The Hoist is a very modern ground floor apartment with undercover private parking. The Hoist will sleep a maximum of three people in one double and one single bedroom. It is a minute walk from the center and a ten minute walk to the river. Situated just off the market place, the cathedral is only five minutes away. Although situated right in the heart of the city The Hoist offers a very peaceful location to stay.

This was our first stay at The Hoist, but it will not be our last!

The accommodation is well equipped and welcoming, with good quality furnishings throughout. Plus, the kitchen is actually equipped for self-catering, unlike many others we have stayed at!

The lounge-diner has a good sized table and the sofas are comfortable.

The bed is only a standard double, but very comfy.

Parking under cover for one car was welcome as it was cold and snowy when we were there. Despite the cold, the accommodation stayed nice and cosy.

A nice touch was the provision of tea, coffee and a cake!!

Location wise, this could not be beaten; a minute from the main square and cathedral.

We only stayed for two nights this time, but The Hoist is ideal for longer stays too.

A little gem of a property in a great location

If anything this apartment is even nicer than the photos and was comfortably furnished. Everything was well presented and it was spotlessly clean with fresh decor. Lots of nice touches e.g. dishwasher tablets, j clothes, some condiments, fresh milk. Beds & sofas very comfy and it felt welcoming. As described parking is snug, but with so much on the properties doorstep you can park up and then forget your car for your stay. For food shopping there's a Waitrose and two other supermarkets within a few minutes walk. Ely is a lovely place to stay and there's loads of eateries nearby. Loved our visit and will definitely return.

Great location great apartment with a free car parking spot which some might be put of parking in but my SUV fitted. You won't be disappointed has all the mod cons and the city on your door step. :)

Perfect location

Photos and desciption were very accurate, we were not disappointed. Communication with AJ about our booking was helpful and informative. The Hoist was spotless and obvioulsly recently re-painted in parts. The initial supply of milk, biscuits and tea bags was very welcome and a nice touch. Perfectly located within a couple of minutes walk of the town centre. We would be both happy to recommend the property to others s and stay again at some point in the future. A great base for visiting surrounding attractions such as Anglesey Abbey and Bury St. Edmunds.

Great Place to Stay in Ely

If you are looking for a stylish and great place to stay this apartment ticks all the boxes. It is easy to walk and take in the sites of Ely while only being a short drive to Cambridge and St Ives. This apartment has two bedrooms; with the second room smaller but still adequate for a couple with a child. The kitchen is quite spacious and the lounge / dining area large. For a couple it is really very spacious. AJ was an excellent host / owner. Everything was handled professionally and meeting in person we found AJ to be equally professional and friendly. It is a great place to stay if in the area and is one place that is high in our recommendation to family and friends.

Location, location.

My daughter and I had a three day break here and came by train, an easy walk from the station. The property is just off the market square but really quiet and the perfect location for us, it was very well equipped, comfortable and clean and we intend to recommend this property to our friends and to return ourselves. Waitrose was 2 minutes away and the wonderful Cathedral and glass museum about 4 minutes. Plenty of places to eat either in the High Street or down by the river. Lots to do in Ely or good rail links to other places of interest.

We found Ely a friendly and safe city and will visit again.

Excellent base for Ely and Cambridge

This is an excellent base for a trip to Ely and Cambridge. The ground floor apartment is furnished to a very high standard and is extremely comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped and convenient. Alternatively there are a number of places to eat out. The proximity to the town centre and amenities means a car can be superfluous. There is also excellent public transport links to other places of interest. The welcome pack was great for a bank holiday arrival.

The only downside is the parking arrangements. They are very tight even with a small saloon car. Take car reversing out of the space.
