House and gite near Picturesque Village of Domme - The Tower Sleeps 2 (1 Bedroom)

Updated: 25-Jul-2016
House and gite in Domme, Dordogne, France - Peaceful Location In an Historic Setting

One of the most impressive properties in Domme is available to rent. The Castarnou Panoramique nestles at the foot of the 9th century castle and the Moulin de Roy. On the edge of the village of Domme and within an easy 10 minute ''stroll'' through a park to the centre of the village with a view of the Dordogne valley. The holiday home which is south facing offers unique accommodation in both Castarnou and the Gite (known locally as The Tower). The house provides accommodation for 4 with further 2 guests in the Tower. The Tower is built partly onto a cave and commands magnificent views from its elevated position. There is ample secure parking on site for both House and Tower. The caves in the area have been inhabited since prehistoric times. The village of Domme has an enchanting array of bars, restaurants and cafes and is soaked in history and includes the dungeons beneath where the Knights Templar were imprisoned in the 14th century.

Wow a most enjoyable fortnight spent in the most beautiful part of France with a tremendous amount of history. Domme is an extremely friendly village with most of the standard amenities available.

The Tower which is where we stayed was extremely comfortable and quirky with magnificent views across the Dordogne valley. We highly recommend it.
