Self catering saves money loads of money with some fab wines / drinks from the local supermarkets rather than those large hotel / guest house tabs. BBQ facilities also available subject to the weather. No pets in the interest of hygiene for all our guests. Both the East and West Wings are totally separate with their own facilities

Dining. Large very private dining room ( ideal for the butler ) with seating for 22 people.

Ideal for hen and stag / wedding / family weekend luxury set within its own grounds and very close to the award winning Bournemouth beaches, golf and all amenities. This traditional 1920's built east wing was the original house and still contains many of the old original features although it has been fully modernised.

kitchen with electric oven & hob, fridge / freezer, bosch dish washer, microwave, 2 sets toasters, granite work surfaces with a small breakfast bar, TV lounge with a stunning marble fireplace.

Conservatory which allows additional dining for 12 adjacent to the patio which overlooks the gardens.

Beautiful but a bit tired

Beautiful property but tired

On first impressions a lovey house in beautiful surroundings close to all amenities. However, after being given a lightening tour of the house by the house keeper we were then left to look around and to settle in.

When she showed us around she advised us not to use too many electrical items at once as it would blow the fuses not very reassuring , we were also told we could not use the washing machine or tumble dryer again because of the fuse problem.

When you have paid a substantial amount to hire a property I fail to see how this is acceptable.

The oven was disgusting and the bottom of the oven was covered in grease which when the cooker was turned on created black smoke inside the oven, not at all what I would have expected. There were live wires hanging out the wall in the main bedroom, no light bulbs in the lights in the bathroom attached to the other main bedroom, no curtains/ or blinds in the small single bedroom, or at the sky lights in the top roof bedroom. Broken toilet roll holder in main bathroom, a freezer full of ice so that you cannot use the freezer for frozen items, not very helpful when you want to put anything in.

The heating was non existent except in the roof bedroom everywhere else the radiators were tepid and

no way the temperature of them could be adjusted.

Quite aware this is self catering I was also amazed that considering there were 14 females staying for the weekend that in the 4 bathrooms there was half a toilet roll in each bathroom with no spares, having to go and purchase them myself I found very irritating together with more bin bags as only one supplied and a decent dish cloth as just a sponge supplied which is useless to wipe down tables and kitchen surfaces.

Another point that needs to be considered is that Cash deposit has to be given on arrival which was only advised about two weeks before we arrived and this is not mentioned in any of the pre booking information but when this refunded back on exit day you're given a cheque. I suggest that should be changed and returned the same way as given. Cheques can easily be stopped from both sides if customers are not able to pay by cheque or card on arrival the return of the deposit in my opinion should be returned the same way as paid!

This is a beautiful property but between hires should be cleaned properly there were lots of cobwebs and very dusty, such a shame.

Lovely property but tired looking

I stayed at this property for a hen weekend which was absolutely perfect for what we wanted. We were told to be careful not to use too many electrical items at the same time as the fuses could blow !!! There are 15 females staying in a house and all getting ready at the same time, hair driers straighteners, curling tongs , we don't need fuses blowing. Fortunately we did not want or need to cook food but had we wanted to the cooker

Owner's Response: WE HAVE A STANDARD 100Amp Domestic Fuse the same as ever other household. We get tripped out about once a year due to people leaving on all the 4 hobs, plus Oven, plus Electric Heaters and anything else they wish to plug in. The Electric system works perfectly and is regularly checked. The House Keper was being over cautious. We normally tell all the girls not to plug in their Vibrators at the same time. Pleasant but very tired looking, needs updating.

We were there on a hen weekend and hiring a large property suited our requirements, the property in it's self was superb for what we wanted, but we were told that fuses could blow if we were to use to many electrical items at once (hen party, lots of women, hair washing and styling!!!) bound to be lots of hair driers, straighteners and curling tongs, I would suggest you get an electrician in ! The bedroom I occupied had an ensuite but the main light had no light bulb soon lay light was in the shower or down the side of the mirror !!! Fortunately we did not want or need to cook meals but if we had the cooker was not clean and wasn' t even capable of warming food properly. All in all a great weekend was had by all but disappointed with the accommodation.

BOOKING SYSTEM NEEDS IMPROVEMENT, DISAPOINTED!!

After much research we came across this property which was perfect for what we needed. Speaking with one of the Managers who arranges the booking on a Monday they confirmed the property was available for the dates I needed.

On Tuesday I asked for an invoice to be sent to be so I could pay the deposit, nothing received, I then chased again on Wednesday, nothing received, I then chase again on Friday and they responded to say they would send through the invoice later on today, nothing received.

Sunday morning when I was informed the property had been booked for the dates…… this was a very disappointing and has now put me back to square one trying to search for another property.

I was advised that another colleague had booked it while they were away on holiday and they had family related issues during the week which caused the delay in getting the invoice to me. I do understand that these things happen and can only offer my sympathy for what you and your family have gone through but surely when the property has been booked all parties involved should be informed straight away by email, phone, text and why was it booked with someone when they were away on holiday?

This property was perfect for what we needed and I’m very upset with the service I received as if I got the invoice when I originally asked for it on Tuesday I would have secured the booking.

I hope this doesn’t happen again and would ask people to take precautions when booking this property.

Burton Manor East Wing

We had the most amazing weekend in the East Wing of Burton Manor. We were greeted by Keren, the very friendly and welcoming manageress who immediately made us feel at home and had gone to a lot of trouble to make sure the house was very clean & comfortable, which set the tone for a good weekend. The location of the house is perfect - very close to the city centre and a close walk to the beach and nice pubs. The house has plenty of living space, a very nice & modern kitchen plus a lovely dining room. The bedrooms are spacious & garden is very big.

I couldn't recommend Burton Manor more highly, it was just perfect, very reasonably priced and we only wished we could have stayed for longer. So much so that we hope to return again sometime soon for another enjoyable stay.

Only 1.5 miles from Bournemouth Centre I have owned Burton Manor for the last 25 years and the West Wing was added in 2007. You can walk to the beautiful beach in about 20 mins and all the local Westbourne Bars and restaurants are less than 10 mins walk.
