Holiday Cottage In Beautiful Lakeland Valley - Willow Sleeps 5 (2 Bedrooms)

Overview

Property

Updated: 25-Nov-2016
Cottages in Boot, Eskdale, Lake District Cumbria Modern, Pristine 2 bedroom Accommodation Offering Numerous Walk From The Door

The Chalets are in the beautiful valley of Eskdale, in the heart of the Lake District National Park. Eskdale can provide you with a new mountain to climb each day and just as many gentle riverside strolls and valley walks. Discover the secret tarn, the quaint church or the stunning waterfalls at Stanley Ghyll. The Chalets are set in a beautiful riverside location close to the village of Boot. Boot village offers traditional Inns, one of the oldest working watermills and a village shop. Eskdale is surrounded by the biggest, deepest and steepest in England. Sca Fell, England’s highest Mountain, can be conquered in a day from The Chalets. Wast water, England’s deepest lake is a beautiful place to spend the day and is just 10 minutes drive away. The Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway, locally known as La’al Ratty, winds it’s way down through the valley to the sea, from Eskdale to Ravenglass, perhaps England’s prettiest train journey.

The Chalets, Eskdale

  • 5 of 5

Attractive, quiet location with extensive gardens and river.

Excellent walking close by as well as the Ravenglass Railway which gives access to more walks.

Good quality pubs and restaurants within walking distance and more just a short drive away.

Cottage is equipped to a high stndard with a very effective central heating system.

The only minor lack is that just 2 bath towels are provided for the week. A hand towel for the kitchen and one for the bathroom would be appropriate and in keeping with the standard of the chalet.

Location

From the Owner

We fell in love with The Lake District many years ago and it was a dream to have a property here. Little did we know that we would make it happen in our 30's. Eskdale is the most beautiful, peaceful location you could hope to live in and this makes it a special retreat for holiday makers. We are surrounded by the Lakeland fells and yet far from the madding crowd. Climb a different mountain every day, amble along the river and seek refreshments in one of 4 lovely local pubs or spend the day in our mature riverside south facing gardens.

Activity and Interests

Coast/Beach:

We are just 15 minutes away from the beautiful sandy beaches of Cumbria’s West Coast.

Travel:

We can be accessed by car using the A595 from North or South.

Or by train taking a mainline train to Ravenglass. From here we can collect you, or you can take the La’al Ratty steam train to Beckfoot Halt station and then a 30 seconds walk!

Distances:

We are 10 minutes walk from Boot Village. 5 minutes drive from Eskdale Green. You can access all areas of the Lake District from these popular holiday cottages. Most of the areas can be reached within an hours drive. Beatrix Potter’s cottage; Mountain bike on the forest tracks at Grizedale; Shop in Ambleside, boats trips on Windermere and Coniston Water, Visit Wordsworth's Cottage in Grasmere, Keswick, South Lakeland Wild Animal park and of course the beautiful beaches on the West coast.

Notes:

  • Notes on accommodation: Though there are many holiday cottages in the Lake District, The Chalets are renowned as being some of the best self-catering cottages in the Lake District National Park. Their unique presentation and set within stunning grounds, has earned a 4 star rating from Enjoy England for self-catering cottages within the Lake District National Park. Many of our customers are repeat visitors, continually enjoying the tranquil surrounds of Eskdale. Outside: The Chalets are set in large, mature riverside gardens on the banks of the river Esk. Here you will find garden furniture and bbq facilities. Each chalet has access from their private deck down into the gardens. Many of our guests park their car when they arrive and don’t use it again until they leave!
