About the property

Cottage With Garden Suitable For Two Couples Or A Family Of Four,

Serendipity cottage is a rural retreat with two country inns nearby, with walks through the fields from the house. The cottage sleeps four comfortably, especially with wash basins in the bedrooms. There is also a bed-sofa downstairs.

Please note : There is a Right of Way down the side of the back garden and across the terrace.

It is ten minutes drive to Mudeford perfect for swimming from the sandy beach, and crab fishing for the children. Christchurch Harbour offers beautiful views, and all types of water sports - windsurfing, canoeing, kite-surfing etc. with ferries to Christchurch town with its Priory, and also to Hengistbury Head. Christchurch is a busy little town with its Regent Theatre, shopping and its Monday Market. Visit the Nature Reserve at Stanpit Marsh for bird watching. The New Forest is great for walking, biking (hire a bike at Burley), horse riding, and plenty of country pubs to discover. Bournemouth and Poole are a short drive away with shops, entertainments and golden sands. Local fish sold at Mudeford, farm shops and 'pick your own' nearby.

About Margaret & Jeremy Allen, Bill and Alison Rickard.

Three of us like to go walking and bird-watching whilst Jeremy enjoys the windsurfing on the harbour, then meet up at one of the many cafes or pubs. We can then come back to the cottage and enjoy the peaceful garden, with its sun terrace. We love working on the garden. Because we use the cottage ourselves we have made sure it has every creature comfort and is fully equipped. Winkton has its two pubs, great if you don't want to cook, or to drive home; and its converient when we arrive late on a Friday evening.

Why Margaret & Jeremy Allen, Bill and Alison Rickard. chose Christchurch

We are two couples who bought Serendipity Cottage together eleven years ago because we love the area, with its combination of sea and forest.

What makes this cottage unique

We can be at Mudeford on Christchurch harbour and the beach in ten minutes, or walking amongst ponies in the New Forest also in ten minutes.

The cottage is well placed for Bournemouth, Lulworth Cove and Beaulieu with is Motor Museum, etc.

Home away from home in a lovely little Cottage

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for one month: 2 adults, 1 child and dog. The Cottage was cozy (lovely and warm), clean and well equipped with every convenience considered, useful local information, books, dvd’s and games - and our Daughter loved having a sink in her bedroom too!

The garden was well secured for our Terrier and the owners had provided bikes for our use (kept in the shed). All amenities, good shopping and wonderful beaches are only a short drive away and had everything we needed for a pleasant stay. There also is a superb pub / restaurant just 2 minutes walk away.

We would highly recommend Serendipity Cottage and we would definitely visit again - we would like to commend Margaret and Jeremy (really friendly owners) for ensuring everything was just right for us.

Thank you both :)

A wonderful home from home.

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Serendipity Cottage. It's a comfortable, cosy and fantastically well equipped cottage. The garden is fully enclosed which was reassuring as we had a dog with us. It is ideally located for the beach and the new forest and there are two great pubs within walking distance. I highly recommend this property and am likely to return.

Pretty cottage in a great central location

  • 4 of 5

The cottage was warm and super clean with a pretty garden. The owners were helpful and friendly and there was a folder of places to visit in the cottage which even included an O.S. map of the area

It was very well equipped and the decoration was lovely. The owners sometimes use the cottage and I think that is why it is so convenient and pleasant to live in.
