Spacious en-suite shower room off the bedroom with toilet, wash basin and shower. Modern fitted kitchen area with electric oven, extractor fan, hob, fridge and microwave. Modern stylish lounge, TV/DVD player. Compact Dining table and 4 chairs. All linen & towels are provided within the apartment. Please provide your own beach towels. There is a shared laundry room on the second floor with washing machines, tumble drier, ironing board and iron.

Close to Sea Front

Both Apartments are on the 3rd floor - NO LIFT. The apartments are well equipped. Although next to each other, only the 2 bed has a balcony with table & seats to relax with a drink or snack while enjoying the sea views and watching passers by. Walk to the town or historical harbour with quaint shops, bars and restaurants including the famous Damien Hirst's 'No 11 Restaurant'! Below the apartments is the very popular 'Giovanni & Luca Italian Restaurant' with sensible prices & lovely atmosphere. Don't miss it! Opposite the apartments is a 'Crazy Golf' feature for you to play or just watch the fun! Take a short walk to the harbour for a trip to Lundy Island, deep sea fishing or watch the comings & goings, with an ice cream or fish & chips! The other direction is the Landmark Theatre and beyond, beautiful gardens, cliff walk & famous Tunnel Beaches. Close to beaches and only 20 mins drive from surfing heaven in Woolacombe & Croyde. There is also golf & horse-riding nearby and the Tarka Trail for more energetic walking & cycling. There is no dedicated parking but car parks are close & permits can be obtained through the Tourist Information.

About Loretta Jewitt

We live in the Midlands in England. Our 4 grown up 'children' have almost flown the nest! We spend as much time as we can enjoying holiday breaks and love Ilfracombe. We bought 8 Sea Rock 2 Bed in September 2010. I came across the property in a 'random search' one Saturday, fell in love with it, went to see it the following Tuesday & bought it on Wednesday! We have spent lots of time improving it for our guests to enjoy. The apartment overlooks the promenade and sea with a balcony to appreciate this and glorious sunsets.

We bought 9 Sea Rock 1 Bed in October 2012. Both are near the harbour, bars, restaurants and town. The area offers beautiful scenery, surfing, golfing and walks & cycling on the Tarka trail to say the least. Reasonable prices & breaks of 3 days minimum are available.

Ilfracombe is a beautiful town to enjoy, in a picturesque setting and a perfect base from which to explore the fabulous surrounding coast and countryside. A short walk up the hill is the fascinating and historical Fore Street with its 'hotchpotch' of cottages, inns, warehouses & workshops dating back to the middle ages. One of the original buildings is the George & Dragon tavern dating back to 1360! Fore Street is still a centre for 'meeting & eating' with quality restaurants, bistros, bars, pubs & cafes. The town centre dates from the 19th century with traditional greengrocers, butchers & bakers, handed down through generations. A visit to the town is a treat not only for shopping but to enjoy the historical Victorian architecture.

Situated on the sea front and close to the harbour, beaches & town, our apartments have everything you need for a really enjoyable holiday or break! Despite the many cafes & restaurants, our apartments are well equipped for you to enjoy easy, 'home from home' living. The 8 Searock balcony offers a perfect place to take in the scenes and sunsets and 'chill' with your favourite beverage and food. There is something for all ages, whether you just like to browse the vicinity at a steady pace & take in the beaches, bars & restaurants, tackle the Tarka Trail on foot or bike or explore the attractions for children nearby. We are 'on the doorstep' of the Tourist Information Centre which has a wealth of knowledge about local sights and attractions to suit all ages.

Saturday but may be negotiated out of peak season. Arrival time is usually between 3pm & 5pm and departure is 11:00am although this may be flexible when discussed with our Housekeeper.
Short breaks minimum of 3 days out of peak season can be arranged.

Very well equipped apartment in a convenient location

Searock 9 is a clean and very well equipped apartment. It has everything you could reasonably need, including some Xmas decorations in one of the cupboards! WiFi would be a nice to have, although I didn't miss it as much as I thought I might. Mobile reception was very good. The apartment is larger than the photos suggest, and I found there was plenty of room and storage space. Being centrally located it can be a bit noisy at times, but the sheer convenience of its position more than compensates. It was great to be able to step out of the front door straight on to the seafront. Ilfracombe is a compact town, so you don’t have to walk far to get to the shops etc – there is a well stocked Lidl just a few minutes down the road. I know the stairs have been mentioned in a couple of the reviews, but they’re nothing compared to Capstone Point!

