About the property

Cottage in central Tenby, Pembrokeshire, two minutes walk to beach and town centre

Charming holiday cottage, antiques combined with contemporary furnishings and original artwork, create a really unique and characterful holiday home - its not been decorated for the holiday market, so its unusual. Comfortably sleeps 6; 1 double, 1 twin and 1 double in 'the cabin' (small bedroom). The ground floor is spacious with a large contemporary family kitchen with French doors opening to lovely back garden which is enclosed, sunny and unusual in Tenby. Spacious dining room with sofa. Plus separate cosy sitting room at the front of the house. Back gate leads directly to public parking (not allocated with the cottage). Gated front courtyard, off the road, provides peace of mind for families with young children. A well behaved pet is welcome.

About Meg Anthony

I lived here for many years and couldn't bring myself to sell it. I still regularly visit. It's not a typical holiday let, it has lots of character and quirk, old wooden boards, no laminate, old, low-doorways, not much matches (though I've put thought and care into this!)

I manage a historic house called Insole Court in Cardiff. I also run this little enterprise, so I'm very busy! I try to be efficient, but its best to text or email as I can't answer the 'phone during the day. I keep the availability calendar up-to-date. Be patient - I find this website and its automated messages rather trying, so if you get one you weren't expecting, it may be them and not me! My subscription expires in November 2017, from that point I'll manage all bookings independently.

I get great feedback from my guests, and have lots of 'returners'. Most enjoy that the cottage is different to usual holiday lets... its also in a fantastically convenient spot. I hope you'll love it too!

Why Meg Anthony chose Pembroke, Tenby, Saundersfoot & The South Coast

Tenby combines really spectacular sandy beaches and exceptional historic townhouses, I can think of no other place in the UK that marries the two so beautifully. The harbour is a gem. The town has loads of energy and life, in the summer its bustling, but the cottage (although very central) is in a great location and doesn't feel frenetic. In fact guests really like spending time in the garden. If you want more peace, within 10 mins drive you can find yourself on one of South Pembs many stunning, secluded white sandy coves. Or walking the great Coastal Path.

Bring wellies and a good coat...this is Wales after all. Explore and enjoy the great outdoors. This is one of the most beautiful and unspoiled parts of the UK, rugged and spectacular...

What makes this cottage unique

Tenby is about an hour and a half drive west, from Cardiff.

Straight along the M4, just drive towards the setting sun.

London about four hours in good traffic.

Super cottage in Tenby

  • 5 of 5

Fantastic location 5 minutes from Tenby town centre and three lovely beaches. The cottage is roomy, cosy and stylish. The garden is a great asset too. It was great that we could bring our dog and the nearest beach allows dogs and has a mile of fabulous sand to go for walks. Definitely be back.

Lovely cottage in a great location

  • 5 of 5

Just got back from a great holiday at this lovely quaint cottage in our first visit to terrific Tenby. The cottage is ideally placed just 50 yards from the town centre walls and another 100 yards from the cliffs overlooking the stunning south beach and Caldy Island. Very handy also for the Sainsbury's. The sun did not stop shining and we were at the beach till after 9pm most nights. The south beach bar and bistro does fantastic food in a beautiful setting. Hope to return again.

We had a fab time!

  • 5 of 5

We had a fab stay in Tenby with Finn our dog. The house is lovely - I'm an Orla Kiely fan so loved the curtains and bedding.

We visited lots of Meg's suggested places and enjoyed them all! Fab spanish supplies from the deli in Narbeth - well worth a trip.

Special interest holidays:

Tenby really is a rare place, it offers something for everyone. Beautiful beaches and swimming, vibrant nightlife, great architecture, wonderful walks. Outdoor enthusiasts and water-sports fans have loads of options: sailing, surfing, wind-surfing, fishing. Boat trips to Caldey & fishing trips from the harbour daily. Wales has a complete coast path, and Pembrokeshire's section is the most beautiful; if its seclusion and beauty you're after, you can easily find that too!

Coast/Beach:

Tenby's beautiful South Beach is about a 2 minutes walk away (dogs allowed all year).

Tenby's other beaches all very easily accessed on foot (5 mins).

The nearby award winning beaches of South Pembs are all easily accessible for day-trips.

Travel:

Train station is 5 minutes walk away.

Coach travel 1 minute walk away.

Public car parking (the multi-storey car-park) directly accessible outside back garden gate. The multi-storey is no eye-sore from either house or garden, it is well screened off by mature trees, see pic. On arrival in Tenby, its easy to locate the cottage by following signs to the multi-storey.

Distances:

The cottage is central; Tenby's medieval town walls are visible from the front door. As the cottage is not within the town walls, the traffic ban, which operates in Tenby town during top-season does not affect it.

You can unload outside the cottage on arrival/departure.

Further Details:

Sainsbury's is 1 minute away, very convenient, no need to 'plan' shopping, but it's not intrusive. The garden feels private and restful.

Tenby has a busy high street - banks, clothes shops, pharmacies and many cafes, bars & restaurants to choose from.
