This is a spacious static caravan set in its own private secluded spot within the grounds of Springfield House and the beautiful Balquhidder Glen, with breath taking panoramic views. The surrounding area boasts a variety of outdoor sports; walking, stalking, fishing, cycling, canoeing, waterskiing and sailing. It has also been the spot of great inspiration for artists and provides the peace and tranquillity sought by those wanting to escape the hustle and bustle of life. It is within walking distance of the local pub, the Rob Roy Bar. For those special occasions the boutique hotel restaurant, Monachyle Mhor hotel, provides an award winning menu within a fantastic location further in to the Glen. The quaint Library Tea room also provides the perfect stop for tea and cake whilst out in the Glen. The Glen itself provides a wealth of Scottish History. This is a peaceful bolt hole, only an hours drive from the central belt, nestled within the hills.

About the Owner

We are a friendly family of five, living in Springfield House. We have a small flock of sheep and dreams of the good life! We moved to Balquhidder because of its beauty but also it's accessibility to the central belt. We invite you to come and enjoy the views and our good life!

The accommodation is situated within the grounds of our house and has recently been redecorated and has a fresh, relaxed feel. We hope you enjoy it.

The 1 star is for the view! This caravan is very scruffy, worn and tired. The fridge door does not close properly the seal is done and the fridge has not been defrosted in months. The furnishings are well worn and tatty, the door does not close properly unless locked, and all the windows don't close properly. There is a dip in both the bathroom and kitchen floors which is alarming. There are many cables plugged into just one socket via extension leads, and you cannot sit at the table to eat as it is too big and you cannot get in. Some curtains are hanging off but at least they are pretty. The bedding and towels would have been lovely if they hadn't had rust spots on afew items. You could not wipe your bum in the loo because the loo room was so small and you had to undress and dress for the shower in the kitchen area. The double bedroom was tiny but bed was comfy. There was no outside light which is essential when it is completely dark, positively dangerous with the steps. The internet did not work and the cutlery drawer fell out of the kitchen unit!!!

We have holidayed in many static vans and cottages and do not like to criticise, but this was just appalling. We couldn't wait to depart. The worst ever we have stayed in.

We were looking for somewhere with a sense of space and peace and we found it here. We are surrounded by a variety of fun outdoor pursuits and a great community.

Travel:

Edinburgh and Glasgow Airports 1 hour 15 mins drive

Crianlarich Train Station is a 25 minute drive or taxi journey away. This is part of the beautiful award winning West Highland line, which has direct daily overnight trains from London Euston. This really is an event in itself!
