We love building special places in lovely coastal locations and sharing our cottages with guests as we adore the beach, sun and sea.

Diane Naylor purchased this cottage in 2009

Why Diane Naylor chose Northumberland

We have been building cottages in Northumberland for several years and Moonstone Cottage by Holy Island sits on the beautiful tranquil coastline

What makes this cottage unique

The property is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty a few minutes from the beach and we hope that like us you will enjoy exploring the local area and it's superb attractions

We are delighted to have received a National Tourism Gold Award for Moonstone Cottage

Guestbook comments from the manager

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in your beautiful cottage and were delighted with the high quality finishes to the property. Having stayed in a variety of cottages throughout the Lake District and Yorkshire over the years, we must say that your cottage ticks all the boxes for us and we hope to book up again in the future and would highly recommend you to our family, friends and work colleagues.

The cottage is very well situated and was a great starting point for us to travel along the Northumberland coastline, Holy Island, as well as up to Edinburgh. We had the most amazing time at the most beautiful places; definitely a holiday to remember.

The layout of the house is fantastic and as we were two couples with young children, we loved the open plan kitchen and dinning room leading to the garden (which is extremely tidy and well kept). All facilities within the house were of a high standard and great quality, which enabled our stay to be very pleasant and enjoyable.

Thank you once again.

Wonderful accomadation , wonderful area , wonderful weather.

A gathering of family from England ,Scotland and Canada ,aging from 22months to 69yers .

The accomadation was excellent from the well equipped kitchen and spacious dining area to the large grassy garden . The children loved seeing the cows peeping over and even named one George!

A visit to Holy Island is a must but needed to be planned carefully to fit in with the tides . 4year old Canadian granddaughter was delighted with the castle tour . Grannies highlight was Gertrude Jekyl's garden .

Banburgh excellent place to visit with beach ,castle ,play area and good eating places .

Newton by the Sea also has a lovely beach .

10minutes drive from house is the Barn at Beal which serves great food and also has a children's play area.

The owners information re accomadation and places to shop and visit was very useful .

Would certainly recommend the accomadation and area .
