About the Owner

This apartment is our Edinburgh home which we live in during the winter months of the year. During the summer, which we spend in France, we let the apartment to holiday makers and business visitors. The Steils is a lovely home for us but it is also the perfect holiday base for visitors from which to explore the wonderful city of Edinburgh. Our family takes care of the lettings, looks after the property and keeps the flat fresh and welcoming for our guests.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We stayed at this property for a month, visiting family and organizing a surprise 80th birthday for my brother. My husband brought his golf clubs and had the time of his life, just walking across the street to the Merchant's Golf Course, and going with my nephews, relatives to play at the other Courses in close proximity. The flat was so spacious, we kept getting lost as to what room we were going into!! Huge kitchen, which was terrific for all the large family dinner parties we held, and wonderfully large living room for the same reason. It would have been nice to have Cable and more stations on the TV as most of the programs had limited interest for us. Great to have an internet link, but the solid stone walls of the building made it difficult to get reception on our laptop occasionally. Otherwise the flat was in tip-top shape, more kitchenware than anyone could ever use. Lots of towels, linens, etc. Great location to jump on a bus right outside the door into town, without all the noise and traffic one endures living in the city center. We have stayed in really upscale properties in the heart of Edinburgh in the past, but after staying at the Steils, with comparable pricing, larger accommodation, access to golf, transportation, shops, restaurants etc., we will not hesitate to rebook this flat when we return next year, as we are currently planning to do.

Excellent accommodation for a party of 5 adults

  • 5 of 5

We chose The Steils for its immaculate accommodation and good links to the city of Edinburgh and surrounding areas - we were not disappointed. The apartment is spacious, elegant and quiet and the owner could not have been more helpful. We would highly recommend this property as an excellent destination when visiting Edinburgh.

5 Star plus

  • 5 of 5

The property is as described on this web site. The apartment is in a very nice neighbourhood., a short walk to the local shops pubs and restaurants. , and to the Braid Hills ,there is also a very good bus service, which also goes to the town centre.

We found everything very clean and in very good condition. and the whole house had a very relaxing atmosphere.

.The owner was very helpful before and during our stay.

We were a group of five, and had plenty of room for luggage, clothes etc.,a very well equipped kitchen, plenty of hot water and towels.

I would recommend here to anyone, we were a group of very grown up people, and it was really wonderful to be there. .
