Apartment in Stockbridge, Edinburgh, Scotland - Only 15 Minutes Walk From The City Centre

The property is a 'double upper' villa (the apartment covers the 1st and 2nd floors of the property), built in the 19th century with period features throughout including a coal fire which is a lovely treat during the winter. Although a traditional property it is equipped for the modern traveller with WiFi and broadband internet access and we offer a selection of books, videos and DVDs for use during our guest's stay. The property would suit groups of couples or families as it is a flexible accommodation and we also offer a high chair and travel cot for families with toddlers. Although we are close to the city centre the Upper Villa is in a predominantly residential area which means a peaceful nights sleep! We have a fantastic selection of local shops, bars and restaurants which cater for the hungry traveller!

I have lived in Edinburgh since 1983 - came to study, met my husband and the rest of history! Until recently I ran my own letting business but have decided to concentrate on the holiday lets business as I love meeting new people. We have lived in Stockbridge since 1999, and love the area with its selection of shops, bars and restaurants.

Party of nine with four kids aged 7 to 12, French and Australian. We had a wonderful time beginning with Rona and Howard's nice welcome (also bread, milk and cheese for us in the house). The house is beautiful, plenty of space. Very well located, close to city centre and to many amenities. We went out in Edinburgh either walking, either by bus (bus stop near the house).

Spacious bright comfortable apartment. The pictures don't do it justice.

The apartment is just beautiful. We could easily have stayed for a month or more! The rooms are spacious and bright, and the beds comfortable. The kitchen is really equipped and there is a big dining table for eating in or enjoying takeaway

All the convenience and activity of Stockbridge is just a cobbled street away and Princes Street a lovely 15 minute walk.

Fantastic!

A great place to stay, a short walk into Stockbridge and into the west end of the city. Very clean and comfortable accommodation. Great for a relaxed evening in and a leisurely breakfast. Lovely lounge and dining room.

Rona was very well organised about arrival and had everything set out for us. A definite one to return to.

Located in the Stockbridge area of Edinburgh, on the boundary of the UNESCO World Heritage site, the property is ideally situated for Edinburgh’s Financial District, the historic Old and New Towns and the majority of other facilities in Scotland’s fantastic Capital City. Stockbridge itself has a wide variety of shops, delicatessens, restaurants and bars located minutes from the property. Princes Street and the city centre are approximately a 15 minute walk from the property.

We are 5 mins from one of the access points to the Water of Leith Walkway.

We are 10 mins from the botanical gardens.

Most attractions are a short bus ride from the apartment

Further Details:

There are a good selection of shops in Stockbridge (a couple are open until 11pm) with excellent butchers, bakers and gift stores. For those keen on looking at 2nd hand shops we have a wide selection of excellent shops offering clothes books and records.

The property has an impressive and spacious drawing room with original features, a real fire and a dining area. There is a TV (with Virgin Media), Video and DVD player in the drawing room for those evenings you want a quiet night in. Wireless and Broadband internet are also available. We offer a well equipped kitchen and a shower room with toilet and a bathroom which also has a shower and toilet. There is a washer dryer, ironing board and iron available. Finally we have 4 bedrooms, all with a double or king sized bed and there are 2 day single day beds in the larger bedrooms. Each bedroom has a alarm clock and a hair-dryer.
