About the property

Cottage in Padstow, old part of town, private parking, family & pet friendly, walk to harbour - Peaceful Location

Skye Cottage is situated in the old part of Padstow, in a very quiet street, just ten minute walk from centre of town. Parking, which is pretty rare in Padstow, is on your doorstep. The house is just nine years old but has been built in the old Cornish tradition, with slates front and the back garden is a fantastic sun trap. Within short walking distance you will be in the harbour, where all the famous restaurants of Padstow are located. Shops and pubs are also just down the road. Padstow is a perfect base from which to explore the whole county of Cornwall, not far from any of the other attractions such as Eden Project, Port Isaac, St Ives and the beaches of Trevone, Harlyn, Constantine, Treyarnon, Newquay, Watergate, Mawgan Porth and the famous coast path walk.

About Adriana Bringuenti

I am a Brazilian lady who have been living in the UK for 27 years, 23 of which in Cornwall where I have made my home and can't think of leaving this place. I have always lived in this area, first in Bloomfield, Trevone (E6352), Padstow for 12 years, where I have Skye Cottage and now in Mawgan Porth. I am married to a local chap and both my daughters were born here, where they follow on their dad's footsteps playing golf, surfing and life-guarding during the Summer.

Adriana Bringuenti purchased this cottage in 2006

Why Adriana Bringuenti chose Padstow

We built Skye Cottage from scratch on the grounds of Garslade - the house over the gate, from where I ran a B&B for 12 years. The idea was to add a couple of bedrooms to the B&B but we ended up building a proper house, which is now being rented as self-catering since we no longer own Garslade. The house has a modern feel to it, with ceramic floors downstairs and underfloor heating, and oak floors upstairs. The bathrooms upstairs also have underfloor heating.

What makes this cottage unique

PARKING, PARKING, PARKING. PRIVATE PARKING. Sorry to bang on about it, but it's very rare in the old part of Padstow to have your own parking space, in a property that's so near all the amenities of the town. Another major attraction is that both rooms are en-suite, which is very welcomed by couples who come on holiday together. Another bathroom downstairs will let you sort out the sand you bring from the beach.

Guestbook comments from the owner

A tranquil idyll in the heart of Padstow. Ideal location, spacious, clean, private.

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed in a few cottages in Padstow but think we have found the perfect place in Skye Cottage.

The house had everything we needed. Particularly the luxury of a parking space which aren't easy to come by in Padstow!

Adriana was very friendly, yet efficient in her communication and although it wasn't necessary, I felt that she would have been quick to resolve any issues, had there been any.

The cottage is in an ideal location being near enough to the town to walk to restaurants, bars and shops, but also far enough out of town to be quiet in the evenings.

The house is well set out with light and spacious rooms which are well furnished.

The secluded garden, (another rarity in Padstow) was perfect for relaxing in when lacking in energy to head to the beach, or just in the evening with a drink after a busy day.

The kitchen is well equipped and we found it had everything we needed.

I would thoroughly recommend Skye Cottage to families looking for an ideal base for a beach holiday, 'foodies' wanting to explore the many wonderful places to eat or even walkers wanting to make the most of the stunning scenery and coastal paths around North Cornwall.

We did a little bit of everything, and had a thoroughly enjoyable fortnight.

Thank you very much Adriana, we are very much looking forward to next year!

Owner's Response: Dear Claire, thank you so much for your kind words. And thank you very much for leaving the house so clean, as well. You're more than welcome next year! I try to cater for everybody without cluttering the house, so really pleased you found everything you wanted. The ice creams you 'forgot' in the freezer were a great treat while cleaning the house. Best wishes and see ou next year. Adriana

Our new favourite play to stay in Padstow

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed in a few different properties in Padstow over the years and think we have found the one that ticks all the boxes for us.

It is within easy walking distance of all the shops and pubs e.t.c., has a private parking space and a nice garden for sunbathing or a BBQ.

The interior is very modern and minimalist, so if you want traditional cottage décor it may not be for you. All the rooms are spotlessly clean and the kitchen has everything needed if you fancy cooking for yourself.

Upstairs the double bedrooms are very roomy and both en-suite therefore perfect for two couples sharing.

Adriana is great to deal with and answers any questions you post very quickly.

We love Padstow and Skye Cottage so have already booked again for next summer. You will not be disappointed if you stay here.

We stayed at this wonderful, cosy cottage for 6 days. 17/09/2017 to 22/09/2017. We had 2 friends from holland and wanted to show them typical English/ Cornish holiday. We were not disappointed.the weather sunny and the cottage with sun terrace a bonus. Please if you are looking for a home from home. With easy access to padstow..this is a must. Would definitely return here in the future.

Skye Cottage is a lovely clean well located property with parking, which is a bonus in Padstow

  • 5 of 5

Skye Cottage is a lovely clean well located property with parking in the heart of a Padstow. I would recommend the property. The one negative is the church bells ring throughout the night it does take some getting use to, apart from that perfect!

Owner's Response: Dear Paul, Thank you for your lovely review. Shame you must be such a light sleeper because you were the first guest in 11 years to mention the bells. The church is over 750 years old and a feature of Padstow much loved by all who come here. If coming back, make sure to bring ear plugs. Thank you also for leaving the house so clean and tidy.
