This superior golf village house is situated in the peaceful, scenic and relaxing location of ‘E’ block, being one of the prime locations for views and amenities, within the San Antonio Villas, Golf and Spa Resort. The accommodation is ideal for golfers, families and couples alike. Close by and just a very short walk from the house, you will find the swimming pools, kids play area, the Spa with its indoor heated pool, the fitness centre, the club house, bar and restaurant and the first tee of the magnificent 18-hole golf course. All guests receive a 40% discount on green fees. Open competitions are held twice weekly. The surrounding area is breathtakingly beautiful. As well as golf and the spa, the resort’s leisure facilities include tennis, bowls and other seasonal kids’ activities. The Spike Bar overlooks the 18th green and there are two restaurants, a snack bar and a pizza bar on site. The locality has a large and varied selection of excellent restaurants with local produce and fresh seafood being specialities.

We have been regular visitors to the Algarve since 1984. In 2003 we decided to buy a house in the main Golf Village close to all the resort amenities and the main clubhouse. I am a civil engineer and now retired, my wife continues to run her consultancy business in the UK. As I am now retired I have the time to do most of the lettings administration whilst the local management of the property continues to be managed by the Resort services team.

We have been visiting this resort, situated in the heart of the unspoilt preserved Western Algarve and away from the “madding crowd”, since it was first opened back in the late 1980’s. We purchased the house which we had previously rented from the then owners and have since completely refurbished and modernised it to a high standard in full compliance to the resort owner’s “Superior” classification. The resort is an easy one hour drive from Faro airport and just a short drive from the fantastic golden sandy beaches of the West Coast, the nearest being only a few miles away in the popular fishing village of Salema, with many good beachside family restaurants. A five-minute drive away is the quiet traditional village of Budens, which has a small well-stocked International supermarket.

The houses in the golf village are especially popular with visiting golfers and their families because of their close proximity to the club house, bar and restaurant and also to the resort’s swimming pool, Gym and Spa facilities. The house has been fully modernised to a superior standard and has two terraces with stunning views across the valley towards the golf course, the undulating hilly countryside and the sea. Even though the house has quick and easy access to all the facilities, it’s location also provides a peaceful and quiet environment for those wishing to just sit on the terrace, enjoy the views with a favourite drink and read a book.

A real sense of holidays!
A very nice house in a beautiful and very well maintained environment. The house was well maintained and equipped. We very much enjoyed all activities in the resort and did not have enough time to do them all ;-) The pool is wonderful for all the family. Supermarkets and interesting areas to visit are very close to the resort as well. Great beaches around as well.
We have just returned from our holidays in Algarve, and we stayed for a week in this house, and we loved it. The house was fully equiped and looked very new and clean. We were 4 adults and 2 kids, and there was enough room for all of us. The two terraces are facing southeast, with great views over the golf course and even the see! It offers a lot of privacy since you are not seeing your neighbours at all. The resort has a lot of facilities/amenities, and its a good location to explore the many amazing beaches nearby. Salema only 5 minutes by car, the nearest beach, it´s a great beach to go with kids, but if you are looking for great stunning beaches then go to the ones near Vila do Obispo. Simply amazing. This area is not as crowded or busy as the central Algarve, so if you are looking for a relaxing holidays this is the place!
A wonderful holiday
I stayed here in September with my parents, wife and 4 month old baby.
The house itself is of a really high standard, with a lovely modern kitchen and bathroom, three spacious bedrooms and a comfortable living area. We arranged for a cot to be in one of the rooms and it was there for us when we arrived.
It also has a lovely sun terrace which overlooks the golf course and we all used it at various times for chilling out, reading or enjoying a leisurely breakfast, as it's nice and quiet.
We were pleasantly surprised by how warm it was in late September and often my wife and mother would take the baby to the pool (which is only a short walk away) while my father and I played golf at the resort course. Parque de Floresta is a challenging and beautiful course and we also used the resort's golf range a lot. To have all of this on our doorstep was just perfect.
There are some lovely restaurants to be found in the local village which is a five minute drive away, as well as a sandy beach which we spent a couple of days at.
All in all we really enjoyed our stay here as everyone had something to do and we were really impressed with the quality of the house. We would definitely stay here again.

