About the property

Barn Conversion, Musbury Nr. Seaton and Lyme Regis,South East Devon, England

Set close to the Jurassic Coast, within a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and with its own nature reserve, Lower Bruckland Farm is the ultimate ‘get away from it all’. This contemporary semi-detached barn conversion has a raised patio, set within the farmyard opposite the original farmhouse and will provide a perfect retreat any time of the year. Walks are in abundance and the seaside towns of Seaton and Lyme Regis are within a short driving distance. Fifty yards from the properties lies Lower Bruckland Farm, fishery and nature reserve. This parkland has five large lakes and is home to many interesting species of wildlife including dragonflies and birds. There is a seasonal tea shop which is open from April to October, however, guests are free to enjoy the nature reserve, and picnic and relax by the lakes at will (please take care with children).

About David Satterley

I have lived at Lower Bruckland, a family farm, since 1959. Although dairying ceased in 2003 the land is now devoted to grazing, haymaking, and cereals. In 1999 I started to create the now much-visited Lower Bruckland Nature Reserve, extending to 21 acres. After many requests for accommodation my partner Jo and I decided to convert the old feed shed and bull's house into two well-appointed cottages; being close to the sea, the beautiful Axe Valley, and, with a free pass, to the reserve. We hope you enjoy your stay!

Lovely, Peaceful Week Away

  • 5 of 5

I usually read all the reviews available before I book a cottage so I was a little concerned that I could find only one! However, it was positive and I really liked the idea of the nature reserve being so close, so I booked. I'm so glad I did as we had a wonderful week staying in Corn Cottage. It is spacious, clean and modern inside and with two small boys, having two bathrooms was a bonus. The showers were nice, powerful and hot. The best bit about our stay was having free access to the nature reserve and we spent a lot of time with our children watching the birds, fish and insects that live there. It is beautiful and we were very sad to leave. Highly recommend.

Excellent property

  • 4 of 5

Excellent property - very clean and well-maintained - very pleasant owners - a little more information regarding property before arrival would have been useful such as linen and towels provided.

Lovely area for a relaxing holiday - the nature reserve is great

Would recommend the property and would stay again
