Guestbook comments from the owner

I just wanted to let you know how much we all enjoyed it. The house was a dream, it was like it had been specifically set up for our needs!! Books everywhere, a mountain of lego and toys, a piano that was in constant use, lovely warm pool (esp cos the weather wasn’t too warm!) and a divine garden with swings, which were a huge hit especially the rope ladder. A really well stocked kitchen. We were just sad we didn’t have more time to read more books, try out more recipes and visit more of the area, the house was so relaxing and beautiful none of us wanted to go anywhere! Every evening was spent in the garden, and every morning we got croissants from the shop, making friends with local cats on the way. The kids all learnt to ask for baguettes and croissants in French. The village was also really intriguing, is the small chateau at the junction of your road abandoned? And what about the beautiful tumbledown buildings in the village? Our kids were fascinated by the cobwebby windows.

We loved the way you hadn’t purged the place of your family’s presence too. Great family shots everywhere. Please pass on our thanks to Rob and his wife also. He was really helpful while we were there. All in all it was fabulous.

Gite was lovely had everything a family needed

  • 5 of 5

The gite and swimming pool was everything a family needed. Not far from Amboise which was lovely. The children enjoyed the swimming pool with the family taking part in the swimming olympics. The garden was excellent everyone enjoyed sitting or playing outside when weather permitted. Also enjoyed the vegetables from the garden. Would definitely visit again.

wonderful 2 weeks holiday

  • 5 of 5

We were thrilled with this house, its extensive gardens and large pool - all providing a perfect setting for our 2 week celebration of a big birthday. The house is well equipped and very comfortable with a large live in kitchen with all the appliances one could wish for. There was plenty of room in the house to spread out and not feel like we were on top of each other. The alarmed and fenced pool was well used as a welcome place to cool off as we were lucky to have fabulous weather. Our family stayed the first week, including a 3year old and 7 month old grandchildren. Our great friends arrived for the second week and again, we found we had loads of room and all everyone loved the garden and pool. We ate 3 times in the renowned Aubiniere restaurant 600m away and explored various chateaux and the Beauval zoo ( the bird show is awesome). Other highlights included a river trip to view the amazing Chateaux de Chenonceau, a wine tasting tour of Domaine Vigneau Chevreau in Chancay and a brilliant segway tour of Amboise. On our last evening, we were visited by deer-a mother and her baby- quite made our stay!

Beautiful and peaceful

  • 5 of 5

We were delighted with the gorgeous house with all its charm and space to spread out, equipped for all our needs and more. However, the gardens and the location were even more special! Being a nature lover, it was a treat to find woodland in the grounds and all around us, the odd deer passing through and the birdlife busy with spring jobs. Just magical, and I do hope we will be back for more soon! Thank you for sharing your home!

Beautiful and spacious home

  • 5 of 5

From the moment we arrived, we couldn’t believe how beautiful this cottage looks from the outside. It’s simply picture postcard and we felt that every time we came back from doing something. The cottage inside is very spacious and has absolutely everything you can think of and more. The garden is so peaceful and the kids loved playing in the swimming pool. Overall the whole place far exceeded our expectations.

Homely, spacious, welcoming, clean & very comfortable.

  • 5 of 5

The house is situated in a very peaceful area but with easy access to the local village (5 min walk), the Loire, Amboise & the surrounding area. The house was welcoming with little touches like flowers from the garden in every room. It is very spacious - plenty of room for a family of 4+. The garden is beautiful with plenty of room for eating outside, ball games, badminton etc. The pool is a really good size. Overall we couldn't wish for a better holiday gite.

We had a wonderful time in this beautiful Home. We loved the huge garden, swimming pool and views

  • 5 of 5

This house is fully equipped for smaller children, with a lots of toys, books, a fence around the pool. Our children had an amazing time. We were there during a very hot week and at times just hang around the garden and Pool. Plenty of space for 2 families. And so charming.....i can really see us coming back. One small point for approval: the garden furniture is ready for renewal but was still functional.