The on-site spa complex incorporates a beauty parlour offering various treatments, a gymnasium, indoor pool, steam room and Jacuzzi together with a solarium. Outside there are two large pools, lagoon snack bar, shop and a well laid out children's play area next to the shallower children's pool.
Mountain biking, scuba diving, horse riding and boat cruises can be organized through reception. Numerous scenic walks are available in the vicinity. Surfing, windsurfing and kite-surfing are all available at beaches along the west coast. Daily dolphin trips, deep sea fishing, surfing, sailing and speedboat trips are all available from the marina in Lagos. Numerous scenic walks are available in the vicinity. Close by is the Autodromo which regularly has super bikes, Le Mans series, World Touring Car Championship, FIA GT Championship and formula 1 testing. ?Power boat racing in Portimao. Surfing, windsurfing and Kite surfing are all available at nearby beaches.
Just 5-15 mins drive to a wide variety of fabulous coves and beaches, some with great beach bars, cafes, restaurants and water sports. The closest, Salema, only a 5 min drive, is a small traditional Algarve fishing village with a long, sandy, gently sloping beach and a number of delightful seafront and village restaurants. The west coast beaches are more rugged and dramatic with vast areas of nearly deserted sand with views over the cascading Atlantic. Ideal for surfers. Approx 20-30 mins drive.
Journey time from Faro Airport is approx 1hr. The journey is mainly on a quiet motorway (toll charge applies). Car hire is available at the airport and recommended. For evenings out taxis are easily available.
Historical Lagos at 15km is the closest town. Sagres to the west is another historic town and the home of the famous Cape St Vincent, Europe's most westerly point - 15km. Aljezur on the west coast is approx 20 mins drive. Monchique mountains are about 45 mins drive. Autodromo – approx 30 mins drive.
Budens village is a short walk from the house with O'Tiago's restaurant and a small bakery which has great cakes, croissants etc. There is a very well stocked supermarket which also sells some British foods. There is a petrol station at the supermarket. Internet access is available in the house, extra charge payable at reception. Cash point machines are situated at the main Parque Da Floresta reception and at the supermarket in Budens. There are banks in nearby Luz and in Lagos. Many idyllic restaurants within close driving distance. The historic town of Lagos, with its beautiful cobbled streets lined with shops, cafes, bars and restaurants, is just 15-20 mins drive away. There are several large supermarkets and an indoor fish market and fruit/vegetable market. Lagos is steeped in history and culture and well worth a visit both day and night. Lively Lagos marina boasts many bars and restaurants, and is an ideal place to enjoy the sun through to sunset. Daily dolphin watching trips, grotto trips, deep sea fishing, surfing, sailing and speedboat trips are all available from the marina. Lagos also has 5 great beaches. Water sports facilities are available at Meia Praia beach, which curves around the large bay stretching to the Alvor estuary where kite surfing is popular. Activities in area include scuba diving, snorkelling, surfing, horse riding, mountain bike hire, tennis, bowling, kids clubs all of which can be booked through resort reception. Water parks, Zoomarine and Zoo de Lagos are all close by.

- Notes on accommodation: All guests have free use of the outdoor pools. Guests can also have the use of the gym, indoor pool, sauna, steam room and Jacuzzi during their stay, but this is subject to a fee payable direct to the resort. With good ventilation, high ceilings and tiled floors, air-conditioning is not necessary, but air-conditioning units are provided in all rooms, including bedrooms, for use as required. The Lounge/Dining Room has a wood-burning stove and in addition the air con units can be used as heaters should this be required during the winter months. The bathroom and shower room also have electric heater panels and heated towel rails. Cots, high chairs and fold out beds can be arranged at time of booking for an extra charge. No pets are allowed. Smoking is strictly not allowed in the house. Outside: There are two terraces with table and chairs and sun loungers. One accessed from the lounge, the other from bedroom 1 on 1st floor. The ground floor terrace is equipped with a Barbecue, dining table and 4 chairs and 2 sun loungers to sit and enjoy the wonderful views of the golf course, surrounding countryside and the distant sea views.
