Very pleasant stay in a beautiful place
Nutkin Cottage was very cosy and homely and everything you could possibly need was supplied, the owners have thought of everything. The location could not have been better for easy access to some excellent restaurants, shops and of course the Lake. We would highly recommend both the cottage and Bowness on Windemere to anyone looking for a relaxing break in a beautiful setting.

Lovely property, and great location
The property was fantastic, pictures can't describe how well kept the cottage is, much bigger than the pictures perceive. The cottage was immaculate, and really well looked after. Great service from the owner, even when I managed to leave a suit jacket behind when we left she ensured it was mailed to me. The only downside is no allocated parking and we had to park either in the car park opposite or on neighbouring roads many times during the week, although it was half term so it might not always be that busy.
A lovely base for a visit to the Lake District
What a lovely cottage! My sister and I stayed for 3 nights. It had everything we needed.Located in the centre of Bowness but on a very quiet street. A bonus to have a parking permit as car parks in the area were expensive. I would certainly recommend this property and hope to visit again in the near future.
Surprise stay booked for my parents at the end of what's been an eventful year.
They said the cottage was lovely, spotlessly clean and everything you could want or need.
Plenty to do, lots of lovely coffee shops and restaurants near by.
Would defiantly come back and that speaks for it's self.

“We chose this property as it is built of traditional lakeland stone , and is at the bottom of a quiet street yet in the midst of the popular village of Bowness which sits on the edge of Lake Windermere. You can literally be at a restaurant, cinema, shops or at the lakeside in minutes and with ferries across to Lakeside and Ambleside, you can access a great deal without using the car, which we find makes for a relaxing stay whenever we visit. Ten minutes up the hill, and you are in the village of Windermere with a number of bars, restaurants, shops etc. and access to a lovely twenty minute walk up Orrest Head which gives wonderful views over the lake and surrounding area.”

Windermere Railway station is 1 mile away; by road from either Northbound or Southbound on the M6, exit at Junction 36, onto A590 and then A591 signposted to Kendal and Windermere.
The cottage is located within the village of Bowness on Windermere, on the lake shore.
Ambleside is 5 miles north along the lakeside; Coniston 6 miles; Hawkeshead 3 miles to the west.
Easy access to a wide variety of shops, excellent restaurants and tourist attractions including the World of Beatrix Potter, Windermere Lake Cruises, Royalty Cinema, St. Martins Church, Blackwell House etc.
Adventure activities available include sailing, canoeing, kayak, abseiling, archery, cannoning and rock climbing.
Leisure activities available include golf, cycling, fishing, boating, horse riding, walking, hiking and sightseeing.

A deposit of £100 is required when booking the Cottage. If the booking is made less than 4 weeks before the date of arrival the full amount due must be paid at the time of booking.
The cottage is let on a strictly no smoking, no pets basis.
The cottage will be available from 3.00pm onwards on the day of arrival. Please make sure the premises are vacated by 10.00am on the day of departure.

Short Breaks can be arranged subject to availability, please email to discuss your requirements.
A £100 deposit is required to secure the booking with the balance payable four weeks before stay (for stays of a week or more).
Full payment is required at the time of booking for stays of less than a week.
