Apartment in Albufeira Town, Algarve, Portugal - Ideal Location Short Walk To Shops, Restaurants, Bars And The Beautiful Beaches

Very spacious sunny 2 bedroom family friendly apartment sleeps 6 people.

Entering the apartment you're welcomed into a long corridor, first with the very well equipped kitchen with hob, microwave, washing machine, large fridge freezer and plenty of cutlery, glasses and utensils. There's an outside veranda/balcony that joins to the master bedroom which is ideal for drying towels after the beach, storing sandy shoes with a cupboard where cleaning equipment can be found if required.

Continuing down the corridor on the left hand side there's a unit for hanging coats along with maps of the local area and information on local attractions. Emergency numbers can also be found here.

Further along on the right-hand is a small room with a Captains bed and pullout.

The corridor opens up into the main living room/dining area. The room is furnished to a high standard with a full dining table that seats 6. The living room has two large sofas, coffee table, TV, DVD player and an air conditioning unit. At the end of the living room there are large doors that open up onto a veranda/balcony that overlooks the swimming pool, with table and chairs complete the set up on the veranda one to enjoy al- fresco.From the living room there's another corridor that leads onto the other two bedrooms and two bathrooms.

The master bedroom is to the right and is extremely spacious with built in wardrobes, double bed, safe and a large dresser unit with plenty of storage. There are sliding doors at the end that open up onto the veranda that links to the kitchen and this room also has it's own air conditioning unit. In the large wardrobe you can also find a high chair and cot for younger guests.

Leaving the master bedroom behind you on the right is the family bathroom. Surprisingly spacious, this bathroom includes a full bathroom suite of sink, bath, toilet, over bath shower and bidet.

Further along is the second bathroom with shower, toilet and sink.

At the end of the corridor is the second bedroom that's equally as spacious as the master bedroom. Again there are built in wardrobes, air conditioning unit, a small veranda looking towards the pool and twin beds. These beds can easily be brought together to make a double or left apart.

The swimming pool is accessible throughout the day and we have provided sun loungers if required that can be taken down and we ask that they are brought back up to the apartment at the end of your stay. There is also a fresh water shower at the side of the pool.

While there is plenty of parking directly outside of the apartment block, La Rose has it's own secure underground parking space. This is accessible around the back of the building and entered by driving down the slope, opening and sliding across an entrance gate before opening the garage door to where a car can be kept. Nice and safe to protect any car you may have hired!

It's also worth mentioning that a short 5 minute walk away is a stop that a local train can be caught that drives around Albuferia and can take passengers to both the old and new towns. It even drives right past the front of our apartment La Rose!

About the Owner

Originally from Angola (a Portuguese colony) my family moved to Albuferia in the 1980's. I lived in the old town and enjoyed all that the area has to offer, particuarly the beaches and the public and private transport that allowed me to enjoy the whole area of the Algarve. In the winter the buses up to Lisbon are excellent to make the most of the whole of Portugal.

Meeting my English husband Alex in Portugal resulted in me eventually relocating to Gloucester (his eventual home town) where we live with our sausage dog Lady. We have a daughter who has since moved out.

Great Location

The apartment is in a great location, right in the middle of both the strip and old town, both really accessible using the train or the red buses. Well equipped, you may need to take a hair dryer though unless Alex and Paula put one in. The apartment has a security gate which gave us confidence having young children. The pool was great and so were the other occupants who we assumed lived there?

Plenty of towels provided for our group, and also plenty of advice from other travelers in the diary and on the maps in the apartment. Paula was in contact with us prior the trip with advice and also organised our taxi.

The beach is great, and only 10 minutes walk from the apartment up and down the hill.

Alexander Clan Holiday

From the moment we arrived at Faro Airport and got the prearranged taxi through Alex & Paula everything went fine. the apartment is spacious clean and tidy. Air conditioning was a essential especially the first week but no problems using it press on and cool air. The pool was great and we pretty much had it for ourselves for the 2 weeks apart from occasionally when other owners appeared.

The resort itself is very friendly towards everybody and everybody seems to speak English even understanding a Scots accent. Every bar, restaurant & albufeira shoping mall has free which was great for my 2 boys (ages 10 & 16)

We ate out about 10 nights out of 14 and apart from 1 restaurant (which they didn't have enough staff and missed an order for us) and had a good meal every night we struggled to spend 80 euros that was 5 adult meals ( say 2-3 starters, 5 mains with drinks usually 3 alcoholic drinks & 2 soft drinks). We kept away from the Strip at night as too noisy for myself , wife and mother.

