About Hayley

Perfect Puglia specialises in providing top quality holiday rentals to suit all budgets in the Valle d'Itria region of Puglia.

Let us show you just some of the amazing things you can see and do in this totally unspoiled area famous for its gastronomy, historical towns and stunning beaches.

Whether you prefer relaxing by the pool, or taking part in the many activities available in this region, wine tours, boat trips, horse riding, painting or cooking retreats - there is something for everybody.

Let Perfect Puglia take the worry out of booking your holiday location. Why not visit out website to see the extensive portfolio of self catering properties we have to suit all budgets.

Why Hayley chose Castellana Grotte

We have lived in Castellana Grotte for some time and love this town so much that we decided to purchase a holiday home here. We love this area because it is not a touristy town, it is a real Puglian town where the people are incredibly friendly and helpful. The locals treat you like one of them and you don't get ripped off here like you would in touristy places. I also love the fact that you can cook like the locals or dine out as there are lots of great food/wine places/restaurants to choose from - and you can do it all very cheaply too. The olive oil here is so good and cheap - must admit since living here, we have become olive oil snobs. Very importantly we love it here because of the awesome weather here.

What makes this villa unique

When staying at La Torre, you get the best of both worlds: you get to experience life in rural Puglia and at the same time you are in close proximity to beaches, town and key tourist sights. You'll be staying in a stunningly restored and tastefully decorated stone tower (formerly a little chapel). La Torre is a well equipped self catering property with all the modern creature comforts including air conditioning in both bedrooms. The private pool set in a tranquil Puglian countryside of olive groves and stone walls is the perfect spot to relax and watch the olive trees grow. But if you prefer the beach, it is only about a 15 min drive away.

Guestbook comments from the manager

My husband and I wanted a quiet, relaxing, peaceful weeks holiday and decided that Puglia and this specific property looked like it ticked all the boxes for us! The location is absolutely gorgeous, very peacefully located amongst acres and acres of beautiful Italian olive groves and beautiful vineyards!! The property itself was just magical! A very tastefully, and sensitively restored 400 year old chapel with all the modern conveniences you could want for! With more than enough space for the 2 of us, the outdoor space was perfect for relaxing poolside and BBQ's. The very quaint village of Castellana Grotte was just adorable with wonderful restaurants, "Osteria Caroseno" being our very favorite, not to be missed, probably one of the very best meals we've had in Italy!! The local cafes as well as the fabulous Saturday market in Castellana Grotte which we had great fun mingling with all the super friendly, truly hospitable locals! This is a VERY authentic, non-touristy area of Italy which was exactly what we were seeking!! We would highly recommend a day trip to the UNESCO village of Alborabello with it's adorable Trulli's, we would also recommend a day trip to Ostuni and a day trip to Monopoli, both very different towns but wonderful to explore. Ostuni has fabulous views that sweep across the landscape with the sea on the horizon and is a beautiful city that crowns the mountain tops with its mesmerizing whitewashed, ancient buildings! Monopoli is an ancient town that sits on the sea and has wonderful restaurants, cafes and shops to wander about, down twisting, narrow alley ways! The weather at this time of the year as well as the quiet (but not too quiet) season was also just perfect!! We LOVE Italy and this particular region is really, really unspoiled and very special!! We wish you a wonderful holiday in this spectacular property!!!

Fairytale holiday

  • 5 of 5

La Torre is a fairytale setting. Watching the sunset with a cold glass of wine on the upstairs seating area was spectacular. We spent a week relaxing and eating wonderful food. Thank you Perfect Puglia for your hospitality.

Peaceful and relaxing holiday

  • 5 of 5

My family and I stayed at Trulli Castellana for 2 weeks at the end of August last year, we couldn't have asked for anything more from our holiday..... everything was perfect!

The trulli was clean and well equipped. We really enjoyed the BBQ and pizza oven area, a great way to spend the warm evenings relaxing and eating.

We hope to return again one day.

Beautiful property - ticked all our boxes

  • 5 of 5

We were 2 couples celebrating a birthday so expectations were high. The birthday girl's heart's desire was to laze by a pool in beautiful surrounding and La Torre ticked all the boxes. The property managers organised a bottle of fizz and a birthday cake for our arrival.

The property itself is very well equipped - we ate at home every evening as my friend is an exceptional cook- fantastic Italian food, all the ingredients purchased at the local market and supermarket. We ate breakfast outside on a gorgeous patio after an early morning swim.

There are some lovely local beaches near Monopoli although we preferred to be poolside which was very well maintained.

The food in southern Italy is great and excellent value although most restaurants do not open until 8 pm.

We joined the party for a week only, the birthday girl and her husband were lucky enough to spend another 5 nights and founds lots to explore in the area. La Torre is great place to stay if you wish to relax in a beautiful place, enjoy cooking and eating delicious food, drinking great wine, the property is perfect in every way. It helped of course that temperatures were in the 30s every day and not a cloud in the sky.

Highly recommended

  • 5 of 5

La Torre is a fabulous building in a fabulous location and we had a wonderful two weeks there. The support and advice from Hayley, Graham and the Perfect Puglia team added greatly to the experience. Our first time in Puglia, but it won't be the last. La Torre is well positioned for local attractions and the very nearby town of Castellana has plenty of restaurants and shops. The building lives up to the promise of its photos and is very well equipped.Beds are very comfortable, kitchen is good and the heated pool is lovely (28 degrees). The caves in Castellana are justifiably famous and an evening performance there based on Dantes Inferno was memorable. Hayley's restaurant recommendations score 10 out of 10. All in all, a lovely property from which to explore this fascinating region.

Amazing building in an unspoilt area

  • 5 of 5

We had a great holiday here, the property is great, we loved staying in the converted church. Nice pool but we did get to the sea too which was pretty close. The local food was brilliant, and so so cheap compared to what we pay in London, £15 a head for 3 courses, I wish I could get posted to Puglia for work.
