About Susan Taylor

We are Martin and Sue, after years of holidays with our children in the Limousin we decided to buy a house in this most beautiful region.

Susan Taylor purchased this farmhouse in 2007

Why Susan Taylor chose Limoges area

We bought our house in the picturesque Haute Vienne because the area offers peace, tranquillity and beautiful summer weather. This enables us to escape the intensity of a normal busy life in England. You cannot fail to be relaxed and feel recharged after spending a short while here. Although it is a very peaceful area there are many local places of interest including Lac Saint Pardoux, Park Reyou Zoo and the historic city of Limoges with its porcelain factories and Old Town.

What makes this farmhouse unique

The house is a fully renovated, 19th Century farmhouse which still retains many of its original features. It stands in its own extensive, secluded grounds and has its own 3 and a half acre fishing lake. The international airport of Limoges is only a 15 minute drive, and the Martyr Village of Oradour Sur Glane only 10 minutes away.

Cant recommend any more highly

  • 5 of 5

We had a week here and one point comfortably accommodated 6 people. The cottage is immaculate and has everything you might need, and loved the touch of leaving some bread, jam, butter, milk and beer on arrival. I originally booked this so i could do a weeks fishing with my son but due to distractions of other things to do we only managed three days (and nights) fishing and we both had a 40lb plus carp along with 30plus and two 20plus so very happy indeed.

Non fishing people would enjoy this certainly and the lake would be an added bonus.

Would book again and the only downside is the distance from Calais.

Many Thnaks for a great week .

Lovely property in amazing setting

  • 5 of 5

I visited this property with my boyfriend, sister and her boyfriend for a week. The first thing we noted was the setting, it is in a beautiful little hamlet and surrounded by fields, it was very peaceful!

The house itself was very well equipped, we found ourselves wanting for nothing! The beds were extremely comfortable and the fact there was English TV kept us entertained on the evenings we stayed in.

We visited the local supermarket, just a few minutes away in Oradour and found this to have everything we needed, we also took the time to visit the ruins of Oradour while we were there which made for an interesting day out. We also visited the local Zoo - Parc Reyou, which we would all recommend. It is a wonderful zoo with many animals and made for a really nice day out. It isn't too expensive or busy and was only around a 20 minute drive.

We also took the time to visit Limoges, the nearest large town amongst other excursions. We found the whole area to be very pretty, it is very tranquil.

We would definitely recommend the property to anyone wishing a break to France, there is plenty around to do and a lot of brochures and pamphlets provided in the house for inspiration. The property has a lake which, although none of us fish, we did go and have a look around and i'm sure any keen fishermen would be more than happy with! We will hopefully find the time to visit again in the near future, for us we wanted a relaxing break and we certainly got it.