Great apartment in a great location

The apartment was just right for the two of us with everything we needed. It was on the top floor so a lot of stairs to climb, sometimes hard after a long days walking. The place and neighbours were quiet although had to shut the windows to keep the external noises out. Property was clean, well decorated and maintained and very homely. Key collection was easy to organise. Nice to have tea, coffee, milk and chocolate biscuits left for our arrival.

Property was really good value and would definitely recommend to friends and relatives.

We ate in Wetherspoons a couple of times which was cheap and cheerful.

Used the buses everyday as we were walking the South West Coast Path starting at Minehead and we got as far as Westward Ho! in the week (although missed out one day's walk due to no buses at this time of year).

Ilfracombe is a lovely place to stay.

Perfectly located and very comfortable

Spot on location next to wetherspoons. Loretta was fantastic throughout the booking process and Sarah who arranged for our keys to be available was helpful and accommodating - even after check in, a few messages from sarah checking we were ok was much appreciated

Well equipped apartment with lots of nice touches - milk in the fridge, shampoo and shower gel in the bathroom.

If I return to Devon I'd definitely stay here.

Good location, but parking a bit awkward.I would not recommend it to elderly people.

Short walk to the harbor, town centre and car parks.

Very little space, and poor view from windows.

Unfortunately the first three days of our visit was in very cold conditions ,consequently for that time , the apartment was a bit cold, had to use the portable oil filled radiator a lot.

It was very well equipped, not short of anything.

Bit disappointed that the person running the apartment did not bother to visit, we reported a damaged blind and a water leak, the blind was not attended to, and the leak merely reduced, I hope the plumber didn't charge much, if he was a plumber.

Disregarding the negatives I have to say it was good value for the money we paid.

Thank you for your positive comments - I really appreciate that. The stairs are clearly pointed out in the details for people with mobility restrictions & a reminder of the 3rd floor situation with no lift highlighted on the booking letter. I always send details of public parking with map if guests ask. Really sorry about the problems you had with the leak, which was addressed & the heating - not ideal. The oil filled heater is there to be used whenever guests feel the need. Kind regards - Loretta.

Location, Value, Quality......10 Stars.

My husband and i Stayed at Searock 9 for 4 nights from Sept 4th 2015, and we couldn't have had a better break. The building is bang smack in the centre of everything, accross from the promenade, the Torr and round the corner from the harbour. Fore street and the high street are right behind it up the hill. Excellent location.There are restaurants and shops to suit all tastes and budgets, and so, so much to do. I cannot express how much we fell in love with Ilfracombe.

The apartment itself was fantastic. Somewhat bijou, but absolutely PERFECTLY formed. The Accommodation is very high spec and feels like a real home-from-home, with everything we needed and more, as if they had thought of my personal comfort and just for me. The bed is the most comfortable bed i have ever slept in when i have been away from home, i had four excellent nights sleep. There are 3 flights of stairs to traverse, but that made me feel better about all the chips i ate while i was there!

Tips for prospective guests: Parking- we obtained a 7 day rover permit from the tourist office and safely parked at Jubilee Gardens with no issues. Fish & Chips: The Ilfracombe Fryer was fantastic in both value and taste. See everything.

I cannot praise this place enough and we will be back next year.

Our apartments are 500m from the nearest beaches and a 15 min. walk from nearby coves. The famous surfing beaches of Woolacombe and Croyde are 20 mins. drive away.

Cliff top walks can give amazing views as far as Wales!


The National Express can offer services which take you directly to the bus station which is just behind the apartments, a 3 min. walk away.

The nearest train station is in Barnstaple and buses to Ilfracombe are regular from the station.


Ilfracombe is ideally situated for you to explore the spectacular coastline and the delightful moorland reaches of Exmoor with its rolling hills and quaint villages; to the east are the unique villages of Lynton and Lynmouth with it's cliff top railway, and to the west the delights of Clovelly (wear strong shoes or trainers!), Appledore, Hartland and the market town of Barnstaple with its famous Pannier Market and Butchers Row. Barnstaple is 12 miles away.

Further Details:

A local bus goes to TESCO each day from the bus station behind the apartments or other stops in town and Lidl is within walking distance just past the Landmark Theatre. We find a folding trolly bag really useful!
