It is Grade listed as it was a Public House in the Lovely two bedroom apartment with fantastic views overlooking Tenby harbour. Sleeps 5, master bedroom with kingsize bed and sea views, large second bedroom which can be made up as 3 singles or a double and one single.

Just moments walk to Tenby's three award winning beaches and minutes from the shops and a wide variety of cafes and restaurants. Perfect for a weekend get away for two couples or for a family holiday.

Kemendine appears on every postcard of Tenby, its Grade listed and steeped in history, It was a public house in the 17th century and the heritage plaque above the front door show that George Eliot (Mary Ann Evans) wrote her first novel here.

We are Roger and Caroline and we have we have been coming to Tenby with our 3 boys who are now all teenagers for the past 16 years for our family holidays. They have grown up playing on the beach as toddlers and now they are older enjoy all the water sport activities and eating out as a family in the many restaurants.

  • Large bath with electric shower over and mixer tap. The bathroom is on the ground floor, ideal for washing off sandy children straight off the beach!

  • Description of sleeping capacity: Sleeps 5 (2 Bedrooms) or sleeps 9 with W391 Notes on bedrooms: Bed 1 is absolutely stunning and has just the best views. A king size bed and still plenty of room for the chairs where you can sit and enjoy the view and watch the world go by. Bed 2 is a really good size too and has a "zip-link" so a king or split into 2 singles with separate single so either 2 adults with one child or 3 children. Please let me know if you require it set up as king or singles when booking.

Notes:
Notes on accommodation: Sorry but this apartment is strictly "no smoking" and very small well behaved dogs only. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Fresh finest quality Egyptian cotton bedding is provided. (quilts on all beds). Also a bath mat and bath/hand towels for each visit. If longer than a 1 week stay these are replaced on Friday mornings. You will be required to take your own bath/beach towels.

Inspirational position, even in the rain

We stayed in late October and the place was warm, clean, welcoming and well furnished. The location could not be bettered - fabulous views of harbour life. I suppose in summer it might be a bit close to the crowds, but out of season it's like having the whole view to yourself. And, of course, Tenby is lovely at any time of the year.

Just to note that the bathroom is downstairs, and the stairs are steep, so that might be a problem for those with mobility problems, but our 83 year old was fine with it!

Location location location

We had a wonderful holiday, the view was fabulous, the accommodation was quality. Everything needed was provided. Most importantly the beds were so clean and comfortable. We loved it. Hope to get there again next year. Totally recommended. Just hope you don't get booked up before we can get our dates sorted.

Great location, great views, home from home

Clean, welcoming, homely. The location was fabulous. The owner offered lots of useful information. Great for our two little dogs too especially with the stair gate. Plenty of good restaurants, walks and amazing beaches nearby. The lack of parking was not a problem as walking 5mins to the car with beautiful views was a treat.

A House With Stunning Views

We have stayed at this property on 3 occasions. It has views that are simply beautiful of the beach and harbour. All amenities are within a minutes walk from the property, it is very well furnished and always very clean and tidy. We look forwards to revisiting this property for our summer holiday.

Location

Parking

The town is closed off to cars during the summer holidays but on arrival you just let the steward know that you are booked into Kemendine (No 2 Bridge Street) and you want to unload. They will let you down to the harbour and you can park outside the flat to unload for 5 minutes. Go back up the hill and straight over the mini roundabout and follow the signs for the car park. Last time we were there it was £3 for 24hrs and that also included the free shuttle bus. The great news is that the shuttle bus goes directly back to the harbour - right outside your front door. It runs early until evening so if you want to go back to the car just jump on as they run every 10 minutes..... it's great.

One other option is to park the car in the multistorey carpark next to Sainsbury's as it is again only 2 minutes from the flat and secure and dry. They cater for holiday makers as it is only £3 for 24 hrs.

Coast/Beach:

There are 4 beaches in Tenby: South Beach has 2km of golden sand which spans the shoreline from St. Catherine's Island to Giltar Point.

Castle Beach lies in the cove between Castle Hill and the East Cliff. Harbour beach is a small picturesque beach found right outside your front door and our favourite.

North Beach dominates the view from the flat and is a golden stretch of sandy beach and the prominent Goskar Rock.

Travel:

Tenby is a 2 hour drive down the M4 from the Severn Bridge Crossing (Bristol), 4 hours from West London, 3 ½ hours from Birmingham and 1 ½ hours from Cardiff.

Tenby has a train station and high speed trains run from London Paddington to Carmarthen (3½ hrs). However once past Carmarthen the trains are pretty pedestrian and the journey to Tenby is as slow (1hr) as it is picturesque.

Distances:

Saundersfoot - took us an hour to walk using the coastal path and beach (do it at low tide) and we got the bus back after a great coffee!

Narberth is about a 15 minute drive has been named as one of the twenty nominations for “Britain’s Best Shopping Street” in the Google Street View Awards 2011. Oakwood Adventure Park is about 20 minutes away and has some spectacular rides nowadays!

Further Details:

A Tesco Metro supermarket (open from 6am - 10pm) is a 2 minute walk, so no panic if you run out of anything! A larger Sainsbury's supermarket is five mins walk; Braun's the butchers in Tenby Market Hall, Four Seasons local fruit and veg offer good quality fresh produce. Richard and Sarah run the fishmonger opposite on Tenby harbour and have fresh fish daily and delicious crab sandwiches.

There is a wide selection of cafes and restaurants to suit all pockets and tastes - from excellent fish and chips, classic pub food, Indian restaurants and one or two high quality restaurants. We supply a fact sheet for our guests before they arrive which not only suggests our favourite restaurants but also which tables are the best to book and gives contact numbers so you can make that booking early. Restaurants in Tenby are booked weeks if not months in advance.

Changeover Day:
Saturday is our changeover day. You can access the property from 3pm on day of arrival. Please vacate the property by 11am on day of departure. When booking a short break (long weekend) the arrival time and time of departure can sometimes be more flexible.

Notes on prices:
Whilst we are able to offer short breaks during low season, please be aware that the price for shorter breaks is not a straight division as the overhead cost of cleaning, sheet change is the same for two days as it is for a week.

Due to the overhead of cleaning, transfers, etc the overheads (costs) are the almost the same for one night as they are for a week so the price is not the week price divided by seven and times number of nights. We do offer short stays during non peak times and to cover the costs we have to charge a minimum £265 to make it worthwhile. Depending on the time of year this could be for 3 nights so good value for this stunning location. Please contact us or a price for the dates you require.

  • 50% refund for cancellations more than 14 days before check-in date.
  • 100% refund for cancellations more than 30 days before check-in date.
  • Service Fee fully refunded on cancellations that qualify for 100% refund.
