Guestbook comments from the owner

“Had a fantastic week. The cottage is cosy, clean and well stocked – useful when you first get here and are desperate for for milk! Visited Carbis Bay beach, only a 5 minute walk down the road and took the regular bus into St Ives and went surfing on Porthmeor Surf Beach. Surfboard & wetsuit hire on the beach is very cheap and there are twice daily lessons. St Ives is a lovely town to wander around – lots of pretty shops. Watch out for seagulls though!! Thank you very much to Jacquie & Phil for a lovely stay and fresh eggs from the chickens.” Becky, Hannah, Alex & Joe.

The Brier

“Thank you again for another wonderful week at the Brier (our 3rd). We had a brilliant time – with only one rainy day! And can’t wait to come back again next year (and probably again this summer to go camping!). See you soon x” Liz, Emlyn & Gracie

“Thanks Jacquie & Phil – had a lovely holiday in the perfect location, the cottage is fantastic. Bright and roomy and the sun shinning makes it even better. Looking forward to staying here next year!” Ellen & Syd.

A real home away from home...

  • 5 of 5

The Briar was so comfortable and homely. The kitchen has everything needed, including washing machine & dishwasher! It was the ideal accommodation for us and our two dogs, with wooden floors and an enclosed garden. The beautiful expanse of Porthkidney Sands are just minutes away in the car. St Ives is also minutes away by car or an hours walk along the coast path. We drove to the Park & Ride at Lelant Saltings and took the train along the coast into town, beautiful journey. We enjoyed this holiday so much that we're booking another week later in the year!

A perfect place to stay.

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the Briar which we found very comfortable, clean and spacious. The large kitchen/ dining room has all the utensils needed for self catering and the reclining sofas in the lounge are perfect to put your feet up and relax at the end of the day. The property is 10 minutes drive to St Ives centre and is ideally placed to reach other worthwhile locations. The owners, Jackie and Phil, were very friendly and helpful in all matters. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would recommend this place to anyone wishing to visit South Cornwall.
