Cottage in Kirkcaldy, Fife, Scotland - Peaceful Location, Close To Many Golf Courses And Beaches

Granary Cottage is surrounded in farmland and overlooks beautiful landscaped gardens and a pond. It is a very quiet and tranquil place to stay but is also not far from the town of Kirkcaldy with mainline station which can reach Edinburgh and most of Central Scotland in under an hour. There are many amenities close by including golf courses, beaches and many historic sites. There are two large ensuite bedrooms in the cottage and a large open plan Kitchen/Sitting room.

About Suzanne Drysdale

I live on a farm 3 miles west of Kirkcaldy with my husband who farms the area around our house. We have three grown up sons and three dogs and have lived on the farm since we got married almost 30 years ago.

Suzanne Drysdale purchased this cottage in 1980

Why Suzanne Drysdale chose Scotland

My husband's family have lived on the farm for generations. Although Kilrie Granary Cottage is in a beautiful rural setting it is still only 3 miles from the large town of Kirkcaldy which has all the basic amenities including mainline train station, golf course, swimming pool, an excellent museum and art gallery and many large supermarkets and shops.

What makes this cottage unique

Kilrie Granary cottage is in a stunning location surrounded by farmland and looking onto beautiful landscaped gardens and a pond teaming with bird life. The cottage is in an ideal location for accessing Edinburgh and most of Central Scotland by train, bus or car making it a great option for visiting the Edinburgh Festival. There are many beautiful beaches and golf courses nearby and we are only a mile from the East Fife Coastal Path.

We had a superstay in a great surrounding. Great house!

  • 5 of 5

The house offered more than we expected. The children loved it. One small comment: some bigger pans would be handy for a five persons family. It's a quiet place and a good base to visit the coast, the beautiful landscape, Edinburgh, Culross, The Kelpies and much more! And last but not least, we had a nice contact with 'landlady' Suzanne, during the stay and the period before.

Perfect honeymoon location

  • 5 of 5

Absolutely perfect spot for my son and his wife to end their 4 week honeymoon visiting family in Kirkcaldy. First few weeks were spent in 5 star luxury in the Maldives, Turkey and Santorini, this romantic cottage was sheer bliss for them. Quirky, secluded and most of all comfortable, they loved wandering around the pretty gardens. Highly recommend this idyllic spot to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
