About Murdo Maclean
I have no doubt that anyone staying in this cottage will have an extremely pleasant and enjoyable visit to the Isle of Lewis.
Murdo Maclean purchased this cottage in 2005
Why Murdo Maclean chose Western Isles
The great thing about this cottage that most others don't offer is its convenience of being close to the Town Centre but also being beside the Sea.
It really does feel like being in the Countryside.
A short stroll will find you at the edge of the Sea shore, where the air doesn't get any fresher.
In the Summer watch the cruise ships sail past as they bring their passengers into Stornoway Harbour.

The cottage was like home from home. Murdo has thought of everything that you might need. Location is excellent for town for shops and restaurants. Cottage is very comfortable and warm and the boys loved that there was tvs in all rooms. We will definitely be returning. Booking process was very easy.
Just like to say thanks for a great stay at your lovely cottage. It's in a great position and made our tour of the island a pleasure. If you need supplies everything is close at hand and its just a wee walk into town for a choice of eateries and a wee dram! We were then able to drive round the whole island taking in the outstanding scenery and views (particularly in Harris, Rodel in particular was superb, hope that doesn't make us traitors!). Had a great relaxing and peaceful time and thoroughly enjoyed our time in Stornoway. Best wishes Charlie, Susie, Alex and Maggie. Easterhouse, Isle of Bute, Pollok and Skelmorlie.
A lovely cottage
This is a recently renovated older cottage which has been restored to a very high standard. It is a very comfortable and tastefully decorated property. Equipment and decor levels are high, there is Sky tv/wifi and even a speaker system in the ceiling of the bathroom. The property is situated less than 5 minutes drive from the ferry and is easy to find. It is also a short walk to the town centre and the local bay. There is a nearby Tesco and close by is a garage/convenience store which sells the local bakery's produce (petrol 5p less than Ullapool). The cottage fronts onto a quiet residential area and traffic flow is light. The rear aspect is private and looks over an unspoilt, natural area with the airport in the far distance. Murdo was very helpful and pleasant to deal with, we would recommend this property...
Lovely renovated cottage on outskirts of Stornoway, ideal for walking into town and very close to island ferry service. Well presented, had everything we needed, very warm and comfortable. Would not hesitate to recommend to friends and fellow travellers. Many thanks.
We stayed in this cottage for 1 week and found it to have everything you need for a comfortable stay. Handy for shops and easy to get about without a car. We were fortunate and the weather was good for us too. Would gladly go back and stay again in the future.
A week in Stornoway
We enjoyed an excellent week in Stornoway, seeing most of the island and visiting the Uists and Eriskay. The house is equipped to a high standard and provided a great base for us to return to at the end of the day.
