About this property

Chez Michelle is set in a charming, tranquil conservation area in an historic farming hamlet, 10 minutes easy (flat) walk from the centre of Samoens and 8 minutes from the Grand Massif Express ski lift by the free ski bus (the bus stop is a stone's throw from the apartment).

The 3 bedroom, 2 bath/shower bathroom, 2 balcony self-catering apartment is fully equipped with comfortable beds and sofas, kitchen utensils and cooking equipment, and table and chairs for 6. Bedding and towels are all provided. So too are free logs and kindling for the open log fire. There is a wine/beer cooler, slow cooker, as well as a raclette set for you to enjoy traditional Savoyard dishes round the fire in the winter or on the balcony after a full day of activities in the summer.

There are 2 flat screen TVs with DVD/Blu-Ray players, ipod speakers, as well as free WiFi internet access. A variety of DVDs and a small selection of board/card games are there for you to enjoy. A high chair and travel cot are also available for families with small children.

There is a ski locker to store your skis and boots at night and, for those with a car, there is surface level parking.

Lovely holiday in Samoëns

Our family had a wonderful holiday in Samoëns. The accommodation was great and had plenty of space for parents, grandparents and kids. Samoëns is a lovely resort with loads to see and do. Skiing was great too! The owner and property management were really helpful and made sure that everything went really smoothly.

Perfect Location

Situated in the oldest adjoining neighbourhood of Samoens the apartment was close enough to walk into the town yet quietly situated away from the hustle and bustle. Fantastic views from the lounge across the meadowland.

Great location in a quiet part of Samoëns great facilities and a brilliant log fire!

The chalet was located in a quiet part of the town but close enough to all the amenities. It was lovely to have a log fire at the end of a day and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Many thanks we will return :-)

Splendid Apartment

We had an excellent week at Chez Michelle and can fully recommend the apartment. Everything we could possible need was on hand - we enjoy some elaborate self catering and there was even a slow cooker and raclette set on hand. In cold conditions outside the wood burner kept us nice and warm with plenty of fuel available on the balcony. It took us 12 minutes to walk into the village square over very quiet back roads and paths without having to walk on the main road - just ideal to build up a thirst for a Vin Chaud !

Chez Michelle is owned by Marc and Tania.

Marc is an outdoor 'junkie'. Snowboarding, skiing, mountain biking, hiking, scrambling, rock climbing, canoeing, you name it, he loves it and tries to do as much of it as he possibly can, as often as he can!

More of a beach lover, Tania is a mountain convert! Since owning Chez Michelle, she has learnt to ski and soaked in the atmosphere of Samoens and many of the little villages and towns in and around Samoens the area, including Lake Geneva. There's plenty more she'd like to explore when she's not completely switching off and reading her book in the living room or on the balcony!

Why they chose this property

It's only a 75 minutes flight from London to Geneva and from there an hour's drive to Chez Michelle in Samoens. There's no long transfer to and from the airport and before you know it you're breathing in clear mountain air amidst incredible mountain ranges.

Chez Michelle is in a peaceful farming hamlet of Samoens. As soon as you walk in the door, you feel at home. Light, spacious and quiet, it's very easy to while away several hours soaking up the stunning mountain and valley views from either of the apartment's two balconies, or simply read a book or watch a DVD on the sofa in the living room or on the mezzanine.

Whether you stay on the valley floor or opt to climb ever higher into the mountains by car, on foot, or by mountain bike, you feel like you're in another world. Samoens is such a quaint, French village with a host of traditional-style bars and restaurants for a feel of real rural France. With activities for everybody, all ages, all abilities, all interests in such a beautiful environment, we fell in love with Samoens and Chez Michelle at the very outset.

What makes this property unique

Chez Michelle really is home from home. Relax, unwind, breathe in some clear mountain air and have some fun. A week's stay at Chez Michelle really does give you a taste of life in a friendly, true alpine French village – that's why we love it so much ourselves!

If you're looking for a comfortable self-catering chalet or apartment for up to 6 people, that's within easy walking distance of great restaurants and fun bars but not in the midst of the noise and frivolity, Chez Michelle is what you're looking for.

In the winter skiing months, it takes 8 mins by free ski bus or car to get to the Grand Massif Express lift for access to the 265km of pistes of the Grand Massif domain. In the spring and summer months, there are literally hundreds of walking, cycling and mountain biking trails for all abilities, many from right outside the apartment. Samoens' Leisure Centre with its swimming pools, tennis courts, water golf, football and volleyball areas, and the Indiana Adventure Parc, are only a 10 mins drive or 15 mins walk from Chez Michelle. You can cycle or walk on the flat path to Morillon's Lac Bleu and its sandy beach, open water swimming, pony riding and treetops activity course.

Whilst a car is recommended in the summer, it's not essential.
