"Our week stay at La Bergerie just wasn't long enough. It's a beautiful, spacious home, with a fantastic pool and surrounding garden. There is also so much to do in the region - from visiting gorges, pretty towns and hill top villages to swimming in the sea. Can't wait to return to explore more" Hinners Party June 2013

Fabulous week in the sun.
We had a lovely week staying here. Living room was gorgeously rustic and the private pool was just what we wanted. Would definitely recommend La Bergerie to those looking for privacy and sun.
The best gîte ever
We have stayed at dozens of gîtes over the years, and this is the best of them. The location, very close to Pezenas but right out in the countryside, is ideal. The facilities are excellent: great kitchen, great pool, comfortable living room, comfortable beds, etc. The views are good and the grounds ample. We can't come up with anything to complain about.
Two comments to make.
One: the house is fairly close to a road that carries a fair amount of traffic, and you hear the traffic noise. But it is passing traffic, which is greatly preferable to the stop-and-start noise we have had to endure at other places.
Two: the gîte is on the same grounds as the Colliers' house, and they are very close by. This never presented a problem. The physical layout makes it easy to have privacy. They know how to make you feel that you're on your own - but they are also very friendly and enjoyable to talk to when you do have contact with them. And having them on-site means that questions can be answered and minor problems solved instantly.
I don't know what else to add other than this: we have already booked in for summer 2015, and we are discussing plans for 2016 as well.
A really great place.
difficult to beat!
Was even better than the photos!Very clean throughout.Pool 5*.Cottage well equipped, lots of books, games and DVD,s.Very spacious grounds.Location great for Pezenas shops (very little tourist tat!).Saturday market the best we've seen for a long time.Plenty of eateries (only one burger joint!). Three excellent supermarkets.Locals very welcoming.Hosts very helpful and knowledgeable.Became increasingly difficult to go out sight seeing, so relaxing in the gardens or great fun in the large pool, time passed slowly in the right way.Perhaps most importantly--Ned our dog loved it!
A great place to relax and chill-out for a week. Lovely stone barn conversion with several patios and places to sit and enjoy the sun. Lovely pool. Great living room. 4km from the delightful town of Pezenas. Quick and easy access to the many wonders that this beautiful area offers.
True, the D13 road runs just outside the grounds, but we soon tuned that out and enjoyed the privacy of the grounds and the views over surrounding fields. On the up side, I could jump into the car, shoot straight down the road to the supermarche and be back in 10 minutes with our morning supplies of fresh bread and croissants. Ideal!
A truly wonderful holiday location
We cannot rate this property highly enough - so much so that we have already booked for next year! It would be very difficult to find a property which ticked all the boxes for us and our large dog as this did!
The house is decorated and furnished so tastefully and comfortably and equipped to a high standard. Being an old stone house it is lovely and cool on hot days and has a variety of places to sit out in the open. The swimming pool is very well maintained and, being covered, is useable whatever the weather although the cover was not needed during our stay as it was beautiful weather for almost the entire trip. There are woods across the road for dog walking and the garden is extensive and well fenced.
The property is within easy reach of mountains and gorges to the north, the nearby town of Pezenas is picturesque and well equipped for supermarket shopping, having Carrefour Market, Lidl and Intermarche very easy to find. Carcassonne and the roman amphitheatres of Nimes and Arles plus the Camargue make for good days out and the beaches of the Med are only 20 minutes or so away.
Last but by no means least the hosts, Malcolm and Angela, are wonderful - friendly and very helpful when needed while remaining unobtrusive because they recognise guests' needs for privacy. We can't wait to go back - need we say more? The only fear in rating this property so highly is we could find no space in future bookings for us!
A fantastic property, in a great location
This was a fantastic property, set within large grounds with great areas to sit outside. also a really good pool which could be covered by a full size canopy.
Firstly a huge thank you to the owners, Angela and Malcolm, who live on sight in the adjacent property. They could not have been more helpful and were always available if required.
We flew into Beziers Cap d'Agde Airport. Less than thirty minutes away. Hired a car and got to La Bergerie very easily. This is a very easy area to drive in.
The cottage was very spacious, well furnished, very clean and had everything you need for a self contained holiday.
The outside terrace was a perfect place to enjoy a meal or just sit and relax. The terrace down by the pool was also a great place to relax and enjoy the pool.
You definitely need a car, as there are no footpaths to allow you to walk the nearby Pezenas or other villages. Pezenas is a really nice town. Lots of nice little shops and restaurants. Also several supermarkets nearby, so getting supplies for your stay is not a problem.
This property was a perfect location for us. We enjoyed the space of the building, the size of the grounds and the pool.
We travelled around the surrounding area, someplace everyday (too many to mention), but always came back to enjoy La Bergerie in mid afternoon. This was of course helped by the wine purchased from the local area. Three vineyards (Monplezy, Montpezat and Seigneurie De Peyrat) very nearby and walkable.
This was our first time in this part of France. Very nice and the fact that we were staying in such a fabulous property meant that you were able to totally relax after being out sightseeing.
We were there as a couple, so we had a lot of room, but if a family stay here, they will also have plenty or space.
We had a great two weeks and did not feel like the time passed quickly. Very relaxing. Probably the local wine helped !, Plus the pace of life here is so much more relaxed than the UK. Enjoy it.
I would highly recommend La Bergerie. A fantastic property, in a great location.
Finally thanks again Angela and Malcolm.
