Forester's Lodge is a private, family-friendly, self catering country house situated in a bright spot next to Farigaig Forest and a few minutes stroll to the banks of Loch Ness. The house is ideal for an extended family, two families holidaying together, or a few couples looking for the perfect break where they also have a bit of space to enjoy their own privacy. Only 14 miles from Inverness and half way down the less commercial south side of the Loch it offers a luxury home from home experience. It combines easy access to the facilities in the city with the escape of country living. Forester's Lodge has everything you could want from a Highland hideaway – log fires, a four oven Aga keeping you cosy in the winter months, free wifi or internet connection, an entertainment lounge for kids of all ages and three en-suite bedrooms. There is also a large family bathroom with bath and separate shower with a further cloakroom toilet. There is a large secure garden with swings, pond and a large split decking area where you can BBQ and relax. We also call our house 'Monster Lodge' as it's so close to Loch Ness. You can view our own website just google Monster Lodge or go to our Facebook page. Monster Lodge is a world away from the norm and holds magical times for our family for over a decade, my kids say they've seen Nessie - if you're lucky you may see her too! It is a fun place to be with fantastic views from the forest and lots of trails and walks to explore for all. Minimum three night break. Please enquire directly with Danny and Lesley about any dates you are interested in. You can also ask any questions direct through our own website monsterlodge.net
Hi, I'm Lesley Gallagher and with my husband Danny we now run what was our much loved family home, Forester's Lodge, as a self catering Highland hideaway. The Scottish Highlands, Loch Ness and Inverness are a fabulous part of the world. There is lots to do and the scenery around the Loch changes every day. We are sure you will love exploring the area. Bring your camera, your skis, your bike, your kayak, your wellies and a jumper and have some fun. Or if you'd rather stick to something a bit less wild take advantage of the great shopping and eating in the friendly local towns and villages. It's only 15 minutes to the nearest Tesco and only 20 minutes to the centre of Inverness where there is a shopping mall, along with many of the high street retailers including Debenhams, Marks & Spencer, TK Maxx and some great local shops and restaurants too!
We also call our house 'Monster Lodge' as it's so close to Loch Ness. You can view our own website just google monster lodge or our Facebook page. Forester's Lodge sits on its own in the forest at Farigaig, yet only only 200 metres from the side of the Loch Ness road to inverness. It's a magical place with many walks and views.
“Magnificent stay at Forester's lodge”

We've stayed a week in Forrester's lodge with two families with 4 children aged 6, 9, 9 and 11. We've had a perfect week with lots of activities like hiking, visits of castles, swimming, fishing etc. The house is very comfortable and more then big enough for 8. Especially the kitchen is a perfect place to gather after a busy day. The AGA makes it nice and cosy. The terrace was also perfect. We've even been able to sit there in the sun! Only downside maybe is the separate diningroom, wich Dutch people are not really used to. We would have preferred a bigger dinnertable in the kitchen so that we could have sat there al together. But that is splitting hairs.

“Best Holiday Home Ever!”
5 of 5 stars
Reviewed July 20, 2015
We've just completed our 3rd stay in Forester's Lodge, after accidentally discovering it in 2009 and I must say we love it more each time. It's the most well equipped, spacious, warm & beautiful holiday home we've ever stayed in. It's has plenty of space so you never feel as though you are living on top of one another and the floor plan is perfect. The amenities are plentiful from the Aga cooker to the American fridge/freezer, the Wii games console, 2 TV's and lots of cutlery/pots etc. The weather was kind to us and we sat out every night with the Chiminea on. Location is great for bikers, walkers, explorers and not too far from civilisation if needed. To top it all off, Asda delivered our food, so we didn't have to take much of anything with us. It was an amaziing week (again) and we can't thank the owners, Danny & Lesley, enough for providing such a great place. We will most definitely be back. The Mains

We had a brilliant stay at Forester's Lodge this August. The house itself is beautiful, very spacious with everything you might need and is set in a tranquil location. We enjoyed the variety of walks close to the house that often led to stunning views. The garden was a great space to relax in, as was the well-equipped game room. We would definitely recommend Forester's Lodge!
Coast/Beach:
Access to Loch Ness is easy from the house and there are many places where you can enjoy a walk along the edge of the water near the house. In addition the pebble beach at Dores is very popular locally for walking, kayaking and to visit the local pub which sits on the shore.
The beaches of the Moray Firth are all easily accessible.
Travel:
Inverness Airport is approximately 25 miles from the house.
There is a bus service along South Loch Ness from Inverness to Foyers but it is infrequent and given the rural location you will best enjoy your trip if you have access to a car.
Distances:
The nearest village is Foyers (2 1/2 miles), best known for its beautiful waterfall. It has a local shop, a cafe and some hotels. Eight miles along Loch Ness towards Inverness is Dores, which has the Dores Inn, where locals and tourists alike visit.
Inverness is 16 miles - here you will find a wide range of shops, restaurants, a theatre, sports facilities etc.
