Tresowes Green Cottage was built in the early 1800's and has been modernised to provide high quality accommodation within tranquil grounds of 1.25 acres bordering onto Wheal Grey Lake. There are outdoor barbecue and dining areas and a heated garden room overlooking the lake; it is indeed a quiet haven. There are supermarkets in nearby Helston and good restaurants at Praa Sands and in Porthleven both within 5 to 7 mins by car. Facilities include cooker, fridge, TV, WiFi, Ipod station with CD player and radio and central heating.

This 2 bedroom Cottage offers warm and cosy self catering accommodation with everything a family or party of friends would need for their holiday.

There is ample kitchen facilities, great shower, lovely tranquil private and shared gardens in an area close to the beach.

Ground floor: kitchen; utility room; large open plan dining/sitting room with wood burning stove and double sofabed; large walk-in shower room and separate toilet.

First floor : 2 bedrooms: one kingsize or twin with ensuite toilet and basin and one double both with views over the garden towards the Lake.

Egyptian cotton sheets, towels, bathrobes and beach towels and changed weekly or more frequently by request. Cleaning is done before arrival and weekly thereafter.

About the Owner

From the moment we first saw Tresowes Green Cottage we knew we had found a gem and it was a place we wanted to both live and to share with others. The peacefulness of this setting by the Wheal Grey Lake and its closeness to the spectacular coastline with its glorious beaches, hidden coves and wonderful amenities make it a wonderful place to live and visit.

Since opening our accommodation to guests in 2012, by offering two holiday lets in Cornwall, The Barn and The Cottage, which makes self catering holidays unique, we have been fortunate to welcome wonderful guests from all over the world, many of whom have returned and regard Tresowes Green as their second home.

Tresowes is located within a World Heritage Site due to its history of mining for tin, copper and china clay as well as its outstanding beauty. The hamlet itself is very quiet with only 48 dwellings, each set apart, providing privacy. There are numerous award winning restaurants within easy distance so we would recommend guests have a car to maximise their enjoyment.

We are very conveniently located to visit such attractions as Porthleven, St Michael's Mount, Marazion, St Ives, Penzance, The Lizard, Lands End, Minack Theatre, Poldark Mine, numerous Gardens, Beaches and the Coastal Path.

Wunderschönes Cottage und sehr nette Gastgeber!

Wir verbrachten mit unserer 12 jährigen Tochter 2 Wochen im Sommer im Tresowes Green Cottage in der grösseren Wohnung.

Das 200 Jahre alte Cottage ist urgemütlich und trotzdem perfekt ausgestattet mit allen Errungenschaften der modernen Medien. Es gibt einen DVD Spieler mit DVDs, eine Wii mit Spielen etc, WLan etc. Die Gastgeber wissen, dass auch mal ein Regentag überbrückt werden muss 😉.

Eigentlich ist aber auch das Aussengelände umwerfend und wir haben jeden regenfreien Moment genutzt um draussen zu frühstücken, zu grillen oder auf der grossen Spielwiese Badminton oder Fussball zu spielen.

Der Garten ist wunderschön im englischen Stil angelegt und liegt an einem See (baden nicht möglich).

Die 2 Ferienwohnungen liegen voneinander entfernt mit intimen eigenen Terrassen.

Die Gastgeber Leslie und Johnnie wohnen auf dem Gelände und stehen einem stets mit Rat und Tat zur Seite bei Bedarf.

Das Cottage liegt einsam im Grünen. Bis nach Praa Sands zum Strand sind es ca 2km. Also, ohne Auto ist nichts zu machen. Trotzdem sind viele tolle Ecken Cornwalls wie die Lizard Halbinsel oder die Penwith Halbinsel in relativ kurzer Zeit erreichbar. Wir sind überwiegend den Coastal Footpath gewandert im Urlaub.

Wir würden das Tresowes Green Cottage jederzeit weiterempfehlen. Es eignet sich sowohl für Erwachsene, als auch für Familien. Auch Hunde sind übrigens willkommen.

We want your holiday to be a relaxing and memorable experience. Self catering accommodation at its best, within stunning gardens, fishing lake, native and subtropical plants, bringing some of the Canary Islands and New Zealand to the stunning Cornwall. Most of our guests comment on how they enjoy relaxing in the garden for breakfast and again in the evening with a drink after a day of surfing, swimming, fishing, gallery viewing and sightseeing. We are happy to make recommendations for places to eat and visit. Equally, if its a barbecue you want, we can recommend local markets to purchase fresh produce.

Praa Sands, a mile long sandy beach is 1.5 miles away with Porthleven just 3.8 miles and Marazion 5.4 miles. There are numerous other beaches and coves to be discovered.


Newquay 45 miles. Penzance rail station 10 miles. Bus and taxi services available from Penzance and Helston, use of car is recommended to make the most of the whole area.

There are supermarkets and banks in Helston and Penzance a local farm shop at Rosudgeon and fresh fish at Newlyn. The owners are happy to share recommendations about restaurants and pubs as well as other attractions.

Bikes can be hired from and delivered to the accommodation.

The coastal path runs the whole of the Cornish coast, so you are never far from a footpath. You can arrange fishing trips from many of the harbours in the area, the closest being Porthleven.

The property is short distance from the main destinations in South West Cornwall: Porthleven,St. Ives, St. Michael's Mount, Mousehole, Penzance and many others, all with good restaurants, galleries and other interesting amenities. Praa Sands, a fantastic sandy beach, is just 25 minutes walking distance or 5 minutes by car, and what is more we provide the beach towels so you can travel light. The Cottage and the Barn are provided with everything you need for your stay: bedlinen, towels, bathrobes, toiletries, kitchen utensils, generous welcoming pack, TV, Wifi, DVD, toiletries, bbq.   • Notes on accommodation: The owners live on site and aim to provide a discreet yet hospitable service including breakfasts and evening meals, transport from rail stations and airport by prior arrangement. Internet Shopping We will accept your internet delivery whilst you are travelling down to us and unpack your shopping into the larder, fridge and freezer ready for your arrival. Well behaved pets are welcome at a small extra charge. No smoking permitted indoors. Outside: The gardens are large and being further developed. There are a number of seating areas with a lovely barbecue area and heated garden room overlooking the lake. Guests are welcome to relax on the foreshore of the lake. Fishing in the lake is possible by purchasing a guest ticket to the angling syndicate available from the owners.
