About Joanna Kershaw

Hello, my name is Jo Kershaw.

Joanna Kershaw purchased this house in 2009

Why Joanna Kershaw chose Conwy

Conwy was the first choice as it has been a family holiday destination for about 50 years. We love the town for its history, character and charm. It has plenty of interesting things to see and do, beautiful shops, highly recommended restaurants and friendly local people. It has good travel links so easy to get to and perfect for using as a base to explore Snowdonia and Anglesey.

What makes this house unique

The property is a 2 storey 19th century house on a quiet one way street inside the castle walls of Conwy. It has been refurbished and redecorate to high standards to make a comfortable "home from home" for holiday makers. Its close to the local amenities, river front, castle and many other places of interest.

Great location, comfy, cozy cottage”

5 of 5 starsReviewed July 12, 2014

Isallt was the perfect spot for our family - my husband, myself and 2 young adult daughters. Easy location for day trips to Snowdonia, Anglesey, Caernarfon, and more. We loved that we were inside the town walls and could walk everywhere in the very special town of Conwy - a small and welcoming place. Walked the castle walls numerous times. Beachy vibe. The only difficulty (minor) was parking - very tight spaces, but we were able to find street parking and just walk everywhere! The house is small, but the bedrooms spacious and spotless. Skinny steps upstairs - not good if a person is impaired, but no problem otherwise. Amenities exactly as presented. If you are looking for super luxury, this is not the place, but if you want clean, comfortable and welcoming, this is it!

This house has something special about it that keeps us coming back year after year. It has all you could wish for and more. Its location within the town walls of Conwy is perfect with all amenities a short walk away. The castle, harbour, shops, pubs and lovely woodland and coastal walks right from the door. We love the quiet location of the house with all the benefit of a short stroll to everything. It is only when you stay in Conwy and become a 'resident' for a week or two that you really appreciate its history and atmosphere. 'Isallt' is the perfect place to stay to visit Conwy and the surrounding area.

A lovely cottage in the heart of the beautiful town of Conwy.

The cottage was light, spacious, and very tastefully decorated and furnished. It was well equipped, including a good selection of books, dvds, jigsaws. We hope to return!

A Gem of a Cottage!

  • 5 of 5

An absolute gem of a cosy cottage perfectly situated in Conwy. Such a spacious, clean cottage with everything you could possibly need for your stay and more. Dog friendly with local dog friendly Morfa Beach very close by as well as Conwy Harbour and Castle Walls for local walks. We certainly recommend this 5 star cottage and would love to return next time we visit North Wales.

Fantastic cottage!

  • 5 of 5

We came to the delightful town of Conwy to spend a lovely relaxed week together as a family and it really did not dissapoint!

Isallt is the most charming and beautiful cottage! Big with all the trimmings we did not want for anything.

The beds were soft and comfortable and the location was great! right within the walls of Conwy and close to the high street as well as the railways station. (we traveled without a car)

Michaela is amazing and so helpful a real pleasure to deal with!

We left a little piece of our hearts in Isallt and hope to be back soon!

NIce house in Conwy

  • 4 of 5

We had a great weekend in Conwy. The house is just as described. It has everything that you'd need, a double and a twin room as well as kitchen, dining room, living room, bathroom. It's clean and well maintained. It's on a quiet side road and so it was quiet all the time we were there, including both nights - we slept with the windows open and we didn't hear anything but seagulls.

Instructions for finding the house and getting in were simple, everything worked easily.

The house is inside the walled town of Conwy which means it's a really short walk to the castle, the town walls, the harbour, Plas Mawr, Royal Cambrian Academy and shops. Conwy has useful shops (butcher, artisan baker, delicatessen (excellent ready-made and made to order sandwiches/baps), spar open 7am-10pm 7 days a week, wine shop and craft/art shops as well as a few restaurants, a couple of good fish and chip shops, an ice cream parlour and some nice looking pubs.

The only downside is that as with anywere within the walled town of Conwy parking is a bit hit and miss. The first night we were lucky and parked about 20 yards up the road from the house, the second night we had to park in the car park about 1/4 mile away (50p overnight). It's not far, and it wasn't a problem, but if you really have to be able to park right outside the place you are staying then it would be difficult.

Conwy is pretty well connected by public transport and you can easily buy all you need there without needing a car.
