Pretty Cottage With Totally Private Secluded Garden and Non Chlorine Pool

Updated: 14-Oct-2016
Cottage in Laguepie, Tarn et Garonne, Midi-Pyrenees, France - Tranquil Hamlet Between Cordes And Najac, Lovely Views

Set above the Aveyron Gorge among medieval hilltop villages our stylishly restored 2 bedroom farmhouse offers lovely views and a taste of peaceful French living. The cottage is in a tiny hamlet on a quiet country lane just 2Km from the village of Laquepie in Tarn-et-Garonne. This is great walking country and a wonderful location for bird watching, butterflies and wild flowers. Relax on the terraces, laze around the pool or BBQ in the totally private garden. Laguepie, a friendly village with two rivers, has shops, markets, bars, restaurants and a lovely ruined castle which is beautifully floodlit at night. Great for cycling and mountain biking. River swimming canoeing and riding are popular in the area.

The living room opens onto a front terrace where you can sit and look at the view, watch the world go by and eat/drink al fresco at the table provided. The living area leads to the kitchen with a view over the back garden and the fields beyond.

There is a sofa bed in the living area

The main bedroom has a double bed and windows to front and back

The garden and non chlorine pool, surrounded by a high box hedge, are not overlooked and are completely secluded. Here you can eat outside on the back terrace area, swim or lounge on the sunbeds provided

What a fantastic place - we have had a really wonderful holiday and couldn’t imagine being anywhere lovlier. The house is a delight. Bright, comfortable and, most of all, peaceful. The garden is lovely and it was great to get in the pool.

Our 4th visit! Some places are more beautiful than others. We have seen many places across the world. There are very few that compare with here

The gite is excellent, well equipped and beautifully restored. This is the 14th house we’ve stayed in in France and we’ve all voted it the best

Absolutely fantastic!!!

We have been staying in gites for the last 9 years with our twin sons who are now aged 11. This was the best one yet! We had a wonderful week at La Lauressie. Everything about it was perfect. The location (tranquil, peaceful, not over-looked). The pool was perfect in a private garden. The layout of the gite was just right, spacious and pleasantly furnished.

We spent most days just lounging round the pool, but we did a few visits to local towns in the mornings, including Cordes Sur Ciel (touristy, but interesting); Najac (really nice and very picturesque) and St Antonin (again very picturesque).

We barbecued twice (you need a new barbecue guys!!) and ate out in Laguepie (really pretty town) at two restaurants "Le Fast Fou" cheap and cheerful (and good!) and Les Deux Rievieres, which was excellent!

I would wholeheartedly recommend this property to all my friends, it was perfect!

Very pretty garden and lovely pool.

Lovely location - extremely quiet, yet within walking distance of Laguepie, with several restaurants, shops etc.

We went in June, when things have yet to open, and would advise July and August as a much better time to visit.

House is very good when weather hot, but somewhat limited in wet and cool weather. Clean, pretty and no doubt what one would expect for basic gite accommodation. Not for comfort/luxe seekers!
