About the property

Cottage in Heacham, Norfolk, England - Quiet Central Location, 1 Mile From Beach, Own Parking, Well Behaved Dogs Welcome

Tawny cottage is a pretty car stone cottage typical of the area and is located in a quiet south facing terrace set in the very heart of the lovely unspoilt coastal village of Heacham. There are several shops Pubs and Restaurants located nearby and the beach is just a 15 minute walk away. Notable for being the home of Norfolk Lavender and surrounding lavender fields, Heacham is also well known for its associations with Pocohontas. The village lies just 2 miles south of the popular tourist resort of Hunstanton The long stretches of golden sandy beaches of Old Hunstanton, Holme, Thornham, Brancaster etc for which North Norfolk is so well known are just around the corner. Tawny Cottage is perfectly situated for visiting the Queen’s private estate at Sandringham and other stately homes such as Holkham Hall, Oxborough Hall and Houghton Hall This area is also well known to bird watchers and the RSPB’s reserves at Snettisham and Titchwell are situated very nearby. Well behaved dogs welcome.

first visit

  • 4 of 5

just returned from a weekend away - cottage was ideal for the two of us - very nice welcome pack - location was very good - easy walk to shops and the FOX and HOUNDS PH ( nice pub meals enjoyable - good selection of real ales ) first time we had visited HEACHAM - nice village ( but very spread out ) had a nice trip out to WELLS NEXT THE SEA - then evening meal at the FOX AND HOUNDS - did not do to much on the sunday ( raining ) but had a fantastic sunday lunch at the LODGE IN OLD HUNSTANTON

the only criticism of the cottage ( and only giving 4 stars ) was the FUSTY smell from the outhouse - but would certainly revisit the cottage

Lovely sweet terraced cottage to explore Norfolk

  • 4 of 5

Lovely sweet terraced cottage. Deceptively roomy. Very clean and well equipped / welcome tea tray with fresh milk and biscuits 👏 Good location from where to explore. We only had short time but holkham beach. Burnhum market and sandringham all worth a visit. Friendly efficient owner. We were 3.5 year old with grandparents and it was ideal plus parking right outside 👍

Great stay in a nice village

  • 4 of 5

Cottage was clean and had everything for an enjoyable break. Coop and tesco within five minutes walk for anything you forget. Good Indian and great choppy just around the corner if you don't fancy cooking. About 10 minutes walk to the beach, which our dog Alfie loved. In all a great mid-week break.

Delightful, homely cottage in beautiful location.

  • 5 of 5

This cottage is situated in an ideal place for time out exploring the amazing beaches and countryside in Norfolk.

We loved this cottage, it was homely, spotlessly clean and couldn't fault anything, the owners' attention to detail was clear to see.

The village of Heacham is peaceful and friendly , and we enjoyed lots of walks with our dog.

We only wish we could have been there longer! I would not hesitate to go back, and would recommend to anyone.
