About the property

One of six apartments in a large Victorian terraced house. addington Rd is a quiet, tree lined street just above the Torpoint Ferry.

Haddington Apartments are in a large ex sea captains Regency street are ideal for self catering family holidays and business. Burrator on Dartmoor is 20 mins drive to the North, The Torpoint Ferry to Cornwall is 5 mins drive to the South. To the East is the Hoe, Drakes Circus with 70 modern shops, the Barbican and the University. Devonport Park with its new Victorian bandstand is 5 mins walk, guests are invited to join the community choir and help volunteers with gardening. It is an ideal for dog walking and has bowls, a petanque pitch and a pavilion for meals and drinks. Beyond the park is the Cremyll foot and bicycle ferry to Mt Edgecombe, Cornwall and the Royal William Yard with many restaurants. You can row our dinghy or learn to sail at Stonehouse.

About Arthur Fairfax Luxmoore

Fairfax and Lucy Luxmoore live a few streets away from Haddington House Apartments. Fairfax is an ex farmer and Lucy is a part time music teacher and runs several choirs. We both enjoy bicycling and walking on Dartmoor. We have recently sold our 24ft Vivacity but have kept the dinghy for exploring. We will probably buy a canadian canoe instead.Our favorite beach is Whitesand Bay where we have swum this summer despite the weather and picked mussels off the rocks. We are both Friends of Devonport Park and help with events and gardening. Lucy runs the Community choir and a boys choir at Devonport High School. We love Devonport as there is so much going on, we can reccomend walks, restaurants and day visits for visitors. Suzanne, mother of 2 teens, has helped us with changeovers for 6 years.

Alternatively, the scenic and local Tamar Valley line runs through Devonport station, very close to the apartments. The car ferry to Torpoint is the quickest way to access the lovely coastline of south-east Cornwall, while the Cremyll foot ferry at Stonehouse takes you to the beautiful country park of Mount Edgecombe.

Outside: The new Life Centre is 20 mins walk and has a variety of pools and indoor sports such as squash. The Brickfield Sports centre is also an easy walk and is near the renovated Devonport Guildhall and Village by the Sea, near Robert Scott's memorial with wonderful views of the River Tamar and Cornwall.

Whitesand Bay apprx 20 mins from Torpoint (add on 10 mins for ferry). Cawsand Kingsand 30 mins walk from Mt Edgecombe via Cremyll foot or bicycle ferry(Ferry is 20 mins walk across award winning Devonport Park. Devils Point, Royal William Yard and open air sea pools 5 mins drive.


Exeter nearest airport apprx 40 mins on A 38 dual carriageway. Brittany ferries to Roscoff and Santander 5 mins drive. Plymouth station 25 mins walk Devonport Station 5 mins walk. Buses frequent from Albert rd to city centre and Derriford Hospital.


Tavistock 15 miles, Saltash 5 miles, South Hams 5 to 15 miles, Burrator on Dartmoor 10 miles bicycle route.
