Apartment in Shanklin, Isle of Wight, England - Excellent Location, 5 Minutes Walk To Beach, Shanklin Old Village, Tea Rooms And Restaurants

Our second floor apartment is situated in Shanklin most famed for its good weather and pretty Old Village. Its fabulous location offers something for everyone: Sandy Beaches, Rock Pools, Water Sports, Amusement Arcades, Crazy Golf, Thatched Cottages, Quaint Shops and old fashioned tea rooms, which not only offer cream teas, but sea food specialities. Our apartment is furnished to a high standard with Egyptian cotton linen on all the beds; tea towels, bath towels and hand towels are provided, just bring your own beach towels! Loo rolls, hand soap and washing up liquid also provided.The apartment has its own parking space and is a perfect base for visiting the wonderful Isle of Wight and all it has to offer. Places of historical interest include Osborne House, the summer residence of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert, and Carisbrooke Castle where Charles I was imprisoned, or let the kids have fun exploring the Island's famous adventure parks: Blackgang Chine and Robin Hill.

About Sue

The apartment is owned by my parents who love the island but are not able to visit any more and as such we are managing the property for them. We've been holidaying on the Isle of Wight and staying in Savoy Court for over 16 years. We have some lovely memories of the different places we've visited and things that we've done with our 2 boys (eldest now 21, youngest 17 years) from playing cowboys in Blackgang Chine, watching the falconry display at Robin Hill to building sand castles & playing boules on Shanklin beach. It's truly a wonderful place to visit!

Why Sue chose Isle of Wight

My parents bought the apartment over 20 years ago, after visiting friends on the Isle of Wight and falling in love with the whole way of life there. They chose Savoy Court in Shanklin for it's idyllic location near the sea and Shanklin Chine. It's the ideal holiday home with the beach, shops, restaurants and Shanklin Old Village virtually on your doorstep so you don't even need a car! And if you want to get away from it all, the coastal walk to Ventnor blows the cobwebs away.

What makes this apartment unique

The apartment is home from home to us and we've loved staying there over the years. The whole getting on a ferry and driving down to Shanklin along some twisting, winding roads gives a feeling of getting away from the Mainland rat race. We love the fact that you can stumble out of bed, into your swimming costume and trundle down the hill to the beach in minutes and because it's so near it doesn't matter if you've forgotten something! You don't have to pay to park the car along the sea front because you don't need the car! It's been relaxing and convenient for all our family's needs over the years.

Notes on accommodation: Strictly no smoking in the apartment, on the balcony or in the communal areas inside. Sorry pets are not allowed. A small welcome-pack consisting of milk tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided with our compliments. Families are very welcome, a travel cot (bedding not provided) and high chair are available on request. Please supervise children at all times on the balcony. Please note there is no storage for bicycles. Hair dryer provided. Outside: The apartment has communal gardens, a balcony and a private parking space. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: The property is cleaned before each let. Prices include all bed linen (except for travel cot), tea towels and towels (with the exception of beach towels). Additional linen change can be provided for stays longer than 7 days (please let us know). Other: Separate dining area: table with 4 chairs and 2 spare chairs (in the bedrooms). Private parking space. Balcony with table and 2 chairs.

Absolutely beautiful.....just perfect

The apartment is beautiful with everything you could posssibly need. Bigger than I expected and everything spotlessly clean. All the furniture is comfortable including the beds which have luxurious Egyptian cotton bedding.

I was a bit sceptical about staying in an apartment but I didnt need to worry as it is extremely peaceful and the only time we heard anyone else in the block was when we went out and bumped into the odd neighbour (who were all lovely, friendly and helpful).. Thank you to Sue for the sugar, milk and tea bags, a lovely touch.

A short walk takes you to the lovely town with a good variety of shops, bars and restaurants. We ate out every day of our holiday and our favourite place was The Copper Kettle where you could get anything from an egg sandwich to a gorgeous roast dinner (which cost only £4.95). Loads of other places to choose from including Indian, Chinese, fish and chips (Chubbys is lovely for fish and chips, kebabs, fried chicken and pizza) and plenty more.

