Close to all the shops, bars and restaurants in the heart of the striking and award winning Andalucian ‘white’ village of Frigiliana: one of the most beautiful. Charming whitewashed houses, flower filled squares, alleyways and courtyards accessible mostly only on foot. The narrow twisted streets are filled with many local shops, bars and restaurants. It is ideal for beach lovers wanting to sample the beaches and nightlife of Nerja, also for those wanting to venture out from Frigiliana into the beautiful mountains of the 'Sierra de Tejeda’ and ‘Almijara' Natural Parks.

Baviera golf course is a 15 minute drive away near to the coast towards Torre del Mar.

Beautiful village and our favourite accommodation during our 3 weeks in Spain

We absolutely loved our stay in Frigiliana and at this wonderful apartment. Located centrally in the old village it is perfectly located with only a minimum of stairs (maybe 20?) to get to the front door. We travelled in August and despite warnings of how hot it would get, we acclimatized well and found the warmth of the area to be great. The apartment is fully air conditioned as chilly as you'd like. A huge selection of english satellite tv and movie compliments the well furnished unit. During our two week stay we so loved exploring the town and it became a second home for us and the kids to relax after a hectic travel schedule in France and northern Spain. Frigiliana is very safe and we felt comfortable allowing our children to explore on their own (ages 12 and 14) during day or night. John was very accommodating to all of our requests including our approximate arrival time required as we drove from Barcelona straight to Frigiliana and couldn't accurately estimate our arrival time. Email communication prior to our trip was excellent with replies generally within a few hours depending on time zone differences (we're on the other side of the world). Apologies to John and Miranda for not better setting ourselves up with an international cell phone plan. We usually travel without a phone on vacation to disconnect for a while from the rest of the world!

Perfect place to relax and enjoy the sunshine.

Just returned from a wonderful and relaxing 9 day honeymoon in this apartment.

All communication with both owners and manager Miranda has been brilliant. Comprehensive information was provided by the owners before arriving making our journey in flawless.

The apartment itself is situated at the foot of the "old town" with steps leading to beautiful gardens, small artisan shops, bars and restaurants (The Garden Restaurant is amazing and well worth a visit)

The apartment was very well equipped with everything considered, even down to spare light bulbs and a first aid kit. The shower is amazing and the air conditioning was essential on some of the hotter days. Also the free wifi was extremely helpful for looking up local attractions and places of interest, also very helpful if you are travelling with children.

The swimming pool is a two minute walk away and is securely gated, clean, well maintained and an asset to the apartment.

Little touches for our honeymoon were gratefully received , cava and flowers on the bed provided by the manager Miranda.

Really enjoyed exploring Frigiliana and sampling the tapas bars in Nerja, beautiful beaches, scenery and Spanish hospitality.

Fabulous !!!! Hope to return next year for our anniversary.

From the Owner

We first discovered Frigiliana in 2001 and fell in love with its beauty and friendly nature. The local residents go out of their way to welcome guests to what is essentially their home village. Quite justifiable planning controls have restricted building works around the village leaving more peaceful surroundings than some of the nearby coastal resorts. That said, there are ample bars and good quality restaurants to enjoy traditional and generic menus, and a number of quaint, well stocked fresh produce shops.

Nearest Airport : MALAGA. 45 MINUTES DOOR-TO-DOOR at 50 Kilometres Nearest Barpub : IN VILLAGE WITHIN 5 MINUTES WALK Nearest Golf : VELEZ MALAGA. ABOUT 25 MINUTES DRIVE at 25 Kilometres Nearest Motorway : AUTOVIA E-15. AIRPORT ROUTE at 3 Kilometres Nearest Restaurant : IN VILLAGE WITHIN 5 MINUTES WALK Nearest Ski : SIERRA NEVADA. 1.5 HOURS at 100 Kilometres Nearest Beach : NERJA TOWN 10 MINUTES BY CAR OR 30 MINS BY BUS at 5 Kilometres Car: not necessary


The beautiful resort of Nerja with its numerous beaches and sea-front restaurants can be reached in 10 minutes by car or the regular Frigiliana to Nerja bus. There are several walking routes from Frigiliana to Nerja, most notably the spectacular Rio Higueron walk following the river from Frigiliana to the coast which takes around 2 hours.


Malaga airport is 45 minutes away by car and Granada airport is a little further, 1 hour 20 minutes. Car hire is recommended but not essential. Driving between cities is comfortable and, generally, congestion free.

The local bus network is excellent, inexpensive and runs regularly between Frigiliana and Nerja. Frigiliana is easily reached from Malaga airport. From Nerja buses run to all towns along the coast and further afield to Granada, Seville and Cordoba.


Nerja is 4 miles away as are the spectacular Nerja Caves. Other resorts along the coast are easily reached, Torrox is 10 mins away, Torre del Mar and Almunecar 25 mins, Granada and the Alhambra Palace are 1 hour 20 mins away and the beautiful historical cities of Seville and Cordoba 2 hours.

Further Details:

Frigiliana is sprinkled with many friendly bars and restaurants, numerous local grocery shops (some within 2 minutes' walk), including fishmongers, bakers and cake shops, souvenir shops and numerous shops selling clothing, leather, jewellery and locally made food and wines. There are three banks in the village and very close to the apartment is the sports centre with various activities and classes, a modern gym and between June and September, a large outdoor swimming pool opens.

A weekly market is held in the centre of Frigiliana on Thursday’s. Several large supermarkets can be found in Nerja including a weel positioned Lidl about half-way between Frgiliana and Nerja; a huge shopping complex 'El Ingenio' is located at Velez Malaga next to the motorway exit to Torre del Mar, 20 minutes away.

Next to 'El Ingenio' can be found the nearest water park. Further afield, Malaga is excellent for shopping, in particular the famous 'El Corte Ingles' department stores.

From the Owner

The local climate and surrounding countryside are huge attractions for us. We enjoy also the nearby towns and cities and enjoy travelling to places such as Seville and Granada. It does get extremely hot in Frigiliana and we would not recommend taking any apartment or villa without air-conditioning, particularly if your family has young or elderly members. The mornings are especially beautiful; take breakfast on the terrace balcony, take in the fresh Andalucian air and breathtaking views........wonderful!

  • Notes on accommodation: Our apartment offers bright, comfortable and spacious accommodation for four adults with additional space for a young person for groups and families of five. The sun terrace with balcony boasts stunning views over the surrounding hills and valleys and is spacious enough to sun bathe or dine al fresco. A sun blind, table and chairs are provided. We provide a selection of English books, guides and maps and a small range of English DVDs & CDs. The kitchen is fully equipped to enable those who enjoy cooking and entertaining whilst away to prepare meals and enjoy the readily available local produce. The air-conditioning has been recently installed and ensures that each bedroom and the main living area are cool away from the hot, summer temperatures. During the cooler months, the apartment can be heated to your taste. The apartment has a small, easy-to-operate safe. Outside: Our guests will have the use of a shared garden area, communal pool and Jacuzzi with changing facilities. Close by there is a municipal sports centre with pay-as-you-use gym, indoor football surface and large pool. Parking is available along the main road, below the apartment Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: The apartment is deep-cleaned with linen/towel laundering prior to new use. Additional cleaning/laundering is available upon request. Hand and bath towels and bed linen is provided.
