We live in the Midlands in England. Our 4 grown up 'children' have almost flown the nest! We spend as much time as we can enjoying holiday breaks and love Ilfracombe. We bought 8 Searock 2 Bed in September 2010. I came across the property in a 'random search' one Saturday, fell in love with it, went to see it the following Tuesday & bought it on Wednesday! We have spent lots of time improving it for our guests to enjoy. The apartment overlooks the promenade and sea with a balcony to appreciate this and glorious sunsets.
We bought 9 Searock 1 Bed in October 2012. Both are near the harbour, bars, restaurants and town. The area offers beautiful scenery, surfing, golfing and walks & cycling on the Tarka trail to say the least. Reasonable prices & breaks of 3 days minimum are available.
Loretta Jewitt purchased this apartment in 2010
Ilfracombe is a beautiful town to enjoy, in a picturesque setting and a perfect base from which to explore the fabulous surrounding coast and countryside. A short walk up the hill is the fascinating and historical Fore Street with its 'hotchpotch' of cottages, inns, warehouses & workshops dating back to the middle ages. One of the original buildings is the George & Dragon tavern dating back to 1360! Fore Street is still a centre for 'meeting & eating' with quality restaurants, bistros, bars, pubs & cafes. The town centre dates from the 19th century with traditional greengrocers, butchers & bakers, handed down through generations. A visit to the town is a treat not only for shopping but to enjoy the historical Victorian architecture.
Situated on the sea front and close to the harbour, beaches & town, our apartment has everything you need for a really enjoyable holiday or break! Despite the many cafes & restaurants, our apartments are well equipped for you to enjoy easy, 'home from home' living. The 8 Searock balcony offers a perfect place to take in the scenes and sunsets and 'chill' with your favourite beverage and food. There is something for all ages, whether you just like to browse the vicinity at a steady pace & take in the beaches, bars & restaurants, tackle the Tarka Trail on foot or bike or explore the attractions for children nearby. We are 'on the doorstep' of the Tourist Information Centre which has a wealth of knowledge about local sights and attractions to suit all ages.

This apartment is in a great location, next to Capstone Hill, with views out across the bay towards the Landmark Theatre. All of the Ilfracombe attractions are right on the doorstep.
The apartment itself is modern (the building is old - a former grand hotel - with a lovely ornate staircase), with everything you need included ... plus welcoming tea, coffee, milk and biscuits! Most importantly, it is spotlessly clean, with a fresh, sunny, feel, with lovely little seaside touches, and local views hanging from the walls.
Good communication with the owner, and the housekeeper was very helpful and friendly.
Lovely little apartment in a fantastic location. Well equipped with fantastic views over ilfracombe.
Lots of stairs but this just makes it easier to justify all the fish, chips and Pasties.
Owners were a pleasure to deal with right from the start as was Sarah the cleaner who had to wait around for us while we were stuck in traffic on the motorway. If you are looking for an apartment in Ilfracombe the I would highly recommend this place.
Perfect central location. Excellent flat that wants for nothing. Everything we needed was thought of. Stunning views of ilfracombe. Literally a stones throw from loads of places to eat or drink. Brilliant !!!
This was our return to Searock having previously enjoyed the smaller apartment this time we tried the larger of the two and as before we thouroghly enjoyed our stay.
The big difference with this apartment is the wonderful balcony, I think it's west facing so in the afternoon we were able to enjoy the sun, I know it was February half term but honestly with a jumper on, the wind being from the east and in the sun we eat lunch out there, in the summer I'm sure it's amazing!
We had a particularly windy week the sea really came alive outside the harbour, then in complete contrast we sat on the sand against the harbour wall eating ice cream......we could have been a million miles away,
Like I said this was a second visit for us, Loretta does a top job and I know we'll be back, a 5 star holiday, thank you Loretta.
We had a lovely family holiday in this very clean, very comfortable and well equipped apartment. Lovely sea views from the lounge and centrally located to the beaches and restaurants. The booking process was easy and I would definitely use Owners Direct again in the future.
We had a lovely 5 days, the flat was comfortable and very well equipped.
The flat is very central being in a prime location right where you would like to be close to pubs, restaurants, the harbour and beaches.
Two highlights were the lifeboat practice evening on the Thursday and the walk with a fab view back over the town from Hillsborough and the walk along the coast path to Woolacombe and the new James Bond film at Ilfracombes cinema and the real ale in The Ship and Pilot.
Only frustration is having returned home I've had no response from the owners to my emails requesting our deposit back!
If I do hear back from them, I'll update this review accordingly.
