This contemporary high specification two bedroomed apartment ideally sleeps 3 and can sleep 4 e.g. 2 adults and two children if needed. It has a central location in the village of East Budleigh only a few miles from Exeter,Devon. The village has its own shop open 7 days a week and two pubs all within a few hundred yards on a lovely village walk. East Budleigh was the birthplace of Sir Walter Raleigh for those wishing to trace the history as well as enjoying the rich countryside and all it has to offer. A perfect base to explore the wonderful area of Devon. For The apartment is only 1/2 mile from the famous Bicton Arena and 10 minutes from the Lympstone Marine Camp for those visiting. The area is blessed with a fantastic coastline, scenic nature type walks across Woodbury Common and some terrific cycle routes. It has extremely easy access to the coastal towns of Sidmouth, Exmouth, Lympstone, Topsham and further up the Exe Estuary onto the historic Cathedral City of Exeter, Motorway access is simple to being 10 minutes to Junctions 29 and 30 of the M5 motorway.

About the Owner

My wife and I have tried to create the sort of apartment that we would like to stay in and think we have achieved it. This is a new venture and we are sure that guests will enjoy East Budleigh and East Devon generally which is a fabulous part Devon.

Our aim is to give our guests a really comfortable stay with little interference from us, but we are always here to help and advise if needed.

If we can help to organise or recommend things we will try to help whilst leaving you to enjoy your own holiday whatever it is you want to do.

Immaculate Modern Apartment

Alan and Wendy certainly have a gem of an apartment in a lovely area which is easily accessible and close to many of the fantastic surrounding areas of interest. It was spacious, immaculate, comfortable and provided us with everything and more that we needed for a wonderful stay. From the initial contact through to our stay and beyond the service was excellent.

The information provided was top notch so that you could fully take advantage of Alan's knowledge of the local and surrounding areas.

I can highly recommend a stay here and will be booking again when we visit the area again.

Top Class

Top spec spotless apartment as described in ad, everything we needed was provided. Alan was most welcoming and the information and tour he provided were really helpful and saved us greatly on time as we were only here for a week. On Alans recommendation we did the Estuary walk from Exmouth to Topsham and came back on the train, this was most enjoyable. Also the walk from Seatown along the Jurassic coast was beautiful. Also enjoyed the villages of Budleigh Salterton and Sidmouth. Had a great time here discovering my 'roots'. Would recommend without hesitation

Just Perfect

Alan and Wendy have certainly achieved their aim in providing a stylish, comfortable, spacious apartment.

Their attention to detail and eagerness to provide a very special place to stay is obvious. Much thought has gone into this apartment.

The listing description is spot on. Everything is immaculate.

Customer service is excellent, from enquiry to booking to stay.

The knowledge Alan can provide about the surrounding area and best places to visit is amazing. We would never have found such hidden gems without his help.

A delightful apartment, excellent location and a very genuine host.

We (a family of 4 with 2 boys aged 11 & 9) had a great short break over the Whitsun period in East Budleigh. The village is lovely with it's mix of old (thatched-roof) & more modern properties, and well-served with 2 pubs, church, village shop & park/playground. It is well situated for exploring the East Devon area, with Budleigh Salterton, Exmouth, Exeter, Sidmouth & Seaton very close by. The accomodation was perfect - one of the best appartments we have stayed in - modern, clean & more spacious than the photos are able to do justice. Alan, the owner, was very friendly, eager to ensure his guests have the best time possible, able to offer recommendations on places to go, but not at all intrusive/happy to let his guests 'get on with it' too. We like to visit new places else we would happily book this appartment again & we have no hesitation in recommending it to others!

I had a wonderful stay in East Budleigh in May . The village is all thatched cottages,a church,a pub and a community shop - which sells home made cakes on Saturday mornings- set in gorgeous rolling Devon countryside. People in the village are very friendly and will stop for a chat when out dog walking, or in the pub ,or at church.

The holiday accommodation is first rate , everything of excellent quality- huge TV, dishwasher,washing machine,hob and oven and fantastic showers. There is plenty of parking and a handsome terrace with a table and chairs.

Perhaps the most memorable aspect of our holiday ,however, was the kindness and hospitality shown to us by the owners Alan and Wendy. Like all good owners they left us to get on with our holiday but right from the get go were so welcoming and helpful and set just the right tone for a lovely stay.

wonderfull stay

Stayed here over Easter,delightful apartment well equipped,in great location,near the sea and set in peaceful surroundings.The owner Alan and his wife were most welcoming,i would recommend this apartment wholeheartedly.

From the Owner

We moved to East Budleigh because it is a beautiful village with all essential needs including a school, 2 pubs and a shop. There is a terrific community spirit and even people saying hello when you meet them in the street!! Although pleasantly off any main roads there are easy an direct routes to the other coastal towns, the Cathedral City of Exeter and only a few minutes away from the M5 motorway and the International Exeter Airport. We want for nothing here.

