Fantastic Holiday Cottage

  • 5 of 5

This is a fantastic holiday cottage. Situated at the edge of Brook village, it has fantastic uninterrupted views straight out to sea which raise your spirits every time you look. You are in the middle of West Wight's fantastic countryside.

It is clean, simply but tastefully decorated, fully equipped, and everything works.

If you want to quibble, the rooms are small, but that's an essential part of its character as a coastguard cottage. We had 5, very comfortably accommodated; 6 wouldn't have been a problem. The parking is also a bit awkward, but that's inevitable in this fabulous location.

Home from Home

  • 4 of 5

After a little blip on arrival, which was quickly rectified by the owner, we had a lovely stay at Coastguard Cottages. It felt like a home from home with loads of kitchen equipment and games for the children to play with. The location was perfect with lovely views of the sea to the front of the property, We spent most evenings sat in the conservatory looking out to sea! Only 5 minutes walk to the beach which we did every day, the children found lots of fossils! The house is a bit dated but very nice size and very comfortable. We had a great holiday and would love to stay again one day.

Idyllic simplicity

  • 4 of 5

Very simple but attractive cottage with lots of lovely features- flagstones, fire place/ open fire etc. Location is perfect- lovely views of sea, 5 minutes to beach or 10 minutes up onto downs. Short drive to good pubs/restaurants in Freshwater and Yarmouth. The house was clean and cosy and the owner answered emails very promptly and was very helpful. Very good value for money. Access via potholed no through road so very quiet at night.

From the Owner

The "West Wight" area of the Isle of Wight is close to the family's heart as the owner spent every summer childhood here - and indeed brought their own children back year after year too. The cottage is situated in a beautiful location with a fantastic view of the sea and the white cliffs of Freshwater Bay and beyond towards the Needles. The property is on a quiet no through road, is surrounded by National Trust land and only a few minutes walk across the fields to the beach. Situated on a quieter stretch of coastline the family appreciate the tranquility the cottage offers - whilst still feeling that the rest of the island and all its attractions are in easy reach.
