In a quiet and picturesque listed Georgian terrace, surrounded by gardens, parks and trees, Sky Blue (the self-contained, ground floor of the owner's delightful blue house) has been completely renovated to a very high standard. The small front garden is a mass of colourful flowers and shrubs, and guests can sit in their own secluded patio area and bathe in the sunshine - perfect for morning coffee and afternoon tea. The south-facing apartment is spacious and light, furnished to combine both style and comfort and is ideally suited for couples who want to be just a few minutes stroll from the centre of this attractive and historic market town; everything is within walking distance. Sky Blue is an ideal base from which to explore the spectacular scenery of West Penwith and the bus and railway station are only 10 minutes walk away. And.. a Cornish cream tea is on the table for when you arrive!

About Romer Robins

I've lived in Penzance for the last 20 years. Previously I cooked for, and ran, a successful restaurant in Mevagissey, so food is an important part of my life. Penzance is a perfect town as everything is available 'around the corner': we have an excellent butcher, fresh fruit and vegetables, a fabulous Friday Farmers' Market and specialist food shops. There is no need to take the car out to the supermarket as it's all within easy walking distance. I want you to enjoy your stay in our lovely town and as I live in the house above Sky Blue, if you have any questions, or need to know anything, please feel free to knock on the door and ask. Enjoy your 'welcome' Cornish Cream Tea (home-made scones, strawberry jam and local clotted cream)!

What makes this apartment unique

Sky Blue is in a quiet little street but only minutes away from the town centre and all that Penzance has to offer. Penzance has been the last stop on the main line from London since the days of the Great Western Railway, and the town still feels one step removed from the rest of the county. With its hotchpotch of winding streets, old shopping arcades and grand seafront promenade, it makes an excellent base for exploring the rest of West Cornwall and Land’s End. Even without a car, the bus service can take you around the West Cornwall peninsula. The railway station will take you to many of the major Cornish towns and don't forget the Scilly Isles Ferry and the Heliport. So much to see and do!

A very comfortable and convenient stay. Lovely to have space after a London hotel room!

We felt very welcomed and the apartment was perfect. The kitchen was so well equipped and Romer was on hand to give us the spices we needed!

First impressions, Wow, what a beautiful place! We even had a barbeque in the garden!

Perfect base for the Coast Path

A little gem of a garden flat in a lovely part of this interesting Cornish town. he flat is so close to the town and the sea front and yet is very quiet. Comfortably equipped with some very thoughtful touches - everything we needed for a relaxing holiday.

Romer made us very welcome with a cream tea on arrival and helpful tips about Penzance and the surrounding area.

We had a great time, mostly walking on the wonderful Coast Path and it was good to be able to get to so many places by bus, leaving the car behind (in the very welcome car parking space just by the flat). On a walk around Godrevy Point we saw more than 80 seals down on the beach at Mutton Cove!

We would recommend this flat to any couple looking for a pleasant base from which to explore the amazing Coastline hereabouts. we are already planning to return next year.

A little Gem

A lovely fully equipped spacious home from home apartment. Well situated in a quiet street with private parking but only a few minutes walk from all amenities. We loved sitting out on the pretty patio in the sunshine and sitting in the garden with the lovely owners Romer and Dave. Penlee Park just across the road is well worth a visit. We saw a performance of Alice Through The looking Glass at the open air theatre. Another place worth a visit is the quirky Admiral Benrose pub. Outside of Penzance a visit to the iconic Minack theatre is a must. We had a great holiday and to be welcomed with a cream tea was a perfect start. My partner a musician was made welcome at various jam sessions in the town. There is a diverse range of live music in Penzance.

Beautiful holiday in Sky Blue

Sky Blue in Penzance was the perfect stay for us to can reach all places without a car. The Location was perfect, everthing somebody could need were there. It was very comfortable. Romer and David were very kind, thanks al lot for the really warm welcome with beautiful flowers and "teatime" with scones and clotted creame at our arrivel. We fealt very sorry to leave Sky Blue in Penzance and we will give our thanks to Romer and David for all their help and kindness. We dream about Cornwall and our wonderful stay in Sky blue. Thank you.

Heaven in Penzance

We had a fabulous week in Sky Blue. The house is one of a small number of beautiful Georgian houses each with pretty front gardens on a secluded and very peaceful street. The flat is ideal for two - comfortable and extremely well equipped. The location is perfect - one minute walk to Penlee House (wonderful art gallery/museum and cafe with the best carrot cake in town); and this is within gorgeous public gardens bordered by a tennis club. Barely five minutes away is the equally lovely Morrab Gardens with Morrab House, now a library with a fabulous collection open to members. And the main shopping street of Penzance, with bakers, delis and supermarkets is on the doorstep. Romer and Dave were great hosts and arriving to find a delicious cream tea was a real treat. We would definitely recommend Sky Blue.

Owner's Response: Dee Dee and partner came by train, they travelled around using local train and bus services and found it a breeze! I have noticed that a lot of drivers leave their car in the parking lot all week rather than negotiate around the narrow streets with all the holiday traffic. Much more relaxing!

Very comfortable well equipped cottage

Had a lovely week staying in this cosy little cottage. Very well equipped, cream tea on arrival - very thoughtful. Friendly owners on hand if you need them. Very well located - near to the centre of town, shops etc but quiet location.

Easy to get to surrounding towns, St Ives on the train - lovely day out. Lots to see locally - St Michael's Mount, Lands End, Minack Theatre, Mousehole, St Just and lots of lovely beaches.

Would recommend pirate's rest for fish and chips in Penzance, Mackeral Sky restaurant in Penzance, Crab and Rum Shack in St Ives, Kegen Teg cafe in St Just to name a few!!

Owner's Response: Thanks again for a 5 star review! I was pleased and interested that Amanda referred to Sky Blue as "a cosy little cottage" as it is actually an apartment. I have tried to give a cottagey feel to it so I'm glad that comes across. Amanda is right, there are super places to eat round here though our favourite fish and chips are from Newlyn where the fish is fresh off the boats. They make a gluten-free batter as well, useful for any coeliacs who might be visiting.