Nearest Airport : Exeter Airport at 9 Miles Nearest Barpub : The Sir Walter Raleigh Pub at 300 Metres Nearest Golf : Woodbury Golf & Country Club at 2 Miles Nearest Train : Exmouth Train Station at 6 Miles Nearest Motorway : M5 Junction 30 at 7 Miles Nearest Restaurant : Budleigh Salterton at 1.5 Miles Nearest Beach : Budleigh Salterton at 1.5 Miles Car: recommended


The nearest of several beaches is at Budleigh Salterton only 3 miles away and an easy walk or cycle if preferred. A long pebble beach and lovely walk into town passing a lovely beach cafe . You can pick up the coastal path from here and walk the coastal path to Ladram Bay, Sidmouth and beyond.

Exmouth & Sidmouth are only a few miles away. Exmouth a very lively town with a marina, boat trips & sandy beach. The Exe Estuary is stunning and there is an amazing cycle track along it to Exeter.


The nearest airport is the International Exeter Airport which is only 9 miles away. East Budleigh is served by local buses going to Exmouth and connecting onto Exeter by bus or the lovely railway line that follows the river onto the centre of Exeter. To explore the area of East Devon and Devon itself fully the use of a car is highly recommended as there is so much to see,visit and do here.


The beach at Budleigh Salterton is only 3 miles away and can be easily walked or cycled.

The coastal town of Sidmouth is only 8 miles away by road and can also be walked from Budleigh Salterton along the coastal path.

The lively coastal town of Exmouth only 6.5 miles away by road and can also be bicycled along the old railway line from Budleigh Salterton.

The pretty estuary villages of Exton and Lympstone only 6.5 miles away too.

Exeter only 11 easy miles away for the shopping centre

Further Details:

As you would expect the East Devon Area has good facilities when it comes to eating and drinking especially local fish and local grown produce. East Budleigh has its own village shop providing all the essential needs and more along with seasonal local fruit and vegetable produce. Our two pubs the "Sir Walter Raleigh" with great food and a variety of real Ales and also the Rolle Arms also providing good food, sport on TV and pool table, with occasional live music.

People find it a great location for when they visit their family and friends who are stationed at the Lympstone Marine Camp which is only 10mins away by car.

The Bicton Arena and Equestrian Centre is only a half mile away where they hold events like the British Show Jumping for Juniors and many more events during the year. Including the Marine Commando challenge if you are up for that.

The towns of Exton and Lympstone also have pubs with good food and the fabulous town of Topsham with its pubs and superb local restaurants like The Petit Maison and The Galley are just a start on what is on offer there. You can also take the water taxi across from Exmouth Docks to the Turf Lock Hotel located at the junction of the Exeter Canal and Estuary with terrific views, great beer and food.

If you cycle you should not miss doing the new fabulous cycle track built for several million £'s by local government. The track travels from Exmouth along the Exe Estuary, The River Exe and the Exeter Canal going via Lympstone, Exton, Topsham and on all the way to the Cathedral City of Exeter Quay area where the TV series "The Onedin Line" was filmed.

The track can be easily picked up at any of the towns en route.

Its not to be missed if you enjoy cycling!

Our methods of payment are normally by cheque or online bank transfer.

1. More than 8 weeks before arrival a 20 % deposit payable to confirm booking and then balance due 4 weeks prior to arrival.

2. If less than 8 weeks then full amount due to confirm booking.

3. In all cases we ask for a £100 deposit cheque for damages which is returned to you on departure.

4. If you cancel we will always do our best to re-let and refund

Changeover Day:
Changeover day normally is Saturday but could be made flexible depending on existing bookings. Guests should depart by 11 am. Guests may arrive at 3pm and if late arriving we have key availability via a combination key safe.

Notes on prices:
We will always try to be flexible in meeting visitors requirements and trying to make sure their stay is as good as it can be. So, don't be afraid to ask because if we can we will.

The apartment has its own parking space and in a very quiet environment. There is full gas central heating and it is fully equipped with TV, video player and music station. Your location here makes it very central for all that East Devon and even Devon has to offer. There is so much to do in this area and you are not very far from any of it. Ranging from watersports, riding, golf, walking, cycling, fishing sea and freshwater and shopping of course.

The apartment has been built to an extremely high specification being centrally heated, solid oak flooring and quality fixtures and fittings. It has a fully equipped kitchen including dishwasher, hob, oven, microwave and washing machine. The in house entertainment includes a 42 inch TV with FREESAT, DVD player, BOSE Docking station and DAB radio. The accommodation has been set up to be extremely comfortable and practical, catering for most needs and we are here to help if there are additional requirements that we may be able to arrange for you. Outside: The apartment has its own patio area which catches the sun most of the day until late evening. The area has a table and chairs for the alfresco moments and has exterior lighting. Utility Room: Not applicable. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen will be provided and changed on a weekly basis. The apartment is cleaned weekly or on Changeover day.
