About the property

Studio Apartment in Offida, Marche - A Cosy House In The Heart Of Offida With A View On The Towers And the Countryside

The apartment and its large terrace is located behind the Palace and the Theatre: the tower and the steeples of the six churches in the historic town centre measure up to the beautiful landscape, which has different colours in each season. The studio apartment is at the fourth floor of an old building. The breath-taking terrace is the true marvel of the apartment: here you are above the roofs, you can dominate the old city and embrace a panorama that includes the wonderful Marche countryside to the mountains of the Marche and Abruzzo, here you can soak up the sun in complete privacy and have breakfast watching Santa Maria della Rocca or dinner at sunset, while the first lights of the Piazza del Popolo turn on. The apartment has recently been renovated using carefully chosen materials, finishes and quality furniture; you can find privacy, comfort, quality and attention to detail.

You can park either in Piazza Valorani, that is 30m far from the apartment and has some parking lots, or you could easily park in a bigger car parking, which is 150m far, near Viale Enrico Berlinguer.

About Lucia Pellei

Being at the same time in History, alive and present, as evidenced by pink limestone bricks of the land of Offida that, all around, many men before us have composed in the walls and towers that have been here for centuries, and the Landscape that suck you in; your gaze is lost to the Sibillini Mountains, to the gentle hills covered with rows of vines and olive trees, which change colour and light in the different seasons and at different times of day.

Although I have stayed at this house for several years, the characteristic of this environment always surprises me, it never becomes repetitious.

I do not live in Offida, but when it’s possible I come back here just to have a glass of wine, perhaps at sunset; even my friends love it and with them we spend many summer evenings watching the stars and chatting.

Lucia Pellei purchased this apartment in 1920

Why Lucia Pellei chose Offida

I was born in Offida, although I currently live in Grottammare with my husband Lucio and my daughter Caterina.

I inherited from my father this little apartment, that was built by my grandfather, a bricklayer, on supporting walls of an old house in the historic center.

As an architect, in the restoration of the apartment, I used my professional experience.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We had a very memorable stay at your beautiful apartment. The view from the terrace is so breathtaking that we ate all our meals there. In the evening we watched the sun set and enjoyed the wine you so graciously gave us. The apartment is the most attractive of any of the many apartments that we have stayed in during our many trips to different regions of Italy. We will come back to the charming town of Offida and to your perfect apartment.

Wonderful studio flat with amazing views

  • 5 of 5

We chose this studio apartment because of the amazing veiws and we weren't dissapointed. It has everything you need and is in the centre of Offida near to shops, restaurants and the best Ice-cream seller in Italy, all ice-cream was made on site. Offida is a lovely little town full of life and fabulous architecture. Lucia was very helpful, met us on arrival and answered any questions we had during the holiday. We would happily stay there again, beautiful apartment, lovely town, fabulous unspoilt part of Italy. Oh and the bells:)

Room with a view

  • 5 of 5

Lucia is charming, we had a long detour on our way to Offida and she waited in the apartment for us and showed us where to park. The apartment is on the fourth floor in the roof tops of the town surrounded by the church bells, lovely for a wonderful, go and see it before you die view, very romantic. Lovely countryside and not very far from the beach. Must go and visit the baker situated near the school and tell him about the peach cakes, wonderful. Also try the funghetti, magic mushrooms!

It's a perfect place to discover a bit of a real italian life. The appartement is a little piece of heaven, overlooking the roofs of Offida, enjoying the panorama of the Sibillini mountains.

Thanks Lucia for creating such a lovely place!

The perfect place to fall in love with Italian life

  • 5 of 5

Lucia and Lucio own a terrace (with a small but perfectly formed studio apartment attached!) with the best view in Offida, possibly Marche, and I think it is in with a chance at the world's best view if you like vineyards, roof tiles and bell towers (and you do, or you wouldn't be reading my review). I had the privilege of a month here and I fell in love with Offida and the entire region. I loved that the locals didn't speak English, but by week 2, were greeting me in the street. I loved that the only noise is bells, swifts doing their twice daily squawking with dive bombing routines, and the locals chatting in the street and Piazza. The apartment is small, I shared it with a girlfriend, sleeping on the single pullout bed, for a week, and two weeks with my partner. The kitchen is well equipped and there is much joy to be had buying meals from the gourmet delis, in town. I used to close the blinds at night to create darkness, though it was hard to not want to lie in bed and look at that stunning view. I recommend the apartment and the town.

This is a delightful apartment with fantastic views over Offida and across to the far mountains.

  • 5 of 5

We had a first rate week in and around Offida and were treated to waking in the morning to snow in the distant mountains and spectacular lightening overnight. The food at the Cantina Offida was very good. The local people were very friendly and accommodating. Lucia and Lucio were charming and were ready with a bottle of local wine to greet both of us, Just the job after 15 hours traveling.

The location is superb. So is the appartment. There is a new restaurant in the village square. Try it. Only one minute walk.

Lucia and Lucio are the perfect hosts. Whatever question you have, they'll answer it.

Thank you both for a lovely stay.

If elsewhere tourism has become an industry, here it still has a "crafted" character- more liveable and personalized.

Many medieval small towns, with deep traditions and important history, are all around: in the summer period each of them has medieval representation, musical and opera evenings; above all Ascoli Piceno and its beautiful travertine (a white marble) square.

Besides its art treasures, the Piceno area is rich in gourmet specialities: the green olives and the excellent Olive oil, cheese and salami are produced locally, the local wines bearing the DOC trade mark, the Falerio and the Rosso Piceno Superiore; the famous Anisetta Meletti.

The main feature of province of Ascoli Piceno is the extreme variety of landscapes, from the beaches of the Adriatic to the Appennine mountain chain of the Sibillini and Monti della Laga.

Just 20 kilometers and 20 minutes away from Adriatic Sea, San Benedetto del Tronto, Cupramarittima and Grottammare, with their long seafront and wide promenades lined with hundreds of palm trees.

The nature of the three National Parks is few minutes away.

One of many itineraries:

Ascoli Piceno and its historical centre and Museums, the romanesque-gothic evidence of the ancient monastic-benedictine sites (Ascoli Piceno, Offida), the ancient coastal settlements located on the heights to control the coast (Grottammare, Cupramarittima), fortresses along the Tronto valley (Acquaviva), the villages of the Sibillini Mountains.

In the two National Parks, Sibillini and Gran Sasso/Laga, you can experience the paths of sheperds for the transhumance and you can visit hermitages and small sanctuaries founded in the medieval age. These itineraries are of bothanical and floreal interest and are suitable for people of any age.
