Air conditioning is not installed but 2 powerful ceiling fans are in the living and dining area and there are 2 portable upright fans for the bedrooms; the apartment has been built and designed to stay cool in summer and warm in winter. A safe is fitted for your personal valuables; passports, wallets & phones/tablets etc. The community is suitable for families with children and elderly guests. With the terrace and garden overlooking the pools it's great to keep an eye on the kids. The apartment's large private sun terrace and garden area is south facing and gives easy access to the beautiful, green and lush communal gardens and large shared pool and small paddling pool (both unheated) where sun loungers are provided for you to use. Private tennis courts are also available FOC to the side of the complex. The communal areas are privately positioned away from view of non-residents. The complex is accessed only by key / resident access only. Cleaning / Towels / Linen: All bed linen and towels are provided / included. Cleaning and linen changes are done on the changeover of guests. Extra cleaning and towel and linen changes can be arranged at a small additional charge.

Lovely break

We had a very relaxing 2 weeks in this apartment.

It is very clean and well equipped with plenty of towels. The terrace and small garden were a welcome bonus as is the very easy access to the well maintained pool area.

During our stay it was very quiet on the complex in the evenings which made it even more relaxing to sit out with a glass of wine after dinner. The apartment was very secure with a safe and window/door shutters.

The only thing we found missing was air conditioning, although the ceiling and free standing fans worked well, but we knew this before booking.

Access to the local supermarkets was convenient and there are numerous restaurants and a couple of bars within a 10 minute walk in El Zoco, The Strip and Dona Lola. (our favourites are The Restaurant, Da Vinci's' and Bogarts).

Overall this a great apartment and we will have no hesitation in booking it again.

Clean, spacious, uncluttered, contemporary, comfortable

Very enjoyable, relaxing, peaceful & quiet break which my partner and I needed.

We stayed 5 days from Monday June 19th to Friday 23rd,, and the owner always responded promptly with our enquiries prior to our arrival.

We were permitted to arrive early as our flight arrived early, and late leaving, again due to late flight which was much appreciated.

The pool garden and pool were only 50 steps away (I counted!) so going back and forth to apartment was easy. The gardens are beautifully maintained by Antonio and the pool area had bins, showers and toilets. Plenty sun loungers (although few could do with replacing now) & static parasols, but the shrubs & trees gave you plenty shade but with plenty of sun too. The water itself was warm and the pool never busy.

Our apartment had a small garden with sun terrace, but we only ever sat on the terrace in the late evening. Few good British tv channels if you wanted to watch tv.

Only two suggestions we would comment on is there are two different wifi instructions in the apartment, one by front door, and other by back door. We used one near back door as didn't realise there was another. This one didn't connect. Took us couple of days to realise there was another wifi code, after that we were okay.

Couple cheap plastic bins in bathrooms would be handy and a hairdryer.

Kitchen was well stocked with utensils but be prepared to shop for essentials like toilet rolls, milk, coffee etc.

We will come again when we need a break to re charge our batteries!

A lovely place to stay and relax

Just to advise the place is lovely. A nice quiet relaxing pool, the accommodation was well maintained and the local restaurants and super markets were easy walking distance. My wife and I also enjoyed the coastal walks in the mornings as well, highly recommended.

Transport was relative easy from the airport via the bus station and then on a bus, but we agreed next time we would get a train to Fuengirola and then a taxi is just as easy.

If there was only one small disappointment, no hair dryer for my wife to use. We came lightly packed with hand luggage.

I would come back and starting to think about planning a short trip later in the year or definitely in next May..

A part from that, I can only praise.

Worst holiday ever

So, the apartment was very nice, not posh, but nice, but be aware there is no safe before you book, as we were burgled on the last day. The apartment has several keys to get in, with security grilles on everything, but even though they were locked, we were still burgled. We had our jewellery stolen, wedding ring 23 years old, cash and yet we had locked the place up like Fort Knox. Spent the last night in fear they would come back as they had keys. No recompense from owners, just a question of whether we had "secured" the place. Heartbroken does not do it justice.

now they have the audacity to keep emailing, inviting us back. And no apology, nothing. Don't trust this place.

Coast/Beach:

Calahonda beach is a 5 minute walk away, or the beach and town of La Cala is another must to visit. If you fancied a stroll along the beach, head right towards Marbella and after about quarter of an hour you will come across Cabopino beach, allowing you to enjoy the sun, sand and beach bars the Costa del Sol has to offer!

Travel:

Only 30 minutes from Malaga airport, or Gibraltar and Granada airports being approximately an hours drive away, you can be enjoying the sun within a few hours of leaving home in the UK!

Car hire is not essential due to the public transport availability, but should you choose to do so, car hire is available from either the operators at the airport or alternatively across the road from the complex.

Distances:

Marbella 15 mins - Malaga 30 mins - Mijas 25 mins - La Cala 10 mins - Capobino 10 mins - Puerto Banus 20 mins - Ronda 1 1/2 hrs - Fuengirola & Benaldemena 15 mins - Granada 2 1/2 hrs - Gibraltar 1 hr - Seville 2 1/2 hrs(Estimated time by car). Theses are just a few of the many places to see and visit!

Further Details:

Calahonda boasts: Supermarkets, gift/tobacconist/newsagents, bank, chemist, restaurants, hairdresser all with walking distance of the apartment.

Water sports, golf, tennis, sailing all on your doorstep. In the winter months only 2 hours away is the beautiful Sierra Nevada for a spot of skiing in the morning then back to the coast to soak up the sun in the afternoon - perfect!

Many attractions including the huge water park, zoo, Sea World, Selwo Dolphins, Safari Parks, Go-Karts, Tivoli World Amusement Park or the Crocodile Park to name but a few; towns and villages to explore and enjoy - don't forget Gibraltar is tax exempt (no VAT!) but don't forget to take your passport.

It will keep you coming back for more!
