La Maison Coquille

Pretty traditional stone built Corner House with Sun Terrace, cool & airy in the summer months. The house is in a quiet enclave in the heart of Marseillan old town and close to all amenities with an excellent baker within 50 yards! Nearby is the lovely picturesque Harbour and start of the Canal de Midi with many restaurants, cafes and bars and jousting tournaments during the summer. In the village more excellent restaurants & colourful traditional markets & brocante each week and an evening craft market at the Port.

Glorious sandy beaches are just two miles away at Marseillan Plage, a 10 minute drive plus bus service and bicycle hire from the town. All excellent resort facilities with restaurants & entertainment, theme park, go-karting, nightlife etc., Local beach with shallow water at 500m suitable for children . There are many more great beaches at nearby Cap d’Agde with Aqualand a 15 mins drive plus good golf facilities and the Canal de Midi within easy distance with boat hire. Also boat hire from Marseillan harbour, with sailing & water ski.

Arranged over 3 floors, this charming house sleeps 6+1 in 3 bedrooms and has an outside Terrace with Gas BBQ.

Entrance Lobby. Bedroom with Twin Beds & ensuite Shower, Bedroom with Double Bed, also Zbed. Separate W.C.
1st Floor
Bedroom with Double Bed & balcony and pleasant sunny Salon with views down the quirky lanes from the two decorative balconies. English Satellite TV & French Digital channels plus DVD player & radio and a double Sofa Bed for further sleeping accommodation.
2nd Floor
Bathroom with Shower. Separate W.C.
Kitchen well equipped with cooker, fridge-freezer, microwave etc., leading to Terrace which enjoys sun & shade for those who prefer to sit and read or just relax. Gas BBQ.

Bedlinen, Towels & Beach Towels and Hairdryers are included in the rental price. English & French speaking Caretaker living locally. Non-Smoking House. Bakery at 50 metres together with local supermarket and all facilities. There is plenty of free safe Parking nearby.

Charming authentic traditional Marseillan property.

Perfect location - near to the best bakery! The house has everything you could possibly need for your stay. My friends and I really enjoyed our visit. Free parking was only 3 or 4 minutes walk away. I totally recommend. We will be back!

Great house in a perfect location for us, close to a small super market and easy walking distance to a larger supermarket, as well as bars and restaurants. House was just right for 2 adults and 4 children, owner is really responsive to messages and always answered and queries we had quickly, thank you

Lovely traditional town house

Great location in Marseillan village and only 10 minute drive to the beach at Marseillan Plage. Lots of parking 50 to 100 metres from the house and we managed to park outside the Spar shop around the corner to unload the vehicle. Tuesday is market day so we had to park a little further but not a problem as it’s only a short walk from the house. Great bakery and Spar shop just down the street. Lovely harbour near and if you want to drive 10-15 minutes into Marseillan Plage or Adge there is a water park, fair ground rides and beach. House was a little hot at night but we put the fans on before bed and it worked a treat to come everything down. There is a really nice roof terrace which we ate out on most days if home. If we were to stay in Marseillan again we would definitely stay here. Thank you so much to Janet for a lovely stay.

Quaint and comfortable

This little house is old and quirky and smelt a bit damp when we arrived but as soon as we opened the shutters and windows it was fine. It was beautifully clean. The kitchen is well equipped but doesn't have a washing machine or dishwasher. The beds were comfortable. It is in the centre of the town but is very quite, although parking is a bit tricky and you may have to park a few minutes walk away. We would definitely stay here again.

Franchement vétuste

Marseillan est une petite ville tout à fait charmante et il est agréable d'y passer quelques jours. Quant à cette location, que dire sans être désagréable ? C'est sans doute une maison pour nos amis anglo-saxons qui adorent la France parce que : "même si c'est vétuste et pas très propre, c'est pittoresque !". Le problème, c'est justement que cette location est vétuste, pas très propre et ne répond pas aux standards minimums de confort. Tout y est minuscule et l'on se retourne difficilement sans se cogner la tête ou les bras. L'odeur d'égout est franchement désagréable, on se luxe une épaule chaque fois que l'on veut fermer ou ouvrir une porte ou une fenêtre, il n'y a pas de machine à laver le linge etc. Nous ne parlerons pas de la décoration : c'est affaire de goût... Ceci posé, je ne mettrais pas en cause la personne qui fait le ménage, car, à mon avis, ce lieu est innettoyable. Je précise que c'est la première fois que nous sommes déçus d'une propriété sur Abritel, que nous ne sommes pas des râleurs et que cela fait de nombreuses années que nous sommes clients. Nous prîmes donc la chose avec philosophie et finîmes par en rire : mal tomber devait bien arriver une fois...
