Blackmoss Farm is a small working farm, grazing Rough Fell sheep on its 24 acres and is approached along a quiet single track gated lane. Being only 2 miles from Windermere, Blackmoss is the ideal location for further exploration of the Lake District National Park. Closer to home we have miles of easy walking (or biking) on unfenced lanes where wandering sheep far out-number any vehicles you may encounter. A labyrinth of footpaths span the surrounding fells affording a variety of interesting walks. Birds and wildlife abound in profusion.

About the Owner

Tony and Jen Sansom are fortunate to live in a wonderful part of the UK, the Lake District, and to have a holiday home in a wonderful part of Majorca.

We moved to Windermere in 1973 where we bought a lovely farmhouse and 24 acres of land. 3 children followed, who have now flown the nest, but to our delight regularly return with our grandchildren.

Changes have taken place over the years since we came to Blackmoss, including the conversion of some redundant outbuildings into a holiday cottage. (E6685)

We first visited Majorca in 1971 and our lasting memory was of almond blossom, blue sky, azure sea and windmills. The dream was to have a holiday home one day, which we realised in 2002, when we bought our home from home in a most idyllic area in the North of the Island - Bon Aire. (B4798)

Convenient and Country Quiet

Blackmoss Farm is ideal for couples wanting to be close to everything the Lake District has to offer but far enough away to enjoy country peace and quiet.

The owners are welcoming and helpful.

The accommodation is clean, well equipped and comfortable.

Blackmoss Farm is highly recommended for short as well as extended stays in this beautiful part of the UK.

Changeover Day:
We have a preferred changeover day of Friday but where possible this can be flexible. Arrival time would be no earlier than 2.30pm and we would ask guests to leave by 10.00am

If we have availability we are happy to offer short breaks; minimum 3 nights.
