Cottage in Faversham, Kent, England - Quiet Street 5 Minutes Walk From The Town Centre

On the ground floor there is a front living room with an open hearth comfortable seating TV and DVD. The separate dining room to the rear also has an open hearth dining table chairs and storage space. A door leads into the kitchen with is fitted with electric cooker hob and oven fridge/freezer dishwasher and microwave oven. A further door leads to the rear lobby which houses the washing machine and has doors leading to the rear garden and bathroom. The bathroom has a bath with electric shower pedestal basin and WC.

Upstairs the front bedroom has a double bed and wardrobe/drawer unit while the rear bedroom can be organised as two single beds or one double bed.

There is a small washroom cubicle with Saniflo WC accessible to both bedrooms.

About Hilary and Lawrence Knight

We have been associated to Faversham for many years and have owned our cottage for over 12 years and decided to let it as a holiday rental in 2012.

We first came to Faversham because of our interest in sailing. We are now both retired from wage slavery but we remain busy and are widening our interests and activities around Favversham. We particularly enjoy playing Duplicate Bridge at the friendly Faversham Bridge club.

There is a huge variety of things to see and do around Faversham which also still has a bijou cinema and local theatre group.

We bought this house because of its location in a pleasant quiet street and its proximity to the town centre.

Notes on accommodation: The cottage is comfortable and cosy and is arranged over 2 floors. Outside: There is a small secluded rear garden with furniture and barbecue. Parking is on street and parking vouchers are included in the price. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Linen and towels are included in the price and are changed weekly. The house is cleaned weekly.

Special interest holidays:

Faversham is town with history dating back to the Romans. It is packed with historic buildings, some dating from the 16 century. It is an excellent base for visiting Canterbury and the coastal towns of East Kent as well as having superb road and rail links to l

London and the channel ports.

The coastal wetlands around Faversham, especially the RSPB reserve a nearby Harty Ferry provide first class bird watching especially at migration times.

The area offers a wealth of walking along country paths and coastal and river paths and sailing is popular on the Swale.

There are several stables for horse riding within about 3.5 miles.


The nearest beach is about 4.5 miles away and there are extensive beaches along the East Kent coast from Whitstable to Deal.


A car is not essential. There are buses to Canterbury and Whitstable stopping about 200 yards from the house. The railway station is about 8 minutes walk and trains go direct to London Victoria (1h20 - 1h40) and to Stratford International (1h00) via high speed train which links with Eurostar at Ebbsfleet or St Pancras. There is a direct train service to Dover

The M2 motorway is 1.5 mile.

Gatwick Airport is 60 miles away while the channel ports are about 35 minutes drive.

Whitstable - 9 miles

Ramsgate - 25 miles

Further Details:

Faversham has numerous independent shops and restaurants. It is the home of the Shepherd Neame Brewery, whose beer can be sampled at local pubs. From the cottage you can walk to a local supermarket in 4 minutes.

Our aim is to provide with a home from home. In the absence of something urgent arising, we will not trouble you again, once you have checked in, unless you contact us. We ask only that you leave our cottage, as you would hope to find it.

Booking Notes:

We can accept payment by Paypal to provide you with extra security for your payment. A deposit of 25% of the price is required with the reservation and the balance must be paid 6 weeks before your arrival date.

Changeover Day:
Flexible but Friday/Saturday at busy seasons

Notes on prices:
Prices are from £250 - £395 per week. Short breaks are available from £50 - £60 per night according to season. Friday and Saturday are weekend nights. For your security we can accept payment by Paypal or by BACS if you prefer.

25% deposit required to secure the booking. Balance payable at least 40 days prior to holiday. Where booking is made less than 8 weeks before the holiday payment in full will be required to secure the booking.

Owner's Cancellation Policy

  • 50% refund for cancellations more than 7 days before check-in date.
  • 100% refund for cancellations more than 14 days before check-in date.
  • Service Fee fully refunded on cancellations that qualify for 100% refund.