No need for a car either as the bus stop is a very short walk from the apartment. We visited Sandown, Ventnor, East and West Cowes and Newport. The Isle of Wight Zoo in Sandown is a lovely day out where you can get up really close to the big cats which is a bit different to others I have been to.

I loved this apartment and so did my (usually fussy) husband and daughter. We couldnt fault a thing. Everything works perfectly from the washing machine and TV to the very fast WIFI.

The beach is a five minute walk and is gorgeous with loads of eating places on the front. The view from the apartment is stunning and I can imagine would be even better in the summer months.

I usually go to Cornwall in the summer but tried to book this lovely place instead. Unfortunately it is fully booked for the weeks I wanted.

Sue, the owner was delightful to deal with all the way through, always replying quickly to any queries and always extremely helpful.

This little gem is now our favourite holiday home and we will hopefully be back time and time again.

Lovely apartment, perfect location

We stayed for 3 nights and had an excellent few days in Shanklin. The apartment was in a great spot for exploring without having to use the car too much and ideal for popping to the beach and getting back for lunch. The apartment had everything we needed - we couldn't really have asked for much more.

Best Experience

We come to iow a lot and truly enjoyed having our own place to stay this time. Location is perfect near the old village and esplanade and Sue has it fully equipped with easy instructions on arrival/departure; there was even a small carton of milk in the fridge along with tea and biscuits and other welcoming stuff. The wifi was very fast for mainland let alone being on the island. I was thoroughly impressed and pleased with everything as there wasn't much details left unattended; Will definitely repeat if available next time and would give more stars if I could.

A large, very clean flat in an excellent location

The flat is located in a very quiet area overlooking the Chine with partial sea views from a couple of windows. It was extremely clean and had everything you could want for a good holiday. It has its own reserved parking spot which is particularly useful, particularly, I would think, in high season. Please note that the flat is on the second floor and everything has to be carried upstairs. We will definately stay again

Just perfect!

If you're looking for a beautifully furnished and comfortable apartment with everything that you could wish for, for a relaxing stay, in a perfect location to explore Shanklin and the Isle of Wight, then look no further!

It really was a home from home property and Sue has thought of everything that you might need when away from home and more. The description of the property is spot on and I would echo all the previous comments that others have made on here with their 5 star reviews.

We loved the fact that it was literally just a 5 min walk down the Chine to the seafront. We also enjoyed visiting the Chine during the day and at night when it was lit up. As well as the seafront, it's also ideally placed to wander into Shanklin Old Town or further afield. We enjoyed many cliff top walks and exploring parks etc. My husband loved going for a run most mornings along the cliff top path from the apartment to Ventnor or the other way to Yaverland.

As well as exploring lots of places on foot, we also had a few day trips out around the island and it was lovely to come back to the apartment knowing you had a guaranteed parking space outside the apartment, when the other tourists were battling to find anywhere free to park in the surrounding roads!

The apartment is lovely and quiet and the neighbours that we did bump into were really friendly.

My entire experience of the booking process from start to finish with Sue has been excellent.

I cannot recommend this property and Sue highly enough and we can't wait to return in the future.

Thank you for a wonderful holiday that our family didn't want to end!

Booking Notes:

50% of the total rental price (Booking Fee) secures the booking and must be paid within 5 days of your booking confirmation. If payment is not received then we reserve the right to treat the booking as cancelled. The balance plus a refundable damage deposit of £100 must be paid 8 weeks before the start of your holiday. All bookings are subject to T & Cs which will be emailed with the booking form. All fees incurred through international banking transactions are the responsibility of the guest(s), including fees incurred through refunding the damage deposit.

Changeover Day:
Weekly rental where the minimum stay is 7 nights is Saturday (Summer holidays). Access to the apartment will be from 3 pm. and we ask that you vacate by 10 am. please. Short breaks are available with changeovers subject to availability.

Notes on prices:
Short breaks are available with changeovers subject to availability on all days. The charge for short breaks is approximately one fifth of the weekly cost per night, the minimum stay is for 3 nights as indicated in the Price List.
