About Arthur Fairfax Luxmoore

Fairfax and Lucy Luxmoore live a few streets away from Haddington House Apartments. Fairfax is an ex farmer and Lucy is a part time music teacher and runs several choirs. We both enjoy bicycling and walking on Dartmoor. We have recently sold our 24ft Vivacity but have kept the dinghy for exploring. We will probably buy a canadian canoe instead. Our favorite beach is Whitesand Bay where we have swum this summer despite the weather and picked mussels off the rocks. We are both Friends of Devonport Park and help with events and gardening. Lucy runs the Community choir and a boys choir at Devonport High School. We love Devonport as there is so much going on, we can reccomend walks, restaurants and day visits for visitors. Suzanne, mother of 2 teens, has helped us with changeovers for 6 years.

Why Arthur Fairfax Luxmoore chose Plymouth

Plymouth is a jewel among Britian’s cities. Within half an hour you can be out on the water, or up on the moors. The new vision for Plymouth’s waterfront embraces a mixed use principle, with people living over the top of shops and offices, creating a vibrant round-the-clock city, with cafes, bars and restaurants.

A tour, starting on the east side at Sutton Harbour with Queen Anne’s Quay and the new Fish Market, goes through the historic Barbican with its stylish restaurants and along the Hoe where you’ll see the glorious Art Deco of Tinside Lido overlooked by the Citidel and Smeaton’s Tower. Plymouth is a city forged by the spirit of discovery and as you will discover for yourselves, the list of famous and heroic explorers.

What makes this apartment unique

Finding your way around couldn’t be easier. There are excellent train and bus links to all areas. An hour's train journey in either direction takes you to Torquay, with its palm-fringed beaches, or Truro in the heart of Cornwall. Alternatively, the scenic and local Tamar Valley line runs through Devonport station, very close to the apartments. The car ferry to Torpoint is the quickest way to access the lovely coastline of south-east Cornwall, while the Cremyll foot ferry at Stonehouse takes you to the beautiful country park of Mount Edgecombe.
