Cottage in Penryn, Falmouth, Cornwall, England - An Excellent Location For Exploring Cornwall, Situated Between The Towns Of Falmouth And Truro
Sweet Pea Cottage dates back to the 18th Century and retains a wealth of character. It has been sympathetically renovated and contains many character features; beamed ceilings, stained glass windows and a private sunny courtyard to name a few. The cottage oozes charm and it's style is a combination of vintage, retro and English country cottage. Sweet Pea Cottage is moments from the River Fal and a fifteen minute walk from Ponshardon Park & Float where you can enjoy a boat trip to many great locations or simply cruise into Falmouth.

We had a lovely week in your cottage which is really lovely and pretty. Thank you for the dog walk idea, very useful info. Thank you so much for the cream tea and the scones were delicious! We enjoyed having a breakfast on the terrace outside, we hope we can come back some time.
Hi Sarah we have had a super week many thanks the house has been ideally placed for us to get around and we have really enjoyed our stay. Thank you so much for the cream tea it was a lovely touch and we devoured it. The cottage is really gorgeous. We hope to come back some time.

We had a fantastic time at your cottage in Cornwall. We loved having our breakfast in your courtyard. It was so nice that it made it hard to leave and explore.....

Charming cottage, great location
A family of 5 (teenage/young adult children) shared the cottage for a week. The property is old and quirky, furnished in a way which younger and older alike found appealing and comfortable, and spotlessly clean. There is only one main ground floor space, but an attractive yard and small cosy conservatory provide some additional space if different people have different wishes. Wifi reliable for our purposes. The internal staircase might be difficult to negotiate for the very young or less mobile people and the street to the town centre is a steep one. We never met Sarah, but she dealt with minor queries quickly and very pleasantly. The old centre of Penryn is most attractive - the town has an interesting history. Don't miss out on the fish and chip shop near the top of the street! Quieter than Falmouth (but it's easy to go there if you want) and a great centre for getting around the area, including the coast for walks, canoeing, boat trips etc. We had a car with us which was fine with parking not far away, but public transport is also very good. We hope to go back!
Pretty Sweet Pea Cottage
Can't believe how lucky we were to find Sweet Pea Cottage available for a last minute short break. Everything worked so smoothly and efficiently. The cottage is so easy and relaxing to stay in with convenient parking and a well stocked kitchen. The courtyard was so pretty with lots of lovely flowers and a peaceful, lovely sunny place to sit. The cottage was also dog friendly. All in all it could not have been better and we would love to return. Thank you!
Sweet Pea Cottage
We have just returned from a fabulous stay at Sweet Pea Cottage - it has been a perfect base to explore Cornwall. We had 2 small dogs with us and the garden is completely secure which has been great for the 2 little roamers as we didn't need to worry about them! We had a number of BBQs in the evenings and enjoyed sitting on the patio surrounded by beautiful plants and flowers and in the sun room. Everything about the cottage is magical and it is finished to a very high standard with plenty of space for 6 people. Fresh scones, jam and clotted cream waited for us on arrival - just what we needed after the journey down. We definitely hope to return someday and visit the numerous other sights there are to see within a short drive and spend some more time in this real gem of a cottage. If you have dogs there are so many dog friendly gardens and beaches nearby.
We had a great time at Sweetpea Cottage and hope to be back one day. The cottage is full of character, and was perfect for our first family holiday with little one.
Loads to to see & do locally, we walked into Falmouth a couple of times and it's a nice walk.
Really recommend :)
Secluded, sunny cottage.
Our holiday in sweet pea cottage last year was lovely. It exceeded our expectations, especially the sunny courtyard and conservatory, which were so lovely it was difficult to prize ourselves away to go sightseeing.
Penryn is a great location to stay. There are good food shops and a markey nearby and quite a few cafes and gastropubs.
The river is just at the bottom of the street and you can saunter all the way to Falmouth on one side, past trendy dockside boutiques and cafes. The other side of the river is more rural. We took several lovely morning walks there.
The cottage is very well appointed. The kitchen is spacious and looks onto the garden. In the evenings we retreated into the cosy lounge, with a TV and CD player. There are loads of guidebooks and games in there too.
Because the ground floor is open plan, cooking and washing up is convivial.
Upstairs a steepish staircase leads to bedrooms and a spacious and modern bathroom.
The cottage is located very close to the town centre, but it is a quiet street and the courtyard, with high walls surrounding it, is very private. The perfume of Sweet peas blossom permeated the evening air.
We couldn't have had a lovelier holiday.
I love Sweetpea Cottage! It is even more lovely in reality than I was expecting. The cottage was so cheerful and welcoming and the homemade scones left for us were a real treat! The design and decor is beautiful and stylish and makes the cottage feel comfortably chic!
The little courtyard garden is a delight - private and beautifully planted (with lots of sweetpeas!)and a real suntrap. It was a perfect place for us with our little dog - as the garden is completely secure. The owner, Sarah was friendly and helpful and I would definitely recommend a stay at her lovely cottage (although at the same time, I'd like to keep it a secret and just book more holidays there myself!)

South coast beaches are a mixture of sandy and rock pools. North coast beaches, which are great for surfing are 30 minutes by car. The rugged Lizard peninsular is a 40 minute drive to the tip. Penryn hosts many facilities including Miss Peapods Kitchen Cafe which is very family friendly. It shows live bands and serves local, organic food. There is a choice of pubs and a wine bar. Several takeaways including Mariners Fish & Chip shop, The Chilli and Rowe's pasties which we believe are the best in Cornwall. The town has a bank, post office, a doctors surgery and a museum. For groceries there is a local convenience store, a health food shop and a farm shop. There is a farmers market in the town hall on Friday and fresh fish can be bought at Islington Wharf. There are two large supermarkets 15 minute walk or 5 minutes in the car.