There's plenty of shopping all over the place which made my wife and mum say it was their best holiday yet. So we will be back.

Great Apartment

Great apartment, highly recommended

Great apartment in a good location. Owners were very good to deal with and couldn't have been more helpful. Would highly recommend for your stay in Albufeira. Both the Old town (15mins) and strip (5 mins) are within walking distance. If you're not up for walking then the small tourist train is good although not air conditioned so can get very hot. Best restaurants we found are Bom Petisco and Ondas e Sabores which are both just around the corner from the apartment. Also worth a mention is the Sizzling Stone restaurant (bottom of the strip, turn left) for a stone steak. If you are going to the beach then Aveiros Beach or Praia dos Aveiros is a must, small cove with a guarded beach and great little restaurant, hard to find but well worth the effort. Will definitely be staying here again with the family.

Very clean and well appointed

A very spacious apartment with 2 double and 1 single bedrooms.

The apartment is very clean with all the equipment necessary for an enjoyable stay.

The apartment is located in a very good position for bars and restaurants.A short walk to the nearest beach and also the main shopping centre.

Catch a taxi to the old town for an entertaining evening and also some very nice

restaurants.

Using the open top red bus is an excellent way to see parts of Albufeira,(don't forget your sunscreen and hat).

Paula and Alex are most helpful and very eager to please.

I would certainly recommend this apartment.

Spacious apartment centrally located

Very spacious 2 bed, 2 bath apartment with everything you could possibly need provided. We only wanted it as a base and ate out every night but the apartment has a fully stocked kitchen and plenty of dining space for people wanting to self cater. It is definitely worth a 5 star rating for the standard and layout of the apartment.

Alex and Paula were very helpful before we travelled providing information about the area and organising a taxi pick up from the airport. Beach towels and loungers are provided and we found we were the only people using the pool during our stay.

The apartment is close to the strip in the new town, we found it full of hen and stag parties at the weekend and a lot of the bars are sports bars but did find some nice restaurants and we've left some suggestions in the visitors book at the apartment. The old town was lovely and we walked there in about 20 minutes, strolling, or you can get the mini train from near the apartment which runs until 11pm.

The beach is about 10 minutes walk but it is quite a steep hill on the way back! The beach was clean but the undertow is quite strong so I think the beach at the old town would be better for children.

I would recommend taking a map book with you as although there is a free map that you can pick up at most of the bars it is quite difficult to navigate as a lot of the roads are not included. We hoped to pick one at the tourist information office but this is closed on a Sunday and Monday so we did manage with the free map but went wrong a few times!

I would thoroughly recommend this apartment.

Location

What attracted us to this property was the location. Location, location, location. Stepping out of the door were some of my favourite restaurants, bars and most importantly, bakeries! Pao da Aldeia is a two minute walk and makes the perfect breakfast to start your day.

Activity and Interests

Nearest Airport : Faro at 20 Kilometres Car: not necessary

Coast/Beach:

A short ten minute walk will take you to the golden sands of Praia de Sao Joao where the delights of the warm water and sunshine can be enjoyed.

Many other beaches are accessible by walking right or left along the coast or by bus or car.

Travel:

The nearest airport to Albufeira is Faro which is approximately a 45 minute drive away. When you book the apartment we will give you detailed instructions of how to get there. We can also highly recommend a local taxi company for transfers, please contact us for information.

Distances:

Albufeira provides a wonderful year long holiday destination for visitors of all ages and interests from around the world. The wonderful sunny climate and the friendliness of the people, ensure visitors return to this beautiful area time and time again.

Our apartment is situated within easy reach of the Old and New Albufeira Towns where local beaches, restaurants, shops, banks and night-life can be found.

Once again it has to be the location. Everything you could possibly want is on your doorstep or a short walk away. There's no need to hire a car with this location. For families this is a unique opportunity as it limits children's grumbling to a minimum! There's a Spa for buying groceries and ingredients for packed lunches but also a very large supermarket a short 5 minute walk. Finally being situated between the old and the new towns meant that no matter what ourselves or guests felt like doing they could spend more time doing that then driving or walking to their destinations.
