About the Owner

Jane and Adrian Stevensen took on Valley Farm House as a restoration project over ten years ago, and have renovated the beautiful Tudor farmhouse and its adjacent outbuildings which incorporate the Hayloft and Barn with great care and attention to detail. A wonderful family home for their three sons to grow up in, with all the sailing and outdoor activities on their doorstep to experience. They love the glorious countryside they live in and enjoy exploring by bike or on foot with their friendly Labrador Biggles.

The Hayloft - a beautifully stylish hideaway

  • 5 of 5

This tastefully decorated and furnished first floor barn conversion is amazingly tranquil. All furnishings and decor are modern and stylish and the accommodation is surrounded by open countryside. Comfortable distance from Thorpness, Southwold, Aldeburgh and Orford - all very nice indeed.

We met Biggles and Max - very welcoming - thank you. we'll be back x

Location

From the Owner

We already loved the area and often visited for weekends to enjoy the unique combination of countryside and coast. When we saw the rambling Tudor farmhouse with its barns and old outbuildings, and its 10 acres of gardens and meadows, we knew it was the perfect place for us to live. It is the most wonderful part of the country with the huge skies, fabulous light and wide open spaces, and you soon understand why it is a magnet for artists, musicians, and writers.

The Hayloft is tranquil and secluded, incredibly peaceful, but in fact easy to get to by road and rail and with great restaurants a short drive away. The perfect place for a short break, it offers a wonderfully luxurious base to get away from it all. You can play tennis on our private court or borrow bikes to explore at your leisure. Within easy reach are famous historical sites, wonderful walks, cycling routes and opportunities to get on the water with coastal sailing and river trips available.
