About the Owner

We are a professional couple living and working in London. We fell in love with the beautiful island of Sardinia and the traditional charm of the 14th Century town of Chiaramonti. We were so fortunate to find Casa Grazia and love sharing it with family, friends and guests. We have Sardinian friends in the village who help us with odd jobs and learning the Italian language.

Chiaramonti is a total escape from urban life and Casa Grazia is the realisation of a dream we have had for over 20 years!

Guestbook comments from the owner

Casa Grazia: The perfect house in the center of Chiaramonti (Tzaramonte) is a lovely place to use as the base for your Sardinian holiday.

Friendly people who answer back on your "serra" or "giorno" give you a taste of the live in a small Sardinian town.

The house is perfect and as so often said: a home away from home. It has everything you need to enjoy a lovely holiday.

The sun terrace gives you an unique outside space in the village and provides you with lovely views.

A stroll through the village can bring you to the ruins of the castle or the windmill, but also to the market place (Saturday morning market), or to the village park with bars, pizeria and gelateria.

Visit the cemetery or the San Mateo church or take a 30 minute drive to the coast (Lu Bagnu/Castelsardo) and enjoy the

blue waters of the Mediterranean.

A special tip: visit the ruins of the castle early in the morning (sun rise) and see the morning dew roll in from the hillside covering the whole village. Susan S.

Perfect holiday in perfect Sardegnian town

  • 5 of 5

The house is located in a small Sardinian town, with everything you need in walking distance (bread/sweets/butcher/supermarkets/ bars/ restaurants).

The house itself is perfect : clean, cool, nicely furniture, goods beds and a very nice terrace on the roof!

We keep returning to this holiday spot, because it is perfect for a relaxing holiday:

Nice places to visit in the town : the castle ruins, the cemetery, the Friday morning market (piazza S.Giovani), the local bars. And if you are lucky there is a fiesta for a local Saint or local produce and you can enjoy the local dishes!

Nice places to visit outside the town: the beaches at Lu Bagnu and San Pietro, Alghero, Sassari (all 30-40 minutes’ drives).

And of course all the Nuraghes, Domus de Janas and sceneries you can image can be found near Chiaramonti.

We enjoyed all the good dishes and food: Spianata = local bread; Pecorino = local cheese, the sardines and Gnocchi.

Benvenidos a Tzaramonte!

Charming house in authentic Sardinian setting

  • 5 of 5

Very impressed with Casa Grazia. A beautiful house with all mod cons. The star attraction is the amazing sun-soaked, private roof terrace. It provided the best start to our days and gave views over the Sardinian valleys and the stunning scenery. Charming village setting and the perfect spot for setting out on daily adventure and trips to visit one of the many, beautiful beaches. There's no doubt in my mind that I will stay at the house again. Highly recommend.

Perfect late summer getaway

  • 5 of 5

My partner and I loved staying in this charming and characterful house. The facilities were excellent, the rooms were clean and well furnished and the village location was charming. The views across the valley from the rooftop terrace were stunning. It was a lovely place to have breakfast each morning while planning the day ahead. The house was a short drive to the nearest beautiful beach and it's a great place from which to explore further into Sardinia. Thoroughly recommended.

Excellent views and well furnished house

  • 5 of 5

Our group of four had an excellent holiday in Sardinia staying in Chiaramonti at this excellent, well furnished, clean and beautifully sited property. The views were excellent and we were provided with some excellent recommendations for places to visit and explore. The people in the town were extremely friendly. The only problem we had was with the water supply due to some local waterworks issues but the owners sorted this out promptly and efficiently.

Chiaramonti has an excellent pizzeria but little else in the restaurant line but we overcame that by having big lunches in the places that we visited which generally were no further than half an hour's drive away.
