About the property

Lodge near Greystoke, Lake District, Penrith, Cumbria, England - Spacious Decking Provides Stunning Views And Its Natural Gardens Are A Haven For Wildlife

Larchwood is a beautiful luxury cedar lodge overlooking the historic Duke's Pond. The lodge is located on the edge of Greystoke Forest, with views looking towards Blencathra and the Northern Fells of the Lake District National Park. Its unique location and exclusivity provide the ultimate haven for getting away from it all. The lodge has a large decked area with furniture, three private gardens and a shed for outdoor equipment. The gardens are an oasis for watching wildlife, frequently visited by a wide variety of birds, red squirrels and roe deer. The lodge itself provides 1st class accommodation for up to six people with a double bedroom (en-suite), a twin bedroom, bunk bedroom and spacious family bathroom. The living area is finished to a high specification with large kitchen, dining and lounge area promoting a wonderfully social holiday atmosphere. Two sets of French doors open up onto the secluded decked area, extending the living space for BBQs, entertaining and relaxation. The environment in and around Dukes pond is improving with the lodge owners management and this year we have seen ducks nesting, water shrews, newts , frogs and toads.

Beautiful Lodge

  • 5 of 5

We had an amazing, relaxing holiday at Larchwood! It was one of the best lodges we have ever stayed in and it had everything and more ! The lodge was so beautifully decorated and it had lovely games and DVDs which my boys loved! I loved waking up to watch red squirrels, a woodpecker, and pheasants from the bedroom window. We found a lovely pathway through the woods where we saw a fox and deer. The lodge is in the most beautiful surroundings. We loved Keswick and Windermere with beautiful walks. Eric was so helpful and kind and provided us with all the information we needed and more. We hope to come back next year. Thank you for sharing your beautiful lodge.

Beautiful Lodge, Spectacular Views

  • 5 of 5

Amazing Lodge, super comfortable and very well equipped, the owners have thought of everything!!

We loved our stay, the lodge sits in a beautiful location on the park (the best location we think!) with open views across the fields and hills

We were lucky enough to see deer next to our lodge in edge of the forest and were visited regularly by many red squirrels

We would all love to come back soon

Luxury retreat hidden in a natural wonderland

  • 5 of 5

We found this property to be absolutely perfect! Lots of room for all the family in a luxuriously appointed accommodation chock-full of everything you could imagine to make your stay as relaxing & enjoyable as possible. The cabin is fitted out to the highest standard and extensively equipped with beautiful things from the Laura Ashley mugs to the drench en suite shower. The owners even left a couple of beers and a bottle of wine in the fridge! We felt like honoured guests and very lucky to have found such a luxurious hide-away. We will definitely be back!

Got to be one of the best places to stay in the Lake District

  • 5 of 5

Excellent week.....the accommodation was first class, been travelling to the Lake District for over 20 years and this property is up there with the best stays I have enjoyed. Owners (genuinely) friendly and helpful and I would not hesitate to recommend a stay at the property.

Superb property, Superb setting.

  • 5 of 5

We booked this property for a family birthday celebration.

From the outset Eric was more than helpful and the paperwork needed arrived well in advance. The property is absolutely outstanding both inside and out. Everything you could conceivably need is in the lodge including a super starter pack of tea, coffee, biscuits and a tipple. The red squirrels are even catered for. We hope to return very soon!!
