Recently restored (2006) fine stone country house, surrounded by vegetation, in the Marche countryside. The house is 1.5 km from San Ginesio, an ancient medieval village with a historic centre of rare beauty still in perfect condition and enclosed with a charming medieval wall and wonderful arches. The property offers a beautiful panorama and has been finely furnished, according to its architectural features to allow guests to enjoy every comfort. The property is set out on three levels, accomodating up to 8 guests. On the ground floor there are 2 bathrooms and a comfortable living room with a sofa bed sleeping two. On the second floor there are two large bedrooms and the third floor has a hideaway bedroom with a jacuzzi tub in the bathroom. The property also includes a 40 sq.m arcade, an old stone restored hut and a 2000 sq.m. garden with a wonderful view on the Sibillini Mountains. San Ginesio is 40 minutes from the Adriatic sea and 90 minutes from Ancona airport “Falconara”.

A wonderful house in a stunning location

We had a wonderful week at Casa de Vince in August 2016.

The house is comfortable for 6 and well equipped for holiday use, we spent hours reading on the terrace and lying by the pool, (5 adults). There are loungers, and a gazebo by the pool and plenty of shade around the house. The BBQ was well used too.

The local scenery is stunning, San Ginesio, a brisk 25 minute walk up hill is fantastic as are the neighbouring towns and villages.

The owners are charming and very helpful, just make sure you arrange to meet them at the gates to San Ginesio town on Day 1 as you will never find the house without their help. Oh, and don't be precious about your car, it is quite a bumpy road to the house and very dusty!

Laura gave us loads of suggestions of where to eat in the area, all good and we found other recommendations in the visitors book. If we needed anything extra the owners dropped it off the next day, they really were brilliant.

We loved the area and will be back to explore Le Marche.

Just a 40 minute drive away are some of the beautiful coastal resorts with golden sandy beaches and wonderful seafood restaurants.

Porto San Giorgio (40 mins) is a clean, high quality, family beach with jetties placed parallel to the shore, permitting relaxed swimming. San Benedetto del Tronto a/k/a The Riviera of the Palms (80 mins) is a more lively beach of equal quality. Fabulous seafood dishes are available at affordable, family-friendly restaurants all along the Adriatic coast.

Ancona airport is 1 hour and 30 minutes drive.

Pescara airport is 2 hours and 30 minutes drive.

Rome airport is 3 hours 30 minutes drive.

Car hire is available at all the three airports and is essential.

San Ginesio, a town of the Marche region in the province of Macerata, stands on a hill about 690 meters high.

The town offers visitors beautiful views and is rich in history, art and architectural beauty. Due to its elevation, San Ginesio has a comfortable and healthy atmosphere especially in the summer. The old town, which is native to the Roman period, is surrounded by the imposing walls of the castle which are still visible, where all the defensive structures of the time including, the walkway, with slits for archers, the towers, etc.

Framed by the blue curtain of the Sibillini Mountains, the village is a green hill, which offers a splendid panorama, which on a clear day get to touch the outline of the Monte Conero. The strategic location between mountain and marine environment, and the soul divided between the authenticity of country life and the cultural richness of San Ginesio make it a welcoming destination for visitors in search of relaxation and fun but also a historical treasure artistic and fascinating traditions.

The local towns have very pretty market squares full of life, lovely cafes, boutiques and restaurants and it is seen by many as the gateway to the spell bindingly beautiful Monti Sibillini National Park. Nature lovers, walkers, mountain bikers, para gliders, mountaineers, skiers or simply lovers of the great outdoors will be spoilt. But you can enjoy all this from your table at the different osterias and agriturismos that are common throughout the area, and provide not only wonderful cuisine at affordable prices but have stunning views from their windows and balconies. In the summer months fairs, fiestas and festivals are in constant competition around the local towns, so just look out for the street signs that criss cross the roads in each town and village, announcing their special culinary delights and when to savour them. There are many museums and galleries in the area with famous painters such as Rafael and Crivelli in prominence.

Booking Notes:
Prices are in UK pounds but we can also accept payment in euros. To confirm a booking a deposit of 25% of the total cost is payable. The balance must then be paid a minimum of 6 weeks in advance of departure together with a refundable security deposit of £ 300 (if there has been no damage to the apartment). Late bookings (less than 8 weeks before departure) must be paid in full.

Changeover Day:
Saturday morning is the changeover day and the house must be fully inspected and cleaned after guests depart. For that reason, guests are expected to arrive after 14:30 and to depart by 9:00. Contact us for different needs.
