The apartment is situated on the south west coast of Lake Garda on a private olive oil and wine farm, perfect for those wishing to relax and enjoy the sounds of nature. The apartment is newly and tastefully decorated catering for up to 4 guests, with balcony on both sides of the house maximising on the beautiful views. The house is very light and spacious. On one side of the house you are surrounded by the beautiful chestnut forest which provides shade and fresh breezes in the evening. The kitchen, dining room and separate living area provide all modern comforts. Salò, a historic town, great for walking, shopping and dining and boasts the longest promenade on the lake is perfect for taking in the beautiful views and culture of an Italian lake town. During summer months you can enjoy alfresco dining and listening to live music. Beaches are just 5-10 minute drive away. The location is very central allowing ease for day trips from Milan to Venice, Mantova, Verona and Brescia.

My husband and i moved back to Italy in 2003 to continue the family farm where we produce organic olive oil and the most fabulous red wine! We also grow our own organic vegetables which we share with family and friends. We feel very privileged to have such a beautiful place where we can bring up our two girls in such tranquility and beauty.

"I have rented many houses in Italy, and I liked this apartment. A tranquil, simple and relaxing place in the last house of the village. Hiking trail starts just at the back of the house. Don't take XXL size car, the road is narrow. The owners - Megan and Max - are kind and caring people. The olive oil, wine and other organic products that they make on the farm are excellent. Reading good book and sipping the wine in the evenings, I felt like I was at home. Our children were busy playing and visiting the farm animals with owner's kids. There is a good kitchen in the apartment and some good local restaurants in nearby villages". (Jaan, Estonia)

A Lovely Peaceful Place to Stay

We really enjoyed our stay here, and it was a great place to be based to explore the area. The apartment was very clean and comfortable and the location beautiful and quiet. Megan and Max were the perfect hosts, friendly, helpful and a lovely family. We have stayed around Garda on previous visits but this is the place we would return to next time we visit.

A super place to stay - fully recommended.

A very comfortable apartment with everything we needed for a great stay in this wonderful corner of Italy. The bedrooms are large and airy with plenty of storage, the living area is comfortable and there is a stock of novels if you forget your own, and the kitchen has everything you need for self catering. We enjoyed the morning sun on the kitchen balcony and the sunsets from the other side of the house looking out across the hills in the evening. Lake Garda is a fabulous holiday destination and Salo makes for an interesting, friendly and surprisingly good value base from which to explore everything the lake and its environs has to offer. Max and Megan are wonderful hosts who couldn't have been more helpful giving us the benefit of their local knowledge advising us on restaurants and beaches, all of which were super. The journey up to the farmhouse from Salo is great fun and tests driving nerve and we would definitely recommend following Megan's directions and not sat-nav! The wine produced from their vineyard is quite delicious and we are very glad we packed an extra bag so that we could bring a few bottles home!

We would certainly stay here again if we are ever lucky enough to come back to this delightful region.

Perfect Italian hideaway

This Italian Gem is tucked away, amongst the Olive Groves and Italian Countryside close to the village.

The hosts Megan and Max , and their 2 children Mara and Megan and not forgetting the cute dog Poppy, were lovely, very helpful, full of knowledge, nothing was too much trouble.

The Apartment, is spacious, beautifully decorated, and has 3 lovely balconies to sit on and enjoy your Italian Coffee. It has everything you need, and was very cool at night during the hot summer nights.

Very close by is the village, with narrow roads, and plenty of character, there is a local big Supermarket, Takeaway Pizza close by.

This is an excellent base to explore the Lake, all of the places we visited , Salo, Verona, Sirmione, Limone, and not forgetting Venice were fantastic.

We thoroughly enjoyed the holiday, the Apartment and our hosts Megan and Max were lovely.

Wonderful. Great apartment, great location and Megan and Max were the most helpful hosts ever.

The apartment is located in Rao Volcano which is an 8/10 minute drive up the hill from Salo. The apartment had plenty of room for a family of 4. It was very clean, modern but with traditional twists, which we loved. The hosts left a bottle of their own olive oil for us to use, it was very tasty. There was an allocated parking space which was great, not that parking would be a problem anyway. Megan and Max who own the property, live downstairs with their family, so if there are problems they are easy to contact; we didn't have any problems requiring their intervention during our stay. We did have the opportunity to look around their farm/vineyard with them though- it was breathtaking and very beautiful. There are goats, rabbits, chickens and even peacocks wandering around nearby. Megan and Max are the loveliest hosts we have ever met. Our visit was to celebrate my husband's 50th birthday and Megan even offered to bake him a cake! The nearest town is Salo which is very close by and is a cosmopolitan but homely place. We also visited Verona, Sirmione, Peschiera Del Gardo and had a drive alongside the lake to Limone. I can't recommend this apartment strongly enough. It is very slightly off the beaten track but we loved it all the more for that. The weather whilst we were there (late May to early June) was quite stormy at times but there was no shortage of places to visit and things to do, even if it was just sitting in a cafe near the lake, watching the world go by. We were sad to leave and will definitely be back!

Clean pleasant and hospitalable

Very nice stay . Everything was as expected and an enjoyable time by all was had. Megan,Max and family very friendly and helpful.

Again as previously mentioned dont get a people carried as it can be a bit tight in a couple of places on the road up.

Owner's Response: All roads through most towns and villagers in Italy are tight, however, these roads do normally allow passage to wider vehicles like ambulances. The road up to our apartment certainly is wide enough for larger vehicles as we regularly have to drive through the village with the lorry. I do agree it is tight but certainly doable and clients have always said after a couple of runs they have quickly got used to the road. I drive a renualt scenic people carrier every day.

A truly beautiful,tranquil spot.

We loved our stay in Megan and Max's beautiful home. It is a stunning place in a secluded spot with chestnut forest and olive groves. The apartment is airy, spacious and excellently equipped. Megan and Max were most welcoming and offered advice happily and gave us excellent restaurant recommendations.

We would highly recommend this apartment to anyone, a car is a must but it is an excellent location to explore the beautiful Lake Garda.

The family bought the property having lived in the city of Milan for over 30 years and wanted the space to relax and feel totally away from city life and return to their original routes being the Lake Garda. The property most certainly does this. However, it still has convenient access to all amenities all within a short drive. If you are looking for a peaceful getaway which is away from the crowds this property is definitely for you.

Depending on season guests are able to partake in the wine harvest and olive harvest, giving a unique experience to life on an Italian farm.

Coast/Beach:

Beaches are just 4 km away.

If you like hiking or mountain biking, the paths start just outside the property and take you up the hills to enjoy breathtaking views from the lake.

Central location for visiting major towns. Cities within day trip distance are Salo 4km, Gardone 5km, Gargnano 15km, Brescia 25km, Desenzano 24km, Verona 70km, Bergamo 84km, Milan130km and Venice 192km approx. 1.5-2hrs away by car.

Train services from Desenzano and Brescia just 30mins away by car.

Further Details:

Italian food is important in the Italian culture and there are many places to eat within a small drive, we will be happy to advise several excellent restaurants and pizzerias just minutes away by car. Depending on season and availability our organic farm produce are available.

Walking and cycling is accessible from the house, with facilities to lock up bikes safely and easily.

Changeover Day:
Changeover in summer months is on Saturday, check out before 10am and check in between 3pm and 6pm, flexible at other times.

Notes on prices:
Prices shown are per week and include electricity, water, gas, 1 auto parking, weekly change of kitchen, bed and bath linen/towels and final cleaning on departure. In winter months heating is included in the price and wood for the log fire. We ask that the kitchen and bathroom must be left clean.
