Overview

About the property

Cosy 1 BR cottage, near Port Isaac, coastal walks, woods, beaches, pets welcome

Appletree Cottage is a tastefully renovated quarryman’s' cottage, perfect for 2 adults, looking for a relaxing break . Regretfully not suitable for children, although small babies (ie not crawling ) are fine, with own equipment.

.Situated in the peaceful hamlet of Newhall Green it is conveniently located for the numerous attractions of the North coast , beaches and coastal path. Helland Barton woods just 5 minutes down the lane with riverside walks and trails ideal for walking the dog, also nice walks along the lanes outside the cottage. The cottage is furnished in a simple country style, with original art, country furniture and inglenook fireplace with woodburning stove , logs included . A secure ( for dogs) courtyard garden to the front of the cottage gets morning sun and is full of pots of flowers in season - a nice spot for breakfast! The kitchen is very well equipped with everything you need, plus some pantry items . I can also accept grocery deliveries for you with prior notice. There is a dining table and chairs for 2.

The living room is cosy, with plenty of magazines and books, freesat tv, and art to look at. Comfy sofa with throw and large armchair to relax in.

The bedroom is light and airy with vaulted ceiling and exposed beams, wardrobe and lots of storage for your things. The bed is very comfortable and has cotton bed linens freshly ironed ( by me !) with down duvet and pillows. Polyester duvet available if preferred. Extra blanket available and dual control electric blanket for the cooler months. The bathroom is spacious and situated right opposite the bedroom making it virtually en suite. Towels are provided. Dog towels too!

Visitors remark that it feels like a "home from home" and not the usual sparse holiday let.

.A lovely romantic retreat in the heart of North Cornwall majestic scenery, cosy and comfortable in all seasons,an ideal base for exploring or just relaxing in the peaceful surroundings. The coastal path, beaches and Bodmin Moor are within easy reach.Port Isaac with its' many restaurants, cafes and shops is just 10/15 minutes away. The new series of Poldark is being made in various locations around Cornwall this year. You could also see the now world famous Fishermans Friends singing on Port Isaac Harbour on Friday evenings in the summer (weather permitting)

What makes this cottage unique

A truly beautiful week spent in this gorgeous cottage.

In perfect location for seeing places of interest including Port Issac ,

Tintagel , and Bude to name a few.

Fully equipped even down to toilet rolls.

Lovely village with very friendly neighbours and Gipsy the dog next door.

Very good value for money would recommend this cottage to anyone.

Pub within walking distance through woods past old quarry ,shop for basics and post office also nearby.

Unfortunately didn’t get to meet the owner but this didn’t detract from wonderful stay in this beautiful part of the country.

A delightful cottage.🏡

  • 4 of 5

A lovely weekend break in a delightful cottage, it was everything it was described as on the web site. The cottage was comfortable and cosy, especially with the log burner in the evenings. The surrounding area was beautiful and peaceful, all you could hear were the bumblebees and the birds.

We visited a couple of National Trust homes, Port Isaac is well worth a visit, Padstowe was nice but very busy! Would definitely stop at this cottage again.🔟?

We enjoyed staying at Apple Tree Cottage which had everything we needed for our stay. The cottage is small but comfortable and well equipped. Francesca is very friendly and helpful. We would like to stay here again if we visit the area in the future.
